  1. Hi everybody, I have a little problem, I first used emumovies sync to download all artworks and videos snaps for my systems, then I try to use gameex auto downloading feature....but it seems that both are not using the same folder naming convention. One is using '_' between words for example as the other is using spaces. And Gameex Evolution seems to use is SYSTEM_NAME variable to create folder like [console handled] Sega..... I am a bit confused now, why not using the same naming convention and is it a way to change gameex conf (specially with gameex evolution) to be synchronized with emumovies ? Thank you for your help
  2. This one's @Tom Speirs really. Tom - is there any chance on your next update to EmuMOvies Sync you can add an option to specify a system's root folder directly instead of the app making it for you. Problem being, I already have my folder setup for my systems in a standardised format (off the GameEx format, of course), but EmuMovies Sync crates it's own. For example, I have the folder "Sony Playstation" which then contains subfolders (e.g. "Game" "system") but then EmuMovies creates a folder called "Sony_Playstation." I guess as you have to specify the system when choosing the download location, this should work OK? So - any way of cutting out the creation of "Sony_Playstation" and just putting the sub-folders into the download location directly? Edit: Main issue being, if I manually move the sub foldrrs this ruins the sync. Therefore, its except tge existing folder structure or nothing...
  3. Hi Guys, Hopefully some of you are willing to shed some light on this. I've been trying to set things up with GameEx for a HTPC setup. But I just can't figure out how to organize my rom collections so it included only one, and the best possible, game per region. Excluding any japan or other oriental regions which language I can't read. What is the best way to do this? And with this get accompanying media from EmuMovies. For example, I started off with the No-Intro Super Nintendo collection. I have the "Nintendo - Super Nintendo Entertainment System (20141014-214745_CM)" rom set. From EmuMovies I have the "Nintendo SNES [Videos][480p][HyperList 1.1_No-Intro][EM 20150209)" 480p video snap set. I also have the "Super Nintendo [snaps][HyperList 1.1][EM 20110627]" set as well as the other artwork sets for SNES. So I got all the goodies but now what? In advance I tried the Auto Downloader with the full rom set but that didn't work out too well. I also read on the forums that it doesn't always work that well also. As for creating a one game per region (1G1R) list for the roms I've searched and searched. Came across RomSorter but don't know how it works. Don't know if it is the best way to go. Can anybody help out?
  4. I have a couple questions about the artwork auto-download feature in GameEx! I realize the new setup is pretty simple, so maybe I'm over-thinking, but I want to make sure I understand it right! There's nothing I could find in the documentation, so please help, thanks! 1.) What directories does it auto-download to? Does it simply download to the folders that are set in my GameEx configuration? 2.) Does it automatically "update" an asset if a new item is replaced on EmuMovies? For example, if they upload a "better" video with the same file name, is it automatically added to GameEx? 3.) I have a yearly subscription there so I have access to all of the files. Does it download the high quality MP4 files as default? How does it know which one is preferred? 4.) When I go into the MAME section it says, "Downloading MAME artwork" for a moment but then goes away. How do I know if it's done, or downloading? What I want to make sure of is it's not downloading a whole second set of files when I already have the whole set completed using the download service from EmuMovies (I have GameEx pointing to the directories created by the download service). Thanks so much for the clarification!
  5. I'm a subscriber to EmuMovies and I have downloaded the sets of video snaps (and regular snaps) for my MAME ROMs. EmuMovies is great, but they have provided me with a bunch of "blank" videos. What I mean by "blank" is not that they don't display anything, but they display a short message saying "a video does not exist" or "this is a mechanical ROM and cannot be played" (not exact verbiage). I'm wondering what everyone else does with these videos (and photos). Currently, there are many of these "blank" videos (and snaps) in my ROM list when I select "All MAME ROMs". Therefore, when I am viewing the main GameEx menu it shows random videos and snaps which is often one of these silly/annoying "blank" videos. So I could approach this problem in 2 ways: 1) Filter my ROM list to get rid of the mechanical ROMs. I would like to do this anyway, but currently I'm having trouble accomplishing this without also removing the different versions of other ROMs (i.e. I want to have all versions of "X-men" available to choose from). But that is a different problem and I'm going to create a separate post for that. Still, this option would not get rid of the many videos and snaps that say "a video does not exist". 2) Manually delete these "blank" videos and snaps. I think I can do this easily. If I arrange the files my file size then all of the blank ones should group together and I can delete them easily. The problem with this is that I use the Downloader Utility from EmuGames. This utility (I believe) will detect missing files and re-download them. So, at some point in the future I'll have to manually delete them again. Still, I think this is my best option. Does anyone know of a better option? Has someone figured out how to keep these videos from showing up in the main GameEx menu?
