  1. Hey All, I'm getting nothing but slow loading, crashes, blank load screens that never load and then I cant get out of Pinballx and have to reboot, backglass freezing while scrolling through the few tables I loaded, table browsing is horribly sluggish switching between tables or it just crashes. Had very little success with this software everyone thinks is just so easy. All my tables are VPX tables, load is 10.6 Virtual Pinball followed the setup video to get all my Pinup system and PUP video working great freezy DMD and ultra DMD... I'm running a brand new Dell, G5, 1660 TI, i5 intel 4Ghz, 8 Gig of ram All virus software disabled .. 2 Screen cabinet 4k playfield 1080P backglass... All my tables work perfect if I just launch out of the Vpin tables folder and not use PinballX... I'm currently back to PinX being un-installed trying to wipe it and start clean will the simple uninstall alone do that or are there any other areas to wipe out manually? I've also completely removed McAfee, it was disable and didn't seem to interfere with PinUP but for this 2nd try i'll pull it completely... Also should I be using "file matching" seems to be pushing matches that are not working for me? What is the "working folder" too? Lastly which Exe should I set PinX to use to start the tables VPinballX or Vpinball995
  2. Here are a few tips and lessons I have learned while setting up Gameex that might help others out. So you won’t have to go what I went through to figure it out. 1. On the Emulator Download screen where you check the boxes. Only the checked ones will show up under “Emulated Games” for Gameex. Uncheck ones you don’t want to show up. 2. Under Emulator Setup when you point to a roms folder, Gameex automatically creates “2” more folders. So the one you pointed to with your games in it is not the folder currently seen by Gameex, but the 2’nd one it created. Example. E:\Rom\2600(you pointed to this) Gameex points to E:\Rom\2600\Atari 2600\Roms(Atari 2600\Roms are both created by Gameex). The solution is in the next screen(Advanced Emulator Setup) where you simply point back to your original ROM folder and delete the 2 unnecessary ones created by Gameex. 3. 9 times out of 10 when all you get is a black screen for a few seconds and then get taken back to game list, a BIOS file is missing or in the wrong folder. Also be sure you are downloading the right BIOS for a system as I have seen ones improperly named. 4. I like to keep my C:\ drive as OS only and few key programs. So I created a folder on a separate drive for Emulators and for Roms. 5. To get Ootake to work with Turbografx-16, under Advanced Emulator Setup set the 7-zip/rar/etc. setting to Yes. That will get rid of the unzip32.dll prompt. 6. To get the Snes9x emulator to work without the directx file prompt you need to download DirectX from Microsofts website. It will install alot of packages. Do not download and install the single file. I will update this as I solve more issues I encounter.

  4. Hi there. First of all: I love PinballX. I just have one issue/suggestion: The problem is that the DMD-Videos aren't displayed on the correct monitor. I have the dropdown in the setup listing 5 monitors (even though I only have three) but all of them seem to put the DMD videos on the right corner of Monitor 1. No matter what I configure (including the manual position options) Being a coder myself I tried to simply find the PinballX-Thread, collect the windows-handle from the DMD-Video and move/resize the window to the correct position. Sadly, this did not work, cause the videos do not seem to adjust their zoom level when changing the DMD-Window-size. To shorten this up: It would be VERY helpful (and hopefully not too complicated) if I could add a location for an external application in the config file that is called automatically with the filename from the correct DMD-Video. (just like the external applications on different other config sections) Then I could write a tool to display (and position) the DMD the way I want. I think, others might benefit from such a feature, too. I will happily provide that program for the community, just like I did with the VPinMame-Mover (which does what I described in the first passage, but within Visual Pinball) [Just search for "PinMameMover" on Github)

    GEmvoy

    Version V1.0.86

    289 downloads

This plugin does various stuff. It's main aim is to make running multiple emulators for each system as easy as possible. You can setup all your emulators in GEmvoy first - running and testing them from there before dovetailing with GameEx. You can also choose which Emulator to launch a game with from GameEx itself. Lots of additional stuff. Best way to find out what it does - download it and have a tinker - it's very low impact on GameEx; your game and asset files + your existing setup, so you can't break anything. Features: Quickly launch zipped gamefile sets without having to wait for them to unzip. Have different system emulators mapped against one GameEx 'emulator.' Be able to choose which emulator boots a game from the Game Details page in GameEx. Simple approach to mounting gamefiles Test emulator/games setups before running through GameEx - boot games in "Fullboot" or "Setup boot" modes. Can work with multi-format gamefile sets for one emulator (e.g. Playstation sets with mixtures of .cue, .mds etc.) Save emulator settings on per-game basis, allowing for different graphics, sound and controller setups for each game. Launch support apps before, alongside or after a game boot on a per-system, emulator or game basis. Full tokenised game/system/emu details allowing insertion of these into any command lines. Make your own emulator settings scripts, swapping out files, folders and registry entries between game boots. Key-remaps on per emulator or game basis (experimental) Timelapse picture capture via webcam during games. Continuous, timed or burst mode. GameEx tweaks allowing: Choose which sounds to use for the GameEx menu Choose to use random sounds for the above Relocate the message window from the bottom right User prompting throughout any unzips showing progress. 7. Hi, I installed GameEx (14.76) on a PC, then I had to uninstall it. If run the setup again on that machine, in Select Additional Tasks the option to download Arcade Ambience is missing. (Setup_1.jpg) BUT, if I run the setup on a different machine, option is still there. (Setup_2.jpg) Is there a way to fix it, or to download and automatically install those files afterwards? Thanks.
  8. GameEx Emulator Wiki http://gameex.info/wiki/index.php/Category:Emulators See above for a growing list of Emulator guides. Includes things like Command Line parameters, hotkeys and plugin details. Be great if y'all could add to it. Every time I set up a new system/emulator, I just put any research outcomes into the relevant wiki page. If you're going to start a new emulator, use the "Template: Emulator" as a standard. You can just edit the page and copy and paste the markup into the new emulator page. The format's recently changed, with Dolphin, Cemu and Citra showing the most recent format.
  9. Hello, I have always been using Higan (version 92) for emulating NES and SNES behind the GameEx front-end, no problem with launching the games as long as I don't use a version of Higan newer than 93, because to my understanding since version 94 Higan doesn't work from the command line anymore. However I have problems configuring Higan to use my wireless gamepad/controllers (or any other joystick). The controller is not recognized automatically. I know that key mappings are defined in Settings -> Configuration -> Input, but I couldn't find how controllers keys should be defined (it doesn't work like MAME, where you can just press the keys on the controller and they will be automatically detected). Or is there any command line option to automatically detect a controller? If you have any experience using Higan in GameEx, I would appreciate any suggestion, before I consider switching to a different NES/SNES emulator entirely.

  11. Hello everybody, because I was asked, if I may do a small step-by-step guide on "how to Setup Pinball FX2" (STEAM VERSION), I did it. This is about: - how to start table directly via parameter - how to move the DMD of Pinball FX2 to another screen - how to remove the ugly border and - how to use Images and Videos for PFX2 in PinballX It´s just a simple guide, but maybe helpful for somebody. First I did this just in German, but later on I was asked if I may translate it as soon as possible to English. So, I was a little bit in a hurry - please don´t mind if it isn´t translated perfectly... This is just a first DRAFT-Version... maybe there will be corrections and minor changes in future. Kind regards, Jannek42 PFX2 in PBX_Ver0.9_ENG.zip PFX2 in PBX_Ver0.9_GER.zip
  12. I would like to change my gameex sound when i start up any game if possible to this is there anyway i can do that ? and if so what other cool audio are out there like that one for game start up playgame.wav
  13. Another share, given found a simple way to achieve this. May save someone some time... Scenario: A lot of PS2 games require different settings from each other to run properly (e.g. different graphics settings; speedhacks and shaders). Thus - need a way to boot each game from gameex with individual settings. Solution: Download and install PCSX2. Download and place PCSX2Lunch (a launcher) into your PCSX2 folder: http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-PS2Lunch-a-simple-launcher-for-PCSX2 TIP: Set all your default settings in the default profile before adding isos to PCSX2Lunch (e.g. - set your screen resolution in the GDSX plugin and configure your controls) Add your games to PCSX2 Lunch: It will provide you with a serial number (in column serial) Rename your roms to include the serial number enclosed in square brackets. Doesn't matter where in filename. This must be in the format: [AAAA-00000] - don't forget the dash! E.g.: At this point, you may have to re-link your files to the PCSX2Lunch launcher (you'll click Normal Start or Config Start on a game - it'll prompt you for the file location - just locate and it'll be fine the next time) Create this Batch file, edit the file locations to match your own and save in PCSX2 folder as "PCSX2_LUNCH_LAUNCH.bat": In your PS2 GameEx setup, do the following: Obviously, changing you paths/filenames to those relevant to your setup. And that's it. Basically, the batch file extracts the serial number from the filename and this is sent to PCSXLunch, which in turn, applies the individual settings for the game and launches it. Hope this helps someone.
  14. I'm relatively new to VP/FP and even newer to Pinball X, so this is probably a really dumb question. I succeeded in getting all my tables set up, including the backglasses, and in getting them into Pinball X. I'm displaying my backlglasses on my laptop screen (screen 1) and my playfields on my Dell monitor (screen 2). Once I'm in a game, everything works as it should, but when I first start up Pinball X, I briefly see the Pinball X logo on my Dell main screen, which quickly reverts to the desktop display. At the same time, the Pinball X table selection screen appears on the backglass screen. When I select "start game," the laptop backglass screen continues to behave is if it were the main screen (i.e. displaying the loading screen) until the game loads, at which point, it displays the backglass and the Dell monitor displays the playfield. When I quit the game, the playfield screen reverts to the desktop display and the backglass screen reverts to the Pinball X table selection display. It seems that no matter how I set the displays in the Pinball X settings, the table selection screen remains on the laptop/backglass screen. In Future Pinball, the table appears only on the laptop screen, and the desktop appears on the Dell. So far, this is the only problem I haven't been able to solve on my own. Probably so obvious that I just can't see it. I just love Pinball X and can't wait to finish my setup. Update: I think I fixed this problem. For Pinball X purposes, the Dell monitor needed to be treated as "monitor one" even though Windows 8 indicated that it was still "monitor two." Now I've run into a new issue. I had trouble getting some wheel images and media packs to load properly, especially FP media, even though I believe I had them correctly named, Uninstalling Pinball X didn't help. After numerous error messages and lost entries, the list manager stopped working altogether for Future Pinball, and Pinball X kept crashing when I tried to open it. I could only get it working again by doing an uninstall / reinstall. I did save my Pinball X folder prior to uninstalling, but I can't figure out how to restore the lost games. As I start to rebuild my game list, I'm getting messages indicating that the old games are still there somewhere and that I'm overwriting them. This seems to hold out some hope that the old games can be restored but also the concern that the errors and crashes will just start all over again. It's clear that having never used a front end before I just don't understand how they work. Can anyone help me? I've had enough of a glimpse of PBX to see how wonderful it could be. In the meantime, I guess I'll invite more frustration by trying to figure out how to get DMDs into my backglass screens.
  15. I have just set up GameEx on my New PC used to have it a couple of years ago, BUT! I am having one problem! 16. Hello! I'm having a little trouble in getting GameEx to launch a batch file (in the Advance Emulators Section) after a game exits. Can someone shed some light on what I'm doing wrong? Thanks! LC log.txt GameEx.ini
