  1. Hi everyone - posting here because I have run out of leads after searching the existing posts. Recently, in the last 2-3 updates to Pinball X, my Visual Pinball tables stopped displaying the B2S backglass in Pinball X. Instead of the backglass image, my 2nd screen is just black. I can see the PinballX Back Glass.exe is running, however. What's strange is that if I launch the tables from Pinball X, the backglass loads fine in VPX. Stranger yet, backglass displays for other systems (ex: Pinball FX2). I have tried a multitude of trial and error steps including: Reinstalling Pinball X & uninstalling / fresh install to a new folder Uninstalling / Reinstalling Visual Pinball X and VPinMAME Removing Media / Re-adding Media Removing B2S Server / re-installing / re-registering Making sure I'm running Pinball X as Administrator Toggling "Auto Position DirectB2S" and "Use DirectB2S in Front End" in Settings I'm stuck - any assistance would be greatly appreciated. My latest LOG file, INI and XML for Visual Pinball are attached. FYI, I am running a 3 screen cabinet setup with the "3rd screen" being a PinDMD3. Not sure if it matters, but my DirectB2S backglass files are in the same folder as my VPX tables as well as identical copies in the PinballX\Media\Visual Pinball\Backglass folders (with copies in both Backglass Images and Backglass Videos folders) - same names as their corresponding Table files. I am creating the Megadocklets for Visual Pinball, I personally like I was doing that type sign. Roughly half of them have done from existing Draco for Pinball Arcade and the other half from scratch, using your template. The other type sign are good to put in the hollow of the DMD when the game has DMD, but these MegaDocklets are more colorful and since I have them in use in PinballFX2, Pinball Arcade and Pro Pinball, because I want everyone to see for same. At the moment I turn up the initial Pack 1 with 44 tables that are in VPX packs that I have uploaded. Later I will go up another pack with the main tables that are not yet in VPX but that we VP9. Visual-MegaDocklet-Template.psd
  3. I'm getting a "Load Error" when trying to launch Stranger Things from PinballX. It works fine from Visual Pinball X but fails using PBX. My PBX is up to date https://imgur.com/8dDy1FW
  4. I finally got a Pindmd V3 I installed it and its up and running but now Whenever I run visual pinball a tables with a dmd I get a extra virtual dmd displaying. I have in VPinmame options show DMD/Display window unchecked and use external DMD [dll] checked. The virtual DMD I can move it around but I cant right click and put a border around to resize.I am not sure what the problem is but any help would be awesome. Thanks for your time DmdDevice.ini
  5. I have my system fully functional using Visual Pinball but when I use PinballX my addressable LED strips (2) one each side are not working, everything else works in PinballX including rear flasher bar. Of course I am not an expert on the coding or xml, I do see there is an error loading the plugin in the log but can't figure out how to fix it. I can register the object in Direct Output, I run the plugin manager in PinballX and it shows up but when I go to Configure it gives me an error that it can find path. I am sure this is something simple but I just need another set of eyes to look at it. I have attached files and logs. As always thanks to everybody for your help! Scott. 7. Hello, First of all, thank you to Draco and PCTecnic who have been making the majority of these Docklet wheel images. I just love them!! I am trying to come up with Docklets for every VP Table that I have, but there are a BUNCH I cannot find. So before I starting the task of trying to make my own, I thought I would check on here and see if any on my list are out there, that I just haven't found. 10. Hello everyone, when I launch Visual Pinball 9.93 and VPX tables in Pinball X, during the game the ball is lock and the audio gets stuck, then after 5-20 seconds it unlocks and the ball is in another place on the table or goes down. About a month ago this did not happen. If I launch any table from VP 9.93 or VPX (10) nothing happens, everything works great. In attached there are the hardware of my pc, plus VP and VPX configuration in Pinball X. Please help me understand what's wrong! Thank you
  11. Add somewhere in the Game description field an entry displayed in the Releases that indicates what emulator and version(s) of VP or Future Pinball support the given table. This will help those new to the scene identify what versions they need to have installed in order to properly play the table. Also, have similar sort and filter options.

#SingleInstance force SetTitleMatchMode 2 DetectHiddenWindows On SetWorkingDir %A_ScriptDir% vpt=vpt vpx=vpx playme=/play editme=/Edit Table = %1% ;Variable direct table SplitPath, Table, Tname, Tdir, Text, Tname_no_ext, Tdrive SplitPath, Tdir,, vpdir If (Text=%vpt%) or (Text=%vpx%) { goto Tabledetected } Table = %2% ;Variable from PinballX or batch file personal use. SplitPath, Table, Tname, Tdir, Text, Tname_no_ext, Tdrive StringTrimLeft, Table, Table, 1 SplitPath, Tdir,, vpdir StringTrimLeft, vpdir, vpdir, 1 If (Text=%vpt%) or (Text=%vpx%) { if playme=%1% function=%playme% else function=%editme% goto Tabledetected } exitapp Tabledetected: IfInString, Table, VP92 { myexe=VPinball921.exe } IfInString, Table, VP99 { myexe=VPinball992.exe } IfInString, Table, physmod5 { myexe=VPinball99_PhysMod5.exe } IfInString, Table, vpx { myexe=VPinballX.exe } if myexe= { myexe=VPinball921.exe } If function=%editme% RunMytable =%vpdir%\%myexe% /Edit -“%Table%” Else RunMytable =%vpdir%\%myexe% /play -“%Table%” Run, %RunMytable% checkprocessagain: Process, wait, %myexe%, 5.5 NewPID = %ErrorLevel% ; Save the value immediately since ErrorLevel is often changed. if NewPID = 0 goto checkprocessagain Process, WaitClose, %NewPID% exitapp return ¿Y COMO FUNCIONA?
  13. I have a 3 monitor cabinet setup on Windows 7. I'm seeing an issue with a few tables where the DMD positioning is being overwritten in the VPinMame registry when using PinballX to launch the table. I can play the table by loading it directly in Visual Pinball with no issues. And, most tables have no issue at all. I've tried many of the DMD settings in PinballX config but have not had any luck. I've also verified that the table have no DMD positioning settings in them. In fact, I've tried to force the DMD positioning in the scripts and they still get moved off screen by PinballX.

  18. Hi I wanted to have a separate system logo for vpx, pmod5 etc etc without creating various PinballX systems for VP. Can we apply various system logos to the various alternate exe for VP? An example of my xml is: <game name="Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends (Data East)(1993)(javier1515)(1.0)(PMod)"> <description>Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends (Data East 1993)</description> <rom>Rab</rom> <manufacturer>Data East</manufacturer> <year>1993</year> <type>SS</type> <hidedmd>true</hidedmd> <hidebackglass>true</hidebackglass> <enabled>true</enabled> <rating>0</rating> <alternateExe>VPinball99_PhysMod5.exe</alternateExe> <Desktop>false</Desktop> </game> <game name="Airborne (Capcom)(1996)(Bodydump Jimmyfingers)(1.0)(FS)"> <description>Airborne (Capcom 1996)</description> <rom>abv106</rom> <manufacturer>Capcom</manufacturer> <year>1996</year> <type>SS</type> <hidedmd>true</hidedmd> <hidebackglass>true</hidebackglass> <enabled>true</enabled> <rating>0</rating> <alternateExe>VPinball992.exe</alternateExe> <Desktop>false</Desktop> </game> Thanks
  19. Hello everyone. I'm sure this has been reported over and over again here, but i'm going to report a problem and ask if anything is being done about it. When running PinballX on both a XP and Vista computer in desktop mode (both as admin and not), PinballX works well until loading a table, at which point the loading screen shows for a short period of time, then disappears, the screen goes black and then the editor can be seen loading a table. Can anything be done about this?
  20. This information below assumes PinballX is installed in "C:\PinballX" and Hyperpin is installed in "C:\Hyperpin". As I transition from Hyperpin to PinballX, it has been my goal to make the installation that I have in PinballX be fully compatible with what still has to be installed in the Hyperpin folders. This creates a problem needing solutions. For example the "UltraVPServer.exe" is installed in "C:\Hyperpin". It has to be there and won't run in the PinballX folder. Locations of the UVP files, back glass files, and database xml files must be in located in Hyperpin. Likewise, the UVP files are located in the folder "C:\Hyperpin\UltraVP". They must reside here. Similarly, the backglass file that it goes with it resides in "C:\Hyperpin\Media\Visual Pinball\Backglass Images" and my "Visual Pinball.xml" file has to be in "C:\Hyperpin\Databases\Visual Pinball". It is very irritating when installing a new Visual Pinball table to have to deal with two folder structures and two databases. "UltraVPServer" won't load a UVP backglass when its supporting files are not in the right places. I have come up with a solution for this. It is not the only solution as there seems to be a "symlink" (symbolic link) solution as well that someone else has implemented. For me, I don't want to deal with Hyperpin anymore and I want transparency. When I install a table in PinballX that uses UVP, I want it to be automatically installed in Hyperpin so the back glass will work. Here is my solution: Create a folder in PinballX called "C:\PinballX\UltraVP". Copy all of your UVP files located in "C:\Hyperpin\UltraVP" to this folder just so you will have a complete set in its new location. From now on, this is the only place you put your UVP files. You just want your UVP installation in PinballX to look like the way it does in Hyperpin. Create a batch file called "UltraVPServer.bat" with these lines it: XCOPY C:\PinballX\Databases C:\Hyperpin\Databases /E /Y /D XCOPY C:\PinballX\Media\"Visual Pinball" C:\Hyperpin\Media\"Visual Pinball" /E /Y /D XCOPY C:\PinballX\UltraVP C:\Hyperpin\UltraVP /E /Y /D C:\Hyperpin\UltraVPServer.exe Take this one step further if choose to do so and utilize a batch compiler like the one located at jitbit.com and turn your batch file into an executable. Place this batch file or executable in "C:\PinballX". Going forward you put your UVP files in "C:\PinballX\UltraVP", all of your media files in the appropriate folders in PinballX, and you install your new table in "C:\PinballX\Databases\Visual Pinball\Visual Pinball.xml". Execute the batch file or the compiled batch file on first run before you try to play the table, and it will copy everything over to Hyperpin and then run the "UltraVPServer" that is in Hyperpin. Close out of the server, and then execute the table. You will notice that this batch file copies all media files and all database files to Hyperpin. It does have one disadvantage in that if you were to delete a file in PinballX, it does not delete the same one over in Hyperpin. It does not synchronize so if any other programming gurus are out there that can solve this problem, please post your solution. Maybe add to the batch file script so it can compare after the copy what is in the copied folders that went to Hyperpin and if they don't match PinballX, then delete them. What is the best solution you have found for this? Is there a better solution that will run using scripting and be compatible to every version of Windows? When I installed PinballX and saw how much less resources it required as compared to Hyperpin, there was no way to go except forward. All of my media files and database files were copied over to PinballX and now the plan is just to keep the two synchronized so UVP will work.
  21. Hi Everyone I am really excited to check out PinballX after using Hyperpin for some time. Today I have downloaded the latest version and installed and configured it with visual pinball (to the correct folders, exe etc) but whenever i try to load a table it jumps back to the table selection screen. It seems to try and load visual pinball but can't? I have had a similar error with hyperpin before with an error in the database that I found and fixed, The database file I am using now works without any problems in hyperpin and have copy and pasted it into the PinballX Visual Pinball DB folder. Please could anyone suggest anything that could cause PinballX to behave this way or any ideas on how to rectify the problem? Kind Regards Witse
  22. Hi Guys, I'm building a minicabinet with a 1080p 23" monitor and a 17lcd as backglass. I've installed the latest Pinballx 1.72 and with Future Pinball it works correctly (excepr for temporal desktop view during loading process..but this is OT for now) Visual Pinball doesn't load at all, and every time you choose a vp table Pinballx start to loading and exit with a not specified error. This is part of the settings in Pinballx: [FuturePinball]Enabled=TrueWorkingPath=C:\Games\Future Pinball\BAMTablePath=C:\Games\Future Pinball\TablesExecutable=FPLoader.exeParameters=/STAYINRAM/open "[TABLEPATH]\[TABLEFILE]" /play /exitLaunchBeforeEnabled=falseLaunchBeforeWorkingPath=LaunchBeforeExecutable=LaunchBeforeHideWindow=FalseLaunchBeforeWaitForExit=TrueLaunchAfterEnabled=FalseLaunchAfterWorkingPath=LaunchAfterExecutable=LaunchAfterHideWindow=FalseLaunchAfterWaitForExit=FalseMouseClickFocus=TrueFPRAMPath=C:\Games\Future Pinball\fpRAM [VisualPinball]Enabled=TrueWorkingPath=C:\Games\vp2TablePath=C:\Games\vp2\TablesExecutable=VPinball920.exeParameters=/play -"[TABLEPATH]\[TABLEFILE]"LaunchBeforeEnabled=falseLaunchBeforeWorkingPath=LaunchBeforeExecutable=LaunchBeforeHideWindow=FalseLaunchBeforeWaitForExit=TrueLaunchAfterEnabled=FalseLaunchAfterWorkingPath=LaunchAfterExecutable=LaunchAfterHideWindow=FalseLaunchAfterWaitForExit=FalseNVRAMPath=C:\Games\VP\nvram [ExitScreen]Enabled=TrueEnableExit=TrueEnableShutdown=True Where's the mistake?
  23. So I got PinballX all set up and prettified with plays field/back glass/wheel images. Only have a few Visual Pinball tables but when I go to load them they start up fine. I can add coins, hit start, launch ball. When I hit the left flipper button Visual Pinball quits and goes back to PinballX. I had this issue with Future Pinball but BAM fixed it. I thought it was a key mapping conflict but I cant seem to find one. Any advice? PS:I have got to say I am loving Pinballx and will be donating shortly! 24. Visual Pinball Plugin 1.0.2 What is it? If you use Visual Pinball/PinMAME, I don't have to tell you what a bummer it is when you fire up the rig for some hot Street Fighter pinball action and your guests stare at the table editor like deer in the headlights. Maybe it was a pain in the ass for you to set up too? I know it was for me! After I finally figured out how to load the tables, I couldn't exit them without a mouse. Yeah, I hear ya saying "well gee Adultery, there's an AutoIT loader for that". Sure there is, but I'd rather not get complicated with it. I just wanna set it up and play pinball. Enter the plugin. Basically you set up a couple things and let the plugin handle your "light work" for ya. Launch the table, a nice, pretty, and customizable form comes up and covers up the table editor, then goes away so you can play your game. Simple as that. I juiced it up some too... You can press [ESC] to get out of the emulator quickly and get back to picking new games to play! I won't get too technical on ya, but basically when you press [ESC], GetAsyncKeyState picks it up and sends the "Q" that quits to the editor. Then before ya know it, the process is stopped automagically and you're all set! No need for mapping anything! Well, except your play keys! LOL! I even took it a step farther and built in a nice pinball-ish LED font. Yay for fashion!!! That's it! Nothing to it, right? How do I use it? Three minutes or less and you're all set. Select your Visual Pinball emulator from the drop down list. Browse to the Visual Pinball EXE. Set your snap path that you'd like to show on the "cover" screen. (Yes! Animated GIFs are supported too!) Set a default snap for that rare occasion you don't have a snap to show off. Choose the background image you'd like to use. Select the color you want the text to be. Click "SAVE" or "PREVIEW" Go play, hassle free! Wow that's super easy! What if I find a bug? Report it here! Any questions? Ask away. Feel free to offer suggestions on how I can make it better. If some cool thing occurs to me or is suggested I'll happily post a beta here for you to try. I spent all day yesterday and all night last night testing and tweaking this (it's almost 10 AM and I've had it for the night). It's working perfectly now. Goodnight my friends! Download it here: Beta Version: There is currently no beta available for this plugin. NOTES: Special thanks to Tempest for his Visual Pinball wrapper... It served me well over the years. This plugin is sort of a tribute to that. I also want to recommend howardc's Visual Pinball Launcher. It really is sweet! If you haven't tried it... You should! Update 1.0.1 ensures compatibility with his awesome work.
