rockyrocket
Hi, so i have just shelled a cab that is now running win 7 64 bit.All is well i have hidden everything, got rid of all branding and loading text ect, but have noticed as have many people i see that the old trick of starting explorer.exe on exit of gameex does not have the same effect. In my cab (that runs xp)the full windows gui loads and i also load mousefighter that replaces my invisable cursor with its own and then can be controlled via the joystick. In 7 only the file browser window opens and i know its no bother to open taskmng and start explorer as a new process but this cab is for someone not so savvy as to want to do this.So i am really just thinking out load here but is it possible to create a script that would do this and in turn be launched at exit of gameex?.I am thinking it would need to do something like open a cmd window then taskmanager and then new process- explorer.exe but with the correct syntax is this correct?.Also whilst i am rambling, now that more is known about shelling win 7 and more things can now be hid or changed ( i can find some links tomorrow)since the last update of instantsheller can i ask if any plans are afoot to update it tom?.Thanks paul

You will need to find the 64 bit copy of explorer.exe from the system folder make a copy, rename it to explorer64.exe and put it in the syswow64 folder. Then run explorer64.exe instead of explorer.exe.

rockyrocket
Just had a bit of a play with this, and still seem to have the same behaviour. This may well be due to user error though! as i really need to go to bed now. Will try again when i am less frazzled!. headkaze
AFAIK The 64-bit version of Explorer.exe is in C:\Windows. Perhaps try running it using the full path "C:\Windows\Explorer.exe"

zoomer
Maybe try this You can run explorer.exe as an external application from gameex Name: ExplorerPath: C:\WINDOWSCommand: explorer.exeShow desktop: yes Emulate mouse: disabled To quit gameex after starting explorer you could setup a batch file somthing like: TASKKILL /F /IM "gameex.exe"
rockyrocket
Thanks for the reply zoomer, I will try that next time as i dont have that cab anymore!.As an update I decided that once the cursor and all hint of windows branding hidden all that was left was to set the taskbar to auto hide.Full shelling was not really needed and setting mousefighter to start on gameex exit meant that the dot that was the cursor then became a proper one and could be used via the joystick.
