Scanning for games on new setup

hey guys i had been using ultrastyle for the last 2 years, as of v.100 it is no longer working, so i was wanting to start using games ex, quick question im all setup on mame, & i did the config on games ex but my roms are not showing up, i noticed on one of the question, someone stated you have to scan for new roms, how do i do this im guessing this is all i need to do, my path to mame is correct i checked that

Open GameEx -> Go to Start -> Update Game List -> Press select button to start.

I don't remember if Update Game List is enabled by default, but it should be.
