I've read on here that previous users have been able to get MUGEN to work with their GameEx setup. I downloaded a MUGEN set that works when I click on the exe but I have been unable to get it to work with Gameex. I added it as an emulator and it shows up on my emulator list but the screen just goes black when I choose to play it and then goes back to the previous screen. The version of MUGEN I am using doesn't seem to be the winmugen version but rather just mugen. I tried to copy the Gameex config that previous users said they used but all of the posts about mugen on these forums are about 3 years old so some of the config options have changed.

I basically used these options:

Enabled=True

DumbyValue=

STARTPAGENAME=Mugen

TITLETEXT=Mugen

StartPageLogo=emus

ROMFilter=*.exe

RomsInFolders=False

RomPath=G:\Emulators\MUGEN

SnapPath=G:\Emulators\MUGEN\snaps

TitlePath=G:\Emulators\MUGEN\snaps

BoxPath=

CartPath=

WorkingPath=G:\Emulators\MUGEN\

MapKeys=False

WaitBeforeKeys=

SendKeys=

ReplaceDash=

ReplaceUnder=

Capitals=

RemoveBrackets=

ShowDesktop=True

Debug=

MAPFile=

AlsoLaunch=

Command=winmugen.exe

OLDatZip=

LaunchBefore=

LaunchAfter=

configFile=

ExcludedFiles=

CustomBackground=

PlayMusic=

PCGame=True

DATABASE=

GamesIn7Zips=

PlayInScreenSaver=False

but instead of winmugen I have mugen.exe as my executable. I also have the snaps setup the same in config even though no snap folder exists in my MUGEN folder. If anyone is able to help me with this I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Since this is not a standard emulator, it's hard to say exactly what is needed to get it working. Many things can come into play. I'll be in the chat room for a bit for real-time support if interested.

I have my MUGEN in my PC games. Set up the same with the shortcut link (*.lnk) as the rom filter. Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 MUGEN = badassness. :lol:

Issue has been resolved! The problem was with the path name. MRE's path included a "%" character and GameEx was stripping it out from the command-line. Therefore, causing it to error out with an invalid path name in the command window output.

How do you guys deal with the ESC key in mugen? I cannot find a way to change it in mugen and do not want to change it in game EX.

Let me know.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Also should start a new thread as this is a new issue and was already resolved. I will move it as soon as you respond.
