Hello Everyone! I'm still alive and kicking lol. I know during the past year or two, I've been off and on here not as much. Atop of a new job, kids getting older, and have been working towards getting certified for A+, Network+, Security+, CCNA, and CCNP, things have been really hectic. I'm not sure if anyone had reported this (or if it's just my setup lol) but since the most recent update, the screensaver (when it's configured for "play only videos") is a black screen. I've reverted to an earlier version via backup, and that seems to fix the issue...so I can only think that it might have something to do with the new version? Is anyone else experiencing this? I hope everyone is doing well, and I've missed y'all!

I finally got my Mame32 emu running well under gameex and am enjoying the gameex interface with one exception. When I play a vertical game, such as Donkey Kong in MAME32 I rotate my display and get a full screen of the monkey but when i play this same game through GameEx my screen still rotates but the screen is compress so I am not using my screen's full potential. When I play Horizantal games there is no difference between MAME32 and GameEx. Look my screen shots and you will see what I mean. What can i do to make GameEx use my full screen area when playing verticals? Thanks! Pete-za66

Hello and good morning/afternoon!! I know its a little bit late, but I've finally updated GameEx to 13.03. I loved reading all the new "goodies" to it, and still a little excited about it maybe I'll add a little live local tv to the cab in some time . Anyway, since the update, I've noticed a couple of things that I can't quite figure how to fix. The first thing is that when GameEx is on the start page, the theme background is either missing, or is set to black. The lists and snaps are still there, but the background is black. When I go into whichever menu, e.g. emulator section, mame, favorites, etc, the theme background image displays. I've tried changing views, as well as changing themes, but all does this same thing. The other thing, (and I'm not sure if this has to do with the update, but narrowed it down to GameEx) is when 2 player coin ("6") and 2 player start ("2") are pressed at the same time in any emulator, GameEx would shut down the emulator (besides mame, which it would still play in the background...sorta) and focus would return back to GameEx. I've tried to mimic this on emulators outside of GameEx (I've even tried opening notepad to see if it was the Ipac), and all works well outside of GameEx. I normally wouldn't worry about it, but when the kids are over and start playing, they have a tendency to try to rush in a virtual quarter and press start...practically at the same time lol. Thanks for any help in advance!! And attached are the log files, as well as the .ini file. LC GameEx.ini log.txt ThemeEditor.txt

Hello everyone, I'm planning to start building a cab. One important decision I have to make is what size of monitor to use. I'd like to hear what you guys use as a monitor: size and resolution Thanks in advance ! GC

I am a new GameEx registered user and so far I love it! there is just one thing keeping me from getting the lifetime upgrade and its the option to choose the default monitor to use I have 4 monitors (3 PC monitors 1 HDTV) connected to my computer, I know it is not a typical setup so I understand why this is not an option. I know its possible to select "secondary monitor" as a start up for GameEx, but I want to select my 4th monitor and use that for GameEx, is this currently possible? right now I have to make my 4th monitor (HDTV) mi primary monitor then run gameex and it will open there, its a workaround, yes it works, but its a pain to re-arrange everything after I am finished playing, and it would be so much simple if I just selected this as an option in GameEX, as I can do it in mame.ini and mame opens in my 4th monitor no problem please help!

Hi all, I have had MAME and GameEx for about 6 months. I had the urge to build a cabinet and have completed the project, well except painting and t-molding.. I got a little busy enjoying the games! GameEx is awesome and big props to Tom! Thanks for making a more user friendly MAME experience. I had MAME a long long time ago on a PC and used my keyboard. This way rocks and so does having a cabinet! Anyways, on to my question. I put in a inexpensive Dynex TV, however I have an onboard ATI graphics card. I really have no other option, due to no PCI slots.. I would have to get a new motherboard. It was a cheap purchase to get MAME going at Micro Center. It works great, but may complicate my question.. When I run GameEx it's fullscreen and awesome. I then run MAME and everything has the dreaded black sides. I have adjusted the generic video options in MAME through tab button a few times. (Mainly due to artwork preview making the playing screen even smaller, however... the bezel option for asteroids is SICK!!) I am wondering if there is some miraculous way to make MAME play in the entire 32" screen. I would hope to not be stretched.. but if that's the only way, I would like to at least see what it looks like. Is that what AdvanceMAME does, if so that was over my head and I'm sorry... Also, I checked the FAQ and came across this: Q: My MAME games are not in full screen, or I just get a black screen. A: Add -nowindow -hwstretch -ddraw to the MAME Options under Advanced MAME settings. In addition, make sure UsingArcadeVGA is set to False. Would the above fix the issue.. ?
