A few years ago, I build an Arcade machine. Inside is a Windows 10 build 20H2, it’s configured with 2 joysticks and 2x12 buttons. I choose Gameex Arcade Edition as frontend. Now, during corona lockdown, I felt it was time for a bit of tiding up. So, I started all over. GameEx Arcade Edition 16.74. MAME 0.229b 64b bit. Nothing else. Everything worked – I thought. I can play every game and the controls seems to work as they should. When I hit the Joystick Exit buttons as defined in “Global Exit” there is a problem. First of all, they seem to react much slower than in my previous installation. But the real problem is that it does NOT shut down the MAME game I was playing. Global Exit does return me to Gameex Arcade, and I can start a new game. But the one I started with, is still running in the background. When I exit Gameex Arcade I find to programs running. One black cmd-windows with the text: “Active code page: 65001”, and secondly the MAME game itself. When I kill the cmd-windows the MAME game disappears. If I kill the MAME game, the cmd-windows disappears. So, I guess I’ve made some kind of faulty setup. Any idea on how to make a correct Global Exit that kills the MAME game. Included log of latest attempt to play and exit asteroid. Afterwards I stopped asteroid as described. BUR, Denmark log.txt GameEx.ini

I have been reading through the forums now for some time but have only found a post promising that the hard coding of this exit key combination would be removed allowing it to be disable, however I can find no information on where this key combination can be turned off. I have designated the Backspace key as my global exit, and that functions, but no changes I have made to GameEx will disable the simultaneous pressing of buttons 2 and 4 also triggering a emulator exit (very poorly chosen as these are commonly player 2 and player 4 start or coin). Sadly I do not have the option to rewire my input panel as there are no remaining keys for me to use. Also I do not have any key mapping software or controllers on the system; my inputs are seen by the computer as a standard USB keyboard (I am using the control board removed from a keyboard and wired into my control panel harness). I have GameEx version 13.21 Is this option only available on registered GameEx? If so I will need confirmation of this before spending money on a registration (this function is the last road block for me to choose GameEx as my frontend. If anyone can help confirm this, or point me to a thread I missed in the forum I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks! GameEx.ini custominput.ini

Hello and good morning/afternoon!! I know its a little bit late, but I've finally updated GameEx to 13.03. I loved reading all the new "goodies" to it, and still a little excited about it maybe I'll add a little live local tv to the cab in some time . Anyway, since the update, I've noticed a couple of things that I can't quite figure how to fix. The first thing is that when GameEx is on the start page, the theme background is either missing, or is set to black. The lists and snaps are still there, but the background is black. When I go into whichever menu, e.g. emulator section, mame, favorites, etc, the theme background image displays. I've tried changing views, as well as changing themes, but all does this same thing. The other thing, (and I'm not sure if this has to do with the update, but narrowed it down to GameEx) is when 2 player coin ("6") and 2 player start ("2") are pressed at the same time in any emulator, GameEx would shut down the emulator (besides mame, which it would still play in the background...sorta) and focus would return back to GameEx. I've tried to mimic this on emulators outside of GameEx (I've even tried opening notepad to see if it was the Ipac), and all works well outside of GameEx. I normally wouldn't worry about it, but when the kids are over and start playing, they have a tendency to try to rush in a virtual quarter and press start...practically at the same time lol. Thanks for any help in advance!! And attached are the log files, as well as the .ini file. LC GameEx.ini log.txt ThemeEditor.txt
