  1. So, I have a scenario where I want to run two different setups for PinballX .... one where its being used in 'VR' Mode and another via SteamLink without VR. The issue I am having is finding a way to launch PinballX and tell it which PinballX.ini file to use. I am pulling whats left of my hair out tryin to work this out. I don't really want to run two copies of PinballX if possible.
  2. My machine has been running well for over 12 months now, but today I turn it on and PinballX is tiny up in the corner of the screen. All my systems configs are gone? How on Earth can that happen? I'm the only person who uses the machine and I have not touched any config. This is a major disaster for me, as my external backup disk was "borrowed" without my knowledge and not returned. Plus I run multiple systems and have ("had" ) scripts doing automating things. I have NO idea how to redo the settings, as it was kind of an organic evolution over time to get to this point.
  3. I started using the emulator Snes9x. The problem is: Most of the time, when we started a game using this emulator through GameEx everything works perfectly. But some games that have a greater number of players set the controls will not work because the "multi-tap" option must be enabled. My question: How to solve this problem using this emulator? Is there any way to make the option of "multi-tap" be activated in certain games? GameEx.ini NINTENDO (16 Bits).ini log.txt
  4. Hi guys, I want to try win8.1 in my pincab now with win7 (I have it in mamecab with same hardware and it's really really faster). Could I copy all pinballx dir in my hdd portable and when formatted and installed win 8.1 paste the dir? Or Have I to execute pinballx setup and copy only few files with config and media? Thanks
  5. Evening. As part of another project, I needed a GUI ini/cfg editor in which you could use standard windows type controls (dropdowns, colour pickers etc) to set key values. Not many out there, so had to make one. This allows you to view and edit ini/cfg files more easily than using notepad etc. It also allows you to construct schema/template files for inis. Full command line support - so people developing their own apps can integrate it. Dunno if it may prove useful to anyone. On the advice of the wise, bit the bullet and plunged into Visual Basic. My first forray, so likely some runtime bugs. Just post any bugs on the codeplex site and I shall endeavor to correct... Some screenies: To get a feel for the basic utilization, just drag and drop any emulator ini's or cfg's onto the IniRedit.exe. You can download it here: https://iniredit.codeplex.com/
  6. Scenario - You're booting Dreamcast games from GameEx via NullDC. However, you have to set up the game settings each time. Some games require change of graphics/sound settings and key mappings to your cab controls are very different across games. Solution: This approach saves the configs for each game when you exit Demul. Use: Run game. Set up controls via NullDC menu. Exit Game. Next time you load that game, the controls will be recalled. How to: 1. Make a folder somewhere for your individual game controls 2. Copy this text and make a bat file: 3. Change the User Variables Section to match your system. Save it as a batch file (use notepad - put .bat at end of filename) 4. In your command line for GameEx, enter the following: {Path and bat} "[ROM]" "[ROMPATH]" "[ROMFILE]" For e.g.: C:\GameEx\AHKS_BATS\nulldc_game_settings.bat "[ROM]" "[ROMPATH]" "[ROMFILE]" 5. Copy text below into notepad and save as "[Mapping Off] Exit (Process Close) - NullDC.ini" in C:\GameEx\CONFIG\EMULATORS
  7. Hello and good afternoon! I'm finally, somewhat back lol, at least for a little while. Lately, I've been starting on building a racing arcade cab (which it's come a long way so far, software-wise), planning the wedding and honeymoon later this year, and even booked a trip to Disney for next January. Anyway, lol, on to the subject at hand - I ordered two lightguns from arcadelightguns.com, which uses the "aimtrak technology". The guns work great, and was easy to calibrate in windows. Mame was a little bit of a challenge though - only for the fact of certain games such as Revolution X, Terminator 2, Space Gun, etc didn't really use "light guns", and took a little while to figure out, but after a little trial and error, got things running pretty smoothly . Here is the issue I'm having - I'm trying to configure the light gun to work as a superscope in snes9x. (I'm using v. 1.5.3) The trigger button and aiming do work well. The emulator detects the other two buttons, except for when playing a game. I've tried to map these two buttons for the pause and turbo in the hotkey config, but neither work when playing a game. (I've even pressed "," for the emulator to display what buttons were pressed, and nothing registered in game). I've been trying to figure this out for awhile - so long that I'm close to pulling the rest of my hair out lol. The other question, is do you know how to configure the "cursor" button in snes9x (for the superscope)? I haven't found that option yet in the emulator software. I understand that this question doesn't really pertain to GameEx, but thanks in advance for any help!! LC
  8. I have two quick questions about setting up Nestopia.... 1. How do I get Nestopia to launch in full screen? Every time I open a rom I still have to click on full screen. 2. Is there any way to save my controller input in Nestopia? Every time I close then re-open Nestopia I have to reprogram the config input on my NES retrolink controller. ...If not is there a better NES emulater to use that will solve these problems? Thanks for the help!
  9. I'm at a bit of a stumper - the rest of my hair is about gone lol. Any help with this will be greatly appricated . I am trying to lean more on using MP4 video snaps rather than AVI. The problem that I am having is: - When running GameEx, there appears to be a lag, or skips, only when the MP4 video snaps are playing with audio (when scrolling through games). The videos only play seamless during other times when there is no sound from the MP4 video. I'm pretty sure that this is some sort of codec issue...I hope. I have tried changing GameEx themes, but with the same results. I have opened the MP4 files in Windows Media Center, and all play fine through there, but for some reason, when the MP4 snap files are played with audio through GameEx, the video starts to lag and skip. I'm attaching the log and config files, as well as the installed codecs (doc) file that I exported from Shark007. If anyone can lead me in the right direction of tweaks, or tell me what I'm doing wrong, it will be greatly appriciated, and I will keep you in mind when I start Christmas Shopping next month . Thanks in advance! LC log.txt GameEx.ini installed codecs.txt
  10. Hello! I'm having a bit of trouble trying to remap some keys using the mapping feature in the Advanced Config Editor. Currently, I have a black pushbutton that I use for MAME and a couple of emulators as a "kill switch" - to exit out of the emulator and return to GameEx. This pushbutton has been configured as "S" in the iPac. What I am trying to do is to remap the "Escape" button to "S" in the advanced config editor for the emulators that I am not able to configure to exit upon "S" in the configuration of the emulator itself. After I attempted to do this, what happens is I am unable to exit the game when pressing the "kill button", "S", or "Escape" - I would have to Ctrl Alt Delete it and end the process via task manager. Is it possible to remap the Escape button to another button by using this feature? If so, how can it be set up? Thanks! LC
