  1. Fair enough, and thanks for your help. I already contacted Andy to see what he has to offer. I appreciate your help and wish you a healthy and happy new year!
  2. Thanks Tom. I am running the latest version of GameEx (12.45?). What would you suggest I do to resolve this issue? Buy a newer Ultimarc ArcadeVGA card, look for different drivers? Do you want to see the log? Anything to point me in a right direction?
  3. Thanks, it's attached to this post. gameex_ini.txt
  4. Thanks for the link -- I have seen that article before. This only happens within GameEx. I *do not* see those lines in any other programs or any of the MAME games.
  5. I have a question please: 1: On the attached screen-shot image you’ll please notice these weird sets of horizontal lines which runs in the video down the right side of the menu. I have circled the suspect area - you can’t miss it. This didn’t just start happening, it’s been this way ever since I could remember, but after seeing a few other MAME cabinets recently I now realize or believe this isn’t normal. I have a real arcade monitor (Gardner), using the original Ultimarc ArcadeVGA card running Windows XP. This seems to happen on all and every theme I try unrelated to the resolution I pick. Are you familiar with this, and do you know how to fix or adjust those annoying lines out? Thanks, Reuben
  6. Tom, I notice Windows Media Player 11 is being offered on the MS update website. Do you foresee any issues in installing this in the machine where GameEx is running? I do use the Jukebox portion of GameEx often. Thanks, Reuben
  7. GREAT! Sorry I can't make any suggestions about the other emulators. I only use MAME and Daphne. Reuben
  8. Tom, I'm at 7.08 now and it's working perfectly. Thanks, Reuben
  9. I would upgrade to MAME 0.11 and GameEx 7.08 first. Youâ??ll need to upgrade your rom set as well. There are plenty of ways to do that. Email me if you need to be pointed in the right direction. For the startup problem, try changing the theme, certain themes will not load up properly with certain video / hardware combinations. The indexing could take a very long time, even longer then you waited. Also, if you have Symantec Anti-Virus software the screen might goes dark for a while. Try disabling all other unnecessary processes running, and waiting a little longer. Good luck, Reuben
  10. Tom, Congratulations on a fabulous review! I just read it and it is right on the money. Good luck and I wish that you do very well with GameEx. Reuben

    Voice Plugin

Tom, FYI, on my system (using 7.05) the voice stops working after a while. Reuben
  12. Tom, Nice job with 7.03. You fixed the "volume up" issue I was having. The plug in idea is very nice as well. I am using the SAM voice on my PC for the voice plugin, because that's all I have access to. I can probably d/l a voice pack from MS but it's fine for me the way it is. I did notice that after GameEx went into screen saver mode and then came out the voice stopped working. Just thought I'd report it back to you. Thanks for the fix! Reuben
  13. 1: Run any MAME game. Press TAB on your keyboard to get into the MAME config menu system. Go to General Input. Scroll down to ESCAPE, press enter then press "L". You have to be sure that "L" isn't already used else where or you'll screw things up. 2: Sure, when in the above menu system, press enter (SELECT) on the key you want to program. Then press both keys at the same time. They should get assigned to the button your were programming. You should go to http://www.mame.net/ and see the docs. Good luck. Reuben

    Volume Up?

Hi Tom, Thanks for the reply. And yes, I am using the latest MAME32 0.11 and the latest GameEx 7.02. Thanks, I was going nuts. I'd love to know, when you find out, if it's a bug or something wrong here. Reuben
