After spending a while setting up about 15 emulators, all configured to retroarch except 1, which was setup up with another emulator. All was working perfectly. Until today. i click on the console, select game, it goes to boot up into the game except all i get is a black screen. I tried all of them inluding the non retroarch one. the only way i can get a emulators to work is i press, select a random game, and they all seem to work via this. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I am a noob and need help. All my tables are working fine within Pinball X, but when I exit my Future Pinball tables both my backglass and playfield go black. I am only using the 2 displays. I have to ctrl alt del and kill 2 pinball x and 1 backglass apps to get out. This goes out to my desktop. All other VP9 tables exit to the PBX wheels with no issue. I am currently running Windows 7 and Future Pinball is running Bam through fploader (in compatibility mode to see load screens). I tried without Bam and with compatibility mode turned off with same results. Any ideas much appreciated! TY.

Hi Completly new to all this and I'm just testing out software before making my cabinet build (both cab and pc). I've got PinballX working "nicely" with VP, FP and FX2, got table booting up fine with single screen so far (my eventual aim is 2 screen + pinDMD3) But I can't for the life of me get PBA to work. The machine i'm testing on *can't* do DX11, the machine I'm going to make *will* be able too, so if thats a prerequisite I'll just have to stop the testing for now. This means I can't test with the FreeCamMod that I see lots of you use. When I try to launch a table, pinballX "closes" to black screen and then it just hangs for maybe 10 seconds, then the desktop is diplayed....PBA doesn't appear to launch at all? This is the case both via Steam and if I install offline outside of Steam. The XML file i have is just the one that automatically generates but i've attached here... This is my PinballArcade config setup... [PinballArcade] WorkingPath=C:\Pinball\PinballArcade Executable=PinballArcade.exe Parameters=-applaunch 238260 Process=PinballArcade.exe WaitForSelect=50 Enabled=True InterfaceVersion=3 I've tried with all InterfaceVersions but I don't think they are having any effect because the app just doesn't seem to execute? Here's the log from the last time I tried to just boot Mars Attacks I think... 18:28:23.7 13/03/2017: PinballX - Version 2.31 18:28:24.9 13/03/2017: Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1 64-bit (3.9GB) 18:28:24.9 13/03/2017: Loading Settings 18:28:24.9 13/03/2017: Initialize Component 18:28:24.9 13/03/2017: Initialize Display 18:28:26.1 13/03/2017: Loading PlugIns 18:28:27.0 13/03/2017: Hiding Cursor 18:28:27.1 13/03/2017: Hiding Taskbar 18:28:27.3 13/03/2017: CPU: AMD Phenom(tm) II X2 545 Processor 18:28:27.3 13/03/2017: GPU 1: ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series 18:28:27.3 13/03/2017: Displays: 1 18:28:27.3 13/03/2017: Load Game List 18:28:27.4 13/03/2017: Loading Database: Pinball FX2 18:28:27.4 13/03/2017: Loading Database: Pinball Arcade 18:28:27.4 13/03/2017: Loading Database: Future Pinball 18:28:27.4 13/03/2017: Loading Database: Visual Pinball 18:28:27.4 13/03/2017: Finding and matching artwork and videos 18:28:29.0 13/03/2017: Loading Game Statistics and Scores 18:28:29.3 13/03/2017: Loading Surfaces 18:28:29.6 13/03/2017: Finished Loading Surfaces 18:28:29.6 13/03/2017: Initialize Audio 18:28:29.7 13/03/2017: Set Keyboard Controls 18:28:29.7 13/03/2017: Initialize Joystick 18:28:29.7 13/03/2017: Auto configure Visual Pinball 18:28:29.7 13/03/2017: No Joysticks Attached 18:28:29.7 13/03/2017: Started 18:28:35.0 13/03/2017: Launch System 18:28:35.0 13/03/2017: Waiting for threads 18:28:35.0 13/03/2017: Disposing display 18:28:38.2 13/03/2017: C:\Pinball\PinballArcade\PinballArcade.exe -applaunch 238260 18:28:42.0 13/03/2017: C:\PinballX\PBFX2_DMD_Borderless.exe 18:29:32.8 13/03/2017: Exit System Control Pressed 18:29:40.2 13/03/2017: Exiting 18:29:40.2 13/03/2017: Showing Taskbar 18:29:40.2 13/03/2017: Unhiding Mouse Cursor 18:29:40.2 13/03/2017: Disposing Plugins 18:29:40.2 13/03/2017: Saving Settings 18:29:40.2 13/03/2017: Bye Just not sure whats happening? Hello, I have several computers with GameEx on it. One of these old computers goes into a black screen when I try to run GameEx on it. The mouse dissapears for a few seconds while it's black and then pops into view. I can't get out of the black screen until the mouse shows up, then I just press the ESC key and I return to the desktop. I just installed GameEx on it. The Operating System is Windows XP. The computer is old, but still works. What could be the problem?

Good evening people. I have a very peculiar problem, and I need somehelp Sometimes when I launch game EX I get a black screen. I can hear the Game EX intro music but after that I am not even able to hear the curser move when I try to navigate blind. Also the ESC key does not work, I have to literally CTRL+ALT+DEL and end task via task manager to exit game EX. log The odd thing is this happens randomly per boot, as in the only way to get it to work is to restart my PC until it works. I did a forum search and found nothing related. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

The one thing I have found that causes this to happen is when I launch it with 2 of the same controllers connected I get a black screen. If I turn off the controllers (they are wireless) it starts displaying. Then I can turn one on and use it no problem. However, when turning on the second controller again GameEx freezes until I turn them both off. What I am using: - Microsoft Xbox wireless adapter - Two Xbox One wireless controllers Log:

Hello, I'm new to GameEx and the whole world of retro gaming. I tried posting this to another topic but got no answer so I thought I'd start a new one. I can get my ROMs to load in GameEx and see them in the list. However, when I select the game it won't open and I just get a black screen. I can get the games to work outside of GameEx when I just run it through the MAME emulator. Can someone take a look at my log files and tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks! GameEx.ini log.txt

Hi. I can't figure out why this isn't working for me. My MAME ROMs work outside the front-end (in MAME32's UI), but when I try to load them from within GameEX, I get a black screen and get kicked back to the list of ROMs after a couple of seconds. I have attached the log file and .ini file. Can someone let me know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks. log.txt GameEx.ini

Hi guys, Something odd is happening with my GameEx and MAME setup. When I press the 'Esc' button while MAME is active, this action kills MAME and GameEx will re-appear. No problem with that, this is how it should be, right? But sometimes, after exiting MAME and going back to Gameex, the screen will go black temporary. After about two seconds, GameEx re-appears again. Two seconds later, a black screen again. This repeats itself continuously. During the black screen, the controls do not work, only during the seconds when GameEx appears. Has anyone a clue what causes this? It does not happen all time btw.

I went to Yestercades in both Red Bank and Somerville New Jersey a couple of days ago and I was in awe by how beautiful the original Asteroids/Asteroids Deluxe vectors were. I'd never seen them on the original cabinets, only multigames and emulated. I know it's not possible to emulate the brightness of a vector monitor or the extra bright bullets, but I've seen some screenshots of MAME + HLSL Configurations that make Vector Games look at least a little better. Only problem is, whenever I turn on HLSL, I just get a Black Screen with sound. Have any of you gotten MAME and HLSL to work? I'm using MAMEUI64 0.153 by the way. Here's a thread with the configuration I'm attempting and some screenshots. http://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Number=309968&page=&view=&sb=5&o=&vc=1

I am new to GameEx, hello everybody! I am experiencing a black screen right after the nag screen (I _will_ donate right after it's up and running :-). I have installed GameEx properly, but even after a new install it's just the same. I have attached the log file and the current GameEx ini (in which I haven't made too many modifications after my last reinstall). Please also note that the MAME paths in the GameEx.ini and the Log file differ - which seems odd to me. The MAME path in the GameEx.ini is the right one and I can start Mame properly on the command line from that location. The path in the Log file is an old path where there is no current Mame installation anymore. Probably a hint at the black screen... Thanks very much for helping me out (and sorry in advance if that should turn out to be a dumb question...)
