Hello, I haven't played in about a month but after an update to Gameex yesterday, the Servostick doesn't switch over like it used to. It had been running problem free before. I haven't made any changes to the system or Gameex configuration. Testing the stick using joytray shows that 2-way and 4-way functionality still works so the hardware is fine. Any help is appreciated. GameEx.ini log.txt PlugInUltraStik.ini

Good Morning my Friends. I have a weird GameEx Experience.. I can't find anywhere about this problem.... I hope you can help me with it. I'm using GameEx Arcade (I love it because it's simple... and not that Fancy!! and will do the job ) But my main problem is when start windows .. I start GameEx and the only emulator that I have is Mame .197 . 1- After GameEx boot up for the first time it run super fast and fine... I select the game that I want to play and The game loads................ but without the gamepad controller . unresponsive. 2- If I exit the existing game..... and I open the same game or another one.. the controllers will work just fine and every game after that... and the rest of the games. 3- If I run mame without the frontend for the first time after windows booted , Mame will boot just fine with the joystick /controller support... everything okay!!.... If I close mame (without front end) and I run GameEx and load a mame game... all the controllers will work just fine.. It seems that Mame needs to run once to get usb gamepad support.... I'm using an Dell OptiPlex 960 Core2 Quad at 2.88ghz Please help.!!!!!! Thank you Fellow ones!!

Hi, I just want to post a possible solution/cause of input problems with some keys in PinballX. I was encountering the problem that the shift keys were not working within PinballX. I changed the assigned keys for menu navigation but nothing worked. After starting a table (Enter did still work), the shift keys worked as intended in Visual Pinball. Finally the Esc key also did not open the exit dialogue when back in PinballX again. After checking the ini file and finding all in order, I discovered the solution. One of the function shift sliders on my Flightstick X45 (throttle module) was moved to a different position. After changing the switch position there, PinballX worked as intended again. Hi, I'm trying to setup a third joystick (4 way) using an Xin Mo arcade controller that supports 2 gamepads by using the unused inputs for 4 buttons that belongs to the 2nd player's "gamepad" In the Windows XP game controller setup, all is well as moving the third joystick triggers the correct buttons e.g 8,9,10,11 for Player 2. However in GameEx, I have assigned Player 1's button 8, 9 to be my "back" and "select" buttons in my custom joystick input. So when I try to use the third joystick it will output "back" and "select" even though the third joystick belongs to Player 2's button set. So it seems that GameEx is unable to distinguish the buttons between Player 1 and Player 2 even though Windows and Mame sees them as two different buttons. I know I can hook up the 4 way to my other joystick but it would be nice to be able to use this a separate joystick for those 3 and 4 player games in Mame. Have I missed a configuration or is this a limitation of the software? Thanks for looking into this and I await your reply. GameEx.ini log.txt custominput.ini

Sup GameEx. So, I haven't gotten around to building a cab yet (I'm moving soon), but I'd at least like to get a bad-ass control panel in the very near-future. I've been using a mishmash of keyboards, mice, controllers, and flight sticks for all of my gaming needs, and I think it's time I invest in something a little more arcade-appropriate. The most likely contender is the X-Arcade Tankstick, since it has a ton of buttons, two joysticks, a trackball, is relatively affordable, and a few of the guys in our Highscore Competitions have and enjoy theirs. My only issue with purchasing this would be that I wouldn't have 2 dial controllers, or by the looks of it, any way to add any to it in the future. My ideal controller would have at least 6 + 6 buttons (for fighting games), 2 joysticks, 1 trackball, 2 dials, be USB, and under $350. Any leads?

I have spent about 30 hours testing and trouble shooting possible causes for this problem and can't find any user solutions. I am attaching my log and configuration file. The problem is this: when my Gravis Gamepad Pro is plugged into my USB port, exiting a table or game does not return me to PinballX but instead crashes to windows with a directx error logged. This crash to windows will occur for every system (VP, FP, Mame, and all other personal additions). When the game pad is unplugged, the problem goes away. This problem is not exclusive to just version 1.78. I run PinballX on Windows XP SP3 in a pincab with an IPAC board connected and keyboard (just added the gamepad as well). Recently I installed Mame so I wanted a game controller that would be useful for this and the game pad works fine for Mame as long as I am not running it in PinballX. Here are a list of tests I have run and none of these options worked: 1. Unplugged my IPAC board to see if multiple devices cause a conflict. 2. Disabled all plugins and personal scripts. 3. Ran PinballX with and without Xpadder operational. 4. Reinstalled all software including the latest Directx version for XP 5. Temporarily ran a virus scan to make sure I have no viruses. No virus software is permanently installed to disrupt gaming. 7. Tested the problem with version 1.73 and got same results. The Gravis Gamepad Pro is just a joystick device. I have to use the "ESC" button on my pincab no matter what. FP demands this and VP sees "ESC" as a "Q" in its key assignments. "ESC" is fixed in FP and it can not be changed. Within the PinballX settings, if I assign "Q" to exit an emulator, pressing the "ESC" button on my pincab while running a VP table causes the mini VP "Paused" window to pop up with options to "Resume Game", "Debug Window", or "Quit to Editor". This is unacceptable because now, I can't get back to PinballX unless I quit to the editor and use my mouse to close VP and then click back on PinballX on the taskbar. This means the setting for exiting the emulator in PinballX has to be "ESC" as well and not "Q". So the question is this: With a joystick device attached and considering I am exiting a program, why does the joystick disrupt PinballX and cause a crash to windows? log.txt PinballX.ini

Hey all, When I built my arcade, I did not have a great deal of knowledge when it came to 4-way and 8-way controllers. I loved fighting games back in the day, so I went with the HAPP Competition 8-way controller. However, the thing is pretty poor with games that utilized the 4-way model. I am wondering what you guys might recommend in regards to a good joystick that switches between 4-way and 8-way fairly easily and would be an under mount that fits a 3/4" thick panel. I found the Mag-Stik Plus over at Ultimarc.com. That one looks very nice and seems to fit what I'm looking for. I am just a little hesitant on the $35 price tag I guess. Any recommendations?? Thanks!

Hello and good morning/afternoon to all!! The way I have my mame arcade control planel set up is four four players with the first play area on the far left and the fourth play area on the far right. This is what I would like to do: *During the games that call for 1 to 2 players, I would like to have the play areas on the control panel to be layed out as: "3rd Player"------"1st Player"------"2nd Player"------"4th Player" And during the games that call for 3 or 4 players, I would like to have the play areas on the control planel to be layed out as: "1st Player"------"2nd Player"------"3rd Player"------"4th Player" - I am also using a 4 player iPac to set up the control panel. Here is my question --- If this type of configuration is possible, is there any way I can set this up using GameEx, or even through two different versions of MAME? The reasoning behind this is for when there are one or two players playing a game for up to two players, both people playing will be standing centered in front of the arcade machine. When there are four players, of course, it will be spread out a little more evenly. Thank you all in advance for all your help and hard work!! LC
