WHAT IS THIS? PinballX now allows you to have custom sounds playing for tables when launched since version 2.13 and later (thanks again Tom for this awesome feature!) You can download all the files that have been made up to date from the GameEX FTP: /-PinballX-/Other Uploads/gStAv/Launch Audio/ ...or via my dropbox link here so now everyone can try them out. HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT SAMPLE... It is way harder to select a sound – just one – to go with a table than just recording its main music tune. I usually go and record ALL samples with potential from the ROM. Then I run them together with the table music to see if it works. You want it to blend well, be heard properly and to have the right lenght. It is a pain in the neck sometimes to select just “the one” out of 10+ samples (and sometimes over 100+ looking in STERN’s newest titles!) I guess it’s a combination of what goes good with the music and personal likings. Please drop a comment if you have found a more suiting sample for a table and I put that in to consideration. TIME FLIES FAST... It is quite a tedious process to produce a file and normally one sample takes about 10+ minutes to nail down. This is why I took on the tables listed in my cabinet first and then work my way futher out . Not all tables have samples and will better use the default launch sample in PinballX. HOW TO BROWSE AND HELP OUT... There is many ways to browse a ROM file. The most complete but tedious way is covered HERE by using a modified vPinMAME dll. (Thanx TheMcD) Newer STERN tables can preferably use Pinball Browser 404 (which does not cut off the last bit of the samples played), while some titles could be browsed with M1/ Bridge M1 if supported. I use the same technique when recording as with my table music using WavePad Sound Editor ME but with a normalization to 100% in order to punch the sample a bit over the music when launched. If you find samples for a not yet listed table or a sample to replace a previous one I be more than happy for a request. Please state the following info in the request and I addd it to the archive. Table name ROM name Method used Memory position Sample sentence WHERE TO INSTALL? Just place your files in the folder ‘Launch Audio’ for the respective system. ...\PinballX\Media\[system]\Launch Audio\ Remember to have the same name so it matches the table as usual. That’s it. Happy launching!

When I try to run a game on Steam through PinballX I get a warning error saying "Allow game launch?" which is hidden behind other windows. It does this because PinballX attempts to launch a Steam file with specific launch options parameters in order to load a specific table. Is there any way to disable this and always allow the game to launch? I've tried what I've found online including changing compatibility properties to have it always run as an Admin, reinstalling the game, reinstalling Steam, and more. Nothing has worked though. Any idea what to do?

Hi, I am looking if it is possible to have an alternative button for menu and launch, I searched and saw multiple old requests but not sure if this is still on the wish list. I like having the menu enabled so I can look at flyers, instructions, etc. But I would prefer a single button launch of the game, rather than menu>launch. I was hoping to assign the menu to a second button (Extra Ball for example) Is this possible, or is it still a requested feature? Thanks, Wob

I have a working AHK.exe (see spoiler) that I use to launch Kodi and 2 x irfanview slide shows onto separate screens. This works great when launched directly, but I would like to be able to get PBX to launch it for me. If I create an "other" system PBX and try and execute this file though, I can't seem to come up with working config. The best I've achieved in PBX launching the first line slideshow and then dropping back to the menu. Any pointers to a possible "starting point" would be appreciated. Cheers

Hi all!!! Sorry for all my post today, but as you can see i'm configuring all my emulators today from 0, and have some problems... Sorry. My problem now is with Yabause emulator. I readed some posts talking about configuration of this emulator. I have all my games on the list, but when i launch any game, Yabause opens but not load the game, i only see the main window of yabause (with no errors on it). Emulator works perfect outside GameEx. I'm getting an error on Gameex validation config, saying that it can find my daemon tools path. I don't know if this can be the cause of the error, but Yabause don't say any error message when launch a game inside Gameex. Attached my configuration files... Another time, sorry for all my post today.... GameEx.ini log.txt

Has anyone got this working successfully yet? Now that it runs properly when the windows desktop is in portrait mode it would be great to get this launching from PinballX, but I'm having trouble getting it work. I've created an ahk script to rotate the desktop before launch using iRotate http://www.entechtaiwan.com/util/irotate.shtm, but when pinball arcade launches it's not in focus, I need to alt-tab to it and press enter to get past the pop up window that selects "launch game or configuration utility" this is what I've managed so far [system_3]Name=Pinball ArcadeEnabled=TrueWorkingPath=C:\Program Files (x86)\SteamTablePath=Executable=Steam.exeParameters=-applaunch 238260LaunchBeforeWorkingPath=C:\PinballX\ScriptsLaunchBeforeExecutable=rotate portrait.exeLaunchBeforeParameters=LaunchAfterWorkingPath=LaunchBeforeEnabled=TrueLaunchAfterEnabled=FalseLaunchAfterExecutable=LaunchBeforeHideWindow=FalseLaunchBeforeWaitForExit=False

Hey guys, Im running the latest GameEx and I'm very happy with it so far. I am having the following issues:- Q1 When my one player start and two player start are pressed together (or in close proximity to each other) I'm dumped out of mame back to the gameEx screen. This is the current mapping P1 Start - 1 P2 Start - Page Down I tried different mapping and same issue persists (not a fun error in a hectic 2 player game when we both have to continue at the same time Is there a way to disable this all together? or remap to my keyboard? Q2 When launching a Mame game is there a way to go straight into it without the disclaimers / info popping up? I did set options to turn this off, maybe im missing something? Q3 Spose Ill ask this too Is there anyway to setup auto save states eg every 5 mins? Thankyou
