I will post the Gameex.ini later as I am on another computer. Now to the issue: The only thing I changed was removing 3 emulators that gave me issues and then adding 3 new emulators for the same systems to try those out(I have only 1 emulator representing each system added). I exited the wizard, started up Gameex Evo an was greeted with a popup error window. This appeared after the original gameex blue window loaded and said done. I chose continue with the program as my option and at the homepage no game system graphics appeared at all, while everything else worked. I could hear movement sounds as if the graphics were still there. Subsequent tries loading Gameex Evo yielded the same error. Edit: Screenshot added. Has something to do with game system appearing/layout.

Hello All! I have a problem I can not seem to fix or find the answer to. In Game manager I have three tables that I can not update the play field for. VP10_Star_Wars_Trilogy1.6 VP10-Tron Legacy (Stern 2011)-v1.0 VP10-Star-Trek-LE-1.9 The video files are in the C:\PinballX\Media\Visual Pinball\Table Videos folder I even have the static files in C:\PinballX\Media\Visual Pinball\Table Images But no matter what the playfield does not show in pinballx front end. I am running game manager in administrator mode and it has full read / write access. I am a member of the online gameX so i can download from the internet. Where can I find the XML or file that contails the links to wheel image, backdrop, playfield ect to try to edit it manually? Thanks for any help! log.txt PinballX.ini Visual Pinball.xml

Looking for some help. I believe this might have to do with memory. Only get this error on VP10 games (VP9s play fine)....and only recently. I used to play them fine at normal settings. Using 4k TV at recommended settings size settings ( 3840x2460) and its running 29Hertz. When I go down to running a smaller screen resolution say, 1920x1080...games play fine.. Not sure why this all of sudden started. Doesn't matter if game is started from file or PinballX. Running WIN10 Video card has 2gb memory. I even tried resetting video card AMD Radeon RX460 down to defaults. Would a larger memory on new video card solve Any help or insight to error or why its suddenly started would greatly be appreciated. I'm a hobbiest at this, not a full programmer. Thanks

I'm sure there's a simple reason I'm getting this error, here's my steps. 1. Brand new install of Windows 10 64, updated. (i5, 16G ram, basic nvidia card) 2. download GameEx Arcade edition, install. 3. receive a message that windows wants to install .Net 3.5 (includes 2) 4 after .net install completes I re attempt GameEx arcade. 5 install runs without error I start GameEx. 6 I see the wizard. when I advance to the "input settings" section I receive an Unhandled Exception. I have tried regular edition, uninstalling and reinstalling .net and gameex. again I'm sure theres something basic I am overlooking. Here's the content of the exception: See the end of this message for details on invoking just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box. ************** Exception Text ************** System.IO.FileNotFoundException: The specified module could not be found. When I try to run a game on Steam through PinballX I get a warning error saying "Allow game launch?" which is hidden behind other windows. It does this because PinballX attempts to launch a Steam file with specific launch options parameters in order to load a specific table. Is there any way to disable this and always allow the game to launch? I've tried what I've found online including changing compatibility properties to have it always run as an Admin, reinstalling the game, reinstalling Steam, and more. Nothing has worked though. Any idea what to do?

New user here, while trying to setup gameEx I wanted to change the theme. It was refusing to load so I killed GameEx with task manager, and ever since it has refused to load Edit: I don't seem to have a config folder... Edit 2: I manually added a scancodes.txt and now it wants more files, I think the whole folder got deleted o_o edit 3: had to reinstall..

I am seeing this same error. It was working fine prior to today. My Windows 10 just went through an upgrade. I tried a reinstall of GameEx, still no luck. log.txt GameEx.ini

I edited my database XML files by hand for Future Pinball, VP993, VPPM5, and VPX. I needed to change many occurrences of a couple of tags and figured doing it by hand would be faster than using Game Manager. After editing PinballX would just bounce me back into Windows once started. So I tried loading each database in the Game Manager. All of them loaded fine except for the VPX file. This database gives me an error about an illegal character in the file. Is there a quick way to locate a typo/illegal character, or am I stuck eyeballing the entire XML?

Hi Completly new to all this and I'm just testing out software before making my cabinet build (both cab and pc). I've got PinballX working "nicely" with VP, FP and FX2, got table booting up fine with single screen so far (my eventual aim is 2 screen + pinDMD3) But I can't for the life of me get PBA to work. The machine i'm testing on *can't* do DX11, the machine I'm going to make *will* be able too, so if thats a prerequisite I'll just have to stop the testing for now. This means I can't test with the FreeCamMod that I see lots of you use. When I try to launch a table, pinballX "closes" to black screen and then it just hangs for maybe 10 seconds, then the desktop is diplayed....PBA doesn't appear to launch at all? This is the case both via Steam and if I install offline outside of Steam. The XML file i have is just the one that automatically generates but i've attached here... Hi there! I'm trying to load basic gameex from a backup small hard drive I had, so I just installed it fresh, no older settings, nothing at all. When I try to launch it, it crashes with an error of non valid characters. My log in spanish... the only spanish text is the 4th line, "Error: non valid characters on access path" verified the setup with the setup wizard, and the only invalid paths reported are from default setups that I don't use (videos, jukebox, daphne...) all of them disabled. what can it be?

Hello, I am trying to run House of The Dead 2, but when I do I get an error that says I'm missing files. I attached 2 pics of the error as well as my log and ini files. I look on google for help but all I found was a website that wanted me to download a video. Any help on this would be really much appreciated. log.txt GameEx.ini

I have Visual Pinball up and running on my system. I installed the latest version of PinballX 2.14 onto my system. My operating system is Windows XP 32-bit. I followed the user guide to set the table paths up correctly using the setup wizard by launching settings.exe. When I launch PinballX.exe, it shows the wheel and tables briefly, then a Runtime Error pops up. It reads... Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! Program: c:\PinballX\PinballX.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information. However, when I disable Visual Pinball in the setup wizard, then the PinballX skeleton appears, with 0 tables, and NO Runtime Error. I don't know what is causing the error. Please advise.

Hey, I'm having some trouble. GameEx is only showing part of my Steam game collection. GameEx shows that I have 64 games, but I know I have way more than that (108 to be exact). Yes, I'm registered. Is there any way to tell if GameEx is in "registered mode"? Any help would be appreciated.

I'm at my wits end! I spent nearly allday yesterday trying to figure this one out, but no matter what i try, or what method i use i get the exact same error! And it relates to the driver model1.c. As you guys probably know i'm not a codie and so i have no idea what the error means other than it relates to that file. After hours of searching (no exagerating), the only info i found was this, but as you can see, the person who reported the problem is trying to build in linux. The linked error (is the same as mine): src/mame/video/model1.c: In function 'void draw_quads(model1_state*, bitmap_rgb32&, const rectangle&)':src/mame/video/model1.c:307:17: error: array subscript is above array bounds [-Werror=array-bounds] while(p[ps2+1].y == cury) ^src/mame/video/model1.c:319:17: error: array subscript is below array bounds [-Werror=array-bounds] while(p[ps1-1].y == cury) ^src/mame/video/model1.c:319:17: error: array subscript is below array bounds [-Werror=array-bounds]src/mame/video/model1.c:329:17: error: array subscript is above array bounds [-Werror=array-bounds] while(p[ps2+1].y == cury) ^src/mame/video/model1.c:329:17: error: array subscript is above array bounds [-Werror=array-bounds]Compiling src/mame/video/segag80v.c...src/mame/video/model1.c:305:17: error: array subscript is below array bounds [-Werror=array-bounds] while(p[ps1-1].y == cury)I've downloaded mame-source and mingw multiple times I start with fresh extraction of mame source every time The first few times i tried with my usual alterations to the source Then multiple times with zero alterations or diff's added I tried Headkaze's compiler too, and although it ploughs through the error, it ultimately still fails a few moments later everytime. Has the compile process changed? Or is there a real bug in the source? I tried to compile over 10 times (i can be determined when i want to be ) but i surrender. Please someone tell me they know what's going on here. Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease EDIT - OK i just tried 32bit version to make sure it wasn't a 64 thing, and sure enough same error. I took a screenie this time though: SOLUTION: Do not use the "new" tools promoted on the official page - they cause errors. Instead use an earlier version - this version is proven to work: http://mamedev.org/downloader.php?file=tools/mingw-mame-20121207.exe You should point your grattitude to tthurman, otherwise known as Todd for finding this solution! It's all him! Thanks again man - you preserved my sanity

Hi all. I'm new to this forum but have used Gameex for a short while now. I recently replaced my motherboard and therefor hard drive in my arcade machine and now no games will launch within Gameex. It looks to load and then returns to the game options screen. Has anyone got any ideas? Thanks

I figured I'd start a new thread since my issue has changed from basic organization to specifically Map file woes. Here's my original thread: http://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/14332-folders-for-emulated-games/ I want to organize my games by multiplayer and non-multiplayer (and eventually other categories). The way I'm trying to go about this is by making a separate emulator entry for each console's multiplayer library (NES, NES Multiplayer, Atari 7800, Atari 7800 multiplayer, etc.) and then linking the multiplayer instances to a map file. I made map files for each of the systems using Map Magician, but I get an error every time GameEx tries to access them. What can I do? My log is listed below; I've attached my map file, the normal Atari 7800 emulator instance, and the Multiplayer Atari 7800 emulator instance. I'm having trouble with my plugin manager. I want to use the Xpadder plugin, but when I select the Xpadder plugin and click "configure" in the plugin manager I get an error saying "unhandled exception has occurred in your application..." (see attached photo). If I click "Quit" the application will close, but if I click "Continue" the Xpadder plugin will launch, but there are no emulators to choose from in the drop-down menu. This is a new installation of GameEx on a fresh Windows 8 install (I just upgraded my OS from Win XP to Win 8 and let me tell you it is such a nice upgrade to not have to deal with that old OS on this machine anymore). When I installed GameEx on this computer I carried over my settings and configuration files so it's not exactly a "fresh" installation of GameEx. Any ideas what's causing this error? Thanks. log.txt GameEx.ini

Hi to all, I've formatted my pc and reinstalled GameEx with all my emulators. There is a weird thing that happens... Some games in Mame emulator, show their snap and video previews for a very brief instant and then they disappear. I've installed any sort of codec, 32 and 64 bit. However the games run correctly. I've checked in my snap an video folders for verifying if the files of "corrupted" games are in same way different from the other, but i don't see any difference. Before the formatting all worked fine... (or almost). Is it a known problem? GameEx.ini log.txt

Hello! Earlier today, I was getting set up to use Instant Sheller for GameEx. Before today, during the times I would shell GameEx, the launching of mame games went seemless. For some reason now, when I shell GameEx, I get a HiToText error every time I launch a mame game. When I start GameEx normally through windows though, this issue never happens. I'm not really sure where to start troubleshooting. Has anyone had this problem? Thanks in advance! LC GameEx.ini log.txt

Hello! A few days ago, I added a startup video that I downloaded from EmuMovies (Which the video was pretty awesome lol - its the one that starts out with Pong, then goes to Pitfall, then Mario, Sonic, etc...) Anyway, after directing GameEx to the "intro" folder I created for the Startup Video Directory in the Setup Wizard, when I start GameEx, its been "hit or miss" when loading. What I mean by this is that, it seems like GameEx tries to load at the same time the video is running - there will be flashes of the GameEx Homescreen and will suddenly freeze on either the video or homescreen, leaving the audio playing. When the audio from the video finishes, GameEx will close and an error box will load, saying that there was a problem with DirectX. This doesn't happen all the time, just sometimes - about once every 5 to 10 times or so. I am away from my cab right now, but as soon as I get home, I'll try to recreate the problem, and post the log and config files if needed. What I am wondering for now is, has anyone had the same problem? ...and if so, how did they fix it? My video card and drivers are all up to date, and I done everything that the error suggested to do, but with no progress. Thanks in advance for all of your help! LC
