I think the fix is easy but I've been mucking with this for hours. My problem is in Gameex Missle command errors out. When I run it from Mameui it works. I looked at the rungame batch file and it loads missle but gives me a rom missing error. When I manually change the batch file to load missle2 it works great. How do I tell Gameex to load missle2 rather than missle.

Thanks in advance.

Have you scanned your roms with CLRmamepro to ensure they are the correct set that matches your mame version?sounds like a incomplete romset to me

Here is how to scan\fix roms with CLRMAMEPRO

I did that and I probably did it wrong. It seems thats when my problem started. It used to work fine. I have 3 files in my rom folder. Missle1, 2 and missle. Gameex tries to run missle and it errors. when I sub missle2 in the batch file it works. It also works under mameui running it from there.

Well you could add 'missle.zip' to the 'filter these roms' section and add 'missle2.zip' to the 'don't filter these roms' list under 'Advanced MAME Settings' within GameEx and update your list again.

I couldnt find those options. I saw do not filter these roms and added missle to the line. I went ahead and changed gameex to only show working and imperfect roms and to verify roms. At least now my list only has working games.

What is driving me nuts is the game plays fine from the mameui interface. Missile command rev 1 2 and 3 show up. Rev 1 and 2 work but rev 3 tells me file missing. Do I need to update the database that Gameex populates its menu with? Is there a way I can tell Gameex to get its working roms info from Mameui?

Ok, I now have a working Missile command. I added the rom names to the filters as suggested by Adultery. I am still left with a question. What makes a game show up and not show up. If it works in Mameui why wouldnt it show up and work in Gameex. I also loaded Hyperspin and it shows up and plays fine. Another rom 'arcade classics' which has missile command did the same thing. Shows up and works in Hyperspin and Mameui but not in Gameex. I had to add the rom name to the show filter to get it to work in Gameex. Would arcade classics be a clone?

Weird....
