  1. Thank you all for the suggestions and responses. 1) With "Escape Key Exit" set to either Yes or No, I am still getting an exit on 2+4. 2) "UI Cancel" is set to backspace. 3) The issue occurs when I have people over, and it happens more often than you'd expect. I would feel quite silly putting a sign on the machine stating, "Please avoid getting excited and accidentally pressing coin and start at the same time!"
  2. Hello, After setting up my rig four years ago, I've had one bug in my machine that I just haven't been able to get rid of. The issue is that games are exiting when I don't want them to. Through trial and error, I've found that MAME is exiting when I'm inside GameEx when keys 2+4 are pressed together. This happens from any keyboard. This does not happen in a stand-alone MAME session, and this does not happen with any other emulators inside GameEx. I've spent many hours switching every setting trying to work around this. Years ago I removed the functionality of ESC such that games couldn't possibly mistake this key. Something is still translating 2+4 as an escape sequence. Question - Can I configure this, or is 2+4 hard-coded as an exit sequence? Thanks, Chris GameEx.ini
  3. Okay, I found a config setting that might help everyone. If I change "Hide/Show Taskbar" to "No" then both YouTube and karaoke work for me 95% of the time. I still sometimes get a karaoke error: As a side note, the "Add all to queue" karaoke function does not add any songs to the queue. It seems to put a bad entry in the playlist that stops the karaoke module. Cheers
  4. Okay, I can recreate the issue without YouTube. It seems that if GameEx starts in fullscreen mode then the bug is destined to occur. This is true when the user starts GameEx initially and when the app restarts itself after a video. Broken scenario: 1. Start GameEx Fullscreen 2. Press Alt+Enter to go to windowed mode - CRASH Working scenario: 1. Start GameEx Windowed 2. Press Alt+Enter to go to full-screen mode 3. Press Alt+Enter to go to windowed mode 4. Repeat from step 2 indefinitely without error
  5. Okay, I did some testing on my machine of the YouTube functionality... I can repeat the scenarios below on my machine and they ring true every time. I have tried this with and without a codec pack with the same results. The errors happen for me in YouTube and karaoke in the exact same way. Working scenario: 1. Start GameEx windowed 2. View a YouTube video 3. Return to GameEx 4. Repeat from step 2 and watch several videos Broken scenario: 1. Start GameEx full-screen 2. Choose a YouTube video - JIT error! 3. Watch the YouTube video 4. Return to GameEx - JIT error - CRASH!!! Halfway scenario: 1. Start GameEx WINDOWED 2. Watch several YouTube videos... 3. At the GameEx menu, hit Alt+Enter to switch to FULL SCREEN 4. Watch one YouTube video in full-screen mode 5. Return to GameEx successfully 6. Watch a second video and return to GameEx - CRASH!!! Halfway scenario 2: 1. Start GameEx WINDOWED 2. At the GameEx menu, hit Alt+Enter to switch to FULL SCREEN 3. Watch one YouTube video in full-screen mode 4. Return to GameEx successfully 5. Hit Alt+Enter to switch to WINDOWED mode - CRASH!!! This seems to be the workaround, although it is not ideal: 1. Set the taskbar to not stay above other windows (or hide it) 2. Leave GameEx windowed but fully stretched across the screen A few features would make this a feasible workaround for the time being: - A new config setting to freeze window resizing - A new config setting to hide the min, max, and close buttons in the Windows form (via Windows APIs) Cheers, Chris
  6. I had a tangent regarding app launching, but in hindsight it appears to be unrelated. (I set up an external application, and pointed to an EXE, but GameEx wasn't hooking into it, and the game wasn't starting. As a workaround I created a batch file and pointed to that instead.)
  7. I'm getting the same issue. It happens with YouTube and Karaoke. The karaoke player launches, but during the hand-off GameEx pops. Thanks, Chris
