Wish I could tell you why. It will not run without all the extra stuff. DL2 yes, but for some reason DL1 wants it.

Brian- for some reason it will not run without the whole command line in DL1

MAke sure you copy the WHOLE command line and paste it under game options. should look like daphne.exe lair vldp -framefile vldp_dl/lair/lair.txt -blank_searches -min_seek_delay 1000 -seek_frames_per_ms 20 -homedir . -bank 0 11111001 -bank 1 00100111 -noserversend -sound_buffer 2048 -fullscreen -x 640 -y 480 settings.bmp

Ok issue solved with a bunch of help from Brian. It came down to two issues. One being a redundant command line. Make sure the command line for game options in the Beta version is like this -framefile vldp_dl/lair2/dl2-framefile.txt The other problem is that it seems when the Beta version grabs Roms from the internet that Lair2 is a bad ROM. Will let them know about this and hopefully it will be fixed. Your Game ROM should be lair2 Game options should be -framefile vldp_dl/lair2/dl2-framefile.txt Understand that even though the ROM was corrupt DAPHNE still ran it without any problems, so don't be fooled. Hopefully this will help you out if you are reading this

Daphne 1.0 downloads everything you need. I also have the 20th Anniversary DVD set. Plays fine under Daphne just not Gameex. I was the one with the same problem of setting up the Beta version under Gameex that you posted my solution.

DL2 works fine under Daphne 1.0, but not under Gameex. All othe games do work under Gameex except DL2 Have ROM set to Lair2 Command Line is daphne.exe lair2 vldp -framefile vldp_dl/lair2/dl2-framefile.txt -blank_searches -min_seek_delay 1000 -seek_frames_per_ms 20 -homedir . -latency 175 -noserversend -sound_buffer 2048 -fullscreen -x 640 -y 480 All other games use same sequence as the command line. Tried without all the extra stuff ( -blank_searches -min_seek_delay 1000 -seek_frames_per_ms 20 -homedir . -latency 175 -noserversend -sound_buffer 2048 -fullscreen -x 640 -y 480) also. If anyone has the running under the 1.0 please let me know how. Thank you in advance.

Can't get it to run in Gameex under beta version of DaphneLoader. Any thought? All other games are working in Gameex. Just not DL2

Ok finally got it. For those of you who are running the beta and have the 20th Anniverary this is how you set it up. 1. Start DaphneLoader 2. High light Dragon's Lair 3. Hit configure button 4. Choose Advanced tab 5. Next to Display Command Line choose Enable 6. Hit Apply then OK 7. Now hit the start button and a command line box will pop up 8. Copy what is in the box 9. Now exit Daphne 10. Make sure that you also Exit DaphneLoader from the bottom right of your screen by the computer clock 11. If you do not exit the DaphneLoader it WILL NOT RUN USING GAMEEX 12. Open Gameex Configuration Menu 13. Choose Daphne 14. Under Game 1 Rom type in dle21 which I beleive plays all new scenes 15. Under Game 1 Options paste what you copied from the Command Line Box 16. Make sure Game 1 ROM is Enabled 17. Enjoy

Is the framefile folder supposed to be empty? Does it make a difference if I'm using daphne 1.0 Beta? I do have the 20th Anniversary box set it it all works in Daphne.

Appreciate the help, but it goes to black screen and when I pull up Windows Task Manager it tells me Daphne has encountered an error.

I understand people can get Daphne to use Gameex as a frontend. I'm having no luck what so ever getting it to run using Daphneloader though. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
