All,

As it says in the thread, you need to be a registered user, meet the hardware and software requirements, and ensure you EMAIL me if you want to be a Beta Tester.

Thanks,

If youve already emailed me about beta testing GameEx TV, I should have it nicely filed in my email. If youve emailed me about something else, I probably dont, as I often forget peoples real names and emails compared to there forum ids.

Hello,

New to the community here.

I would be interested in your beta testing Im currently running a MythTV server on a dual xeon 2.0 ghz with 1GB of ram and 1.2TB of HDs pvr150 with ir-transmit on Dishnetwork satillite. I used to run FC4 then Ubuntu now Im on Knoppmyth with 4 front ends.

My GameEX machine I just setup is a dual 1.8 ghz Xeon with 512 ram currently loading all my emus but I dont have enough network space for the 3 TB of games I have. Once I get this all setup Im seriously considering Donating. This frontend is superb!!! Ive been running mamewah for 2 years what a waste of time.

Best Regards,

Chris

so are we talking about something like beyondtv or sagetv as part of game ex? i have to say that sounds friggin amazing- it would be a perfect all-in-one htpc/emu frontend solution for many people!

Tom-

I emailed you a few weeks ago.

I registered a couple weeks ago also.

I have two setups, one is a newer PC with XP 64 on it, the other is a couple years old with Windows 2k(my arcade cab pc) and both have ATi tuner cards in them. I'm still setting up my GameEx on the cab pc, it takes a long time but is easier than GameLauncher, I was going to add winamp as an external aplication for watching tv on the arcade but your idea seems better. However I will add that my cab has wireless internet so the great part of winamp is that I can have tv stations and online TV in the same playlist. It seems that with the internet radio already in GameEx it wouldn't be a streach to get online TV.

If my system seems up to it just post and I'll send you another email.

Hi, I am sure I got your message, dont know for sure though unless I know your email address.

I have not got back to any of the proposed beta testers yet.

I don't know much about online TV. It should be possible. If someone can post some good sites to look at where I can get a list of stations I'll look into it. Online TV is a great idea for sure.

Thanks,

Tom.

Looks like that was an illegal site, and that was not online TV, but videos.

I'm sure you didnt realise so no worries.

sorry about the link, your probly right, but if your thinking of including streaming tv your probly looking at simaler sites

or

bbc news, eurosport and a few other tv stations but the quality is pritty poor a lot use realmedia

*.rm files, other sources include winamp/shoutcast tv these tend to be just a playlist on someones pc

there all free they just have a small 30 second or so advert before you watch

for anything half decent you would not get for free

hope this is some use if you want to know anything il try and help

Well the easiest way I can think of is to use Nullsofts's SHOUTcast.

Not sure if the windows media player can use that format of steaming video. I would think it is just a matter of codec.

I just tested puting a NSV url into MPC and it could not render the file. Not sure if that means an impass, however there are other streaming formats.

Really its not as cool as having the Tuner card work.

Tom, would it be possible for you 'ping' the list of ppl you have added to be testers of your TV project? ... I would like to be sure I am on that list... (I had to disable messages from admin on this board, because I was getting a email every time you made a post to anything...) but I dont want to be 'excluded from your test'

Thank you

currently im playing around with TV in gameex and i have had an idea

would it be possible to add a section to the menu called tv

with options like the emulator options onlanuch after launch on exit etc

so people can use there own tv software with a greater control

im using wintv and a mce remote im able to use the remote to record tv and playback im thinking this could save (tom) a lot of problems as there is so many difrent tv cards etc and this will allow freeview Sky tv etc on gameex

comments welcome

:D

I am a beta tester for snapstream (beyond tv) and have a dedicated htpc with a pvr-150 and a pvr-250.

I just setup your software for the first time today and really like what I have seen so far.

Please let me know if you could use me

thanks
