  1. At http://www.retroblast.com you can find a really cool startupvideo for your Mame-Cab!
  2. Thanks Tom! To all german users: ... und daddelt was das das Zeug hält! ;-) (German slang for "play as much as you can"!)
  3. That's diffcult. In a context "most played games" it's "am häufigsten gespielte Spiele" "most played" is "am häufigsten gespielt" but that sounds really stupid as we don't use flections (like more or most) so often. If you can also say "frequently played" it's "häufig gespielt" or "frequently played games" is "häufig gespielte Spiele" i would prefer this. If you want to say "frequently played NES Games" it would be "häufig gespielte NES-Spiele" (with the "-"!) I often tried not to translate everything exactly, but so that it looks and listens good. German is very sensitive in flections and other grammar things that are much more easy in other languages. (imho ) If you want to use the words on Buttons, you can of course write the fist letter uppercase. Beware of the umlauts in here when you copy the words! The Msgboard displays them well in my browsers. Yours cupid
  4. I'd say: no Fun-Forum. I like this forum.
  5. Great work Tom!
  6. Hi Tom, here is the newest German translation file. Sorry, i can't help you with the DVD-Graphics because of the lack of time. But i will translate your ini files whenever possible. Thanks for your great work. Cupid German.zip
  7. I have used Jpac and Ipac 4 in my Sega Naomi Cab, but since it went back to my cab-dealer i now use a pair of Sega Dreamcast Arcade sticks modded to USB. I also have some X Box Controllers and i'm bulding a converter for Nes, Snes, SMS, Atari and so on... But i still have problems with my the Atmel-microchip and USB (One controller works, but not two more...). I also have a Windows MCE Remote, but the reciever its not connected to computers doing emulation or gaming.
  8. Hi Tom, 1. i'm not active in Mame Dev. 2. since i'm able to program and own a MCE i once tried to write my own Mame/Gamelauncher Frontend using the MCE-Dev-Kit for MCE-HTML applications. Since it worked for a few games i tried it with 10000 list items and it was to slow. Then i tried to use Mysql but that was only a little bit faster. I somewhere posted my work at thegreenbutton.com, but i decided not to use my MCE as a game-machine since old scool games do not really look good at a 42" plasma. So it came to a real cab with at first mamewah and now GameEx. 3. Yes. I'd like to make custom favourite game lists with Foldertree support. 4 ;-). I'm active in developing a babelfish (all in one converter) for Console Controllers. I'm ready with one Converter working for one SMS, Nes, SNES, N64, Atari or PS Controller (it automaticly recognises which controller is connected via a DB25), but i'm currently working on simulating a mouse for Atari paddles and PS Analog joys. If i'm able to get a joystick and a mouse working with only one USB interface, i could also emulate a keyboard for these joypads... But i currently have some USB-Problems when simulating more than one device. (since i have to program my microcontroller in assembler) Why: i'm think that 40 USB converters in one PC won't work :-). My Converter is one PC joystick and stays one PC joystick, even if you unplug a controller and insert another. So you can also play NES Games with a Sega Pad without the need of configuring the Nes Emulator once again. It is always a 6 Analog controls and 24 Buttons USB Joystick, with often the most of the controls not working. (IE. Nes has only X and Y axis and 4 buttons). The other analogcontrols and buttons are set to Zero. I'd really like to be able to play Zelda with my nes pad and Sonic with my sega pad without reconfiguring everything after every restart. Even with 8 USB Converters the whole USB bus mixes up after every restart! And Nes1 is joystick 3 where it was Joystick 1 before restart. If I'm able to simulate more than one USB Device (Goal is 4 Joysticks, 4 mice and one keyboard) i will post it at BYOAC. Total cost for 1 Controller is 15â?¬ at the moment, but i think i need a display... Yours Cupid
  9. As you know i like the "open source" idea. So I'm always willing to help, but i dont think that GameEx as a multi!!!-Emu-Frontend (and not only mame) is needed for linux. Don't misunderstand me, i use many Linux-Servers at work. I really like Linux. I think that several features would be more easy to implement under Linux, but i think there are too many emulators running only on Windows. Yes, there are many emulators also available for unix, but the windows Versions are often more stable. Example (contra): As far as i know there is a daphne for unix, but it can only be used with a Laserdisc Player... No player emulation linke in daphne for windows. I have not yet found a really good N64 Emu under Linux. I need the access to other windows Machines (there are my videos, Mp3s and so on) and i don't like samba on linux machines. Example (pro): Mame works great under Linux (i.e.: afaik multigun is no problem), you don't need a gui like KDE -> more MHz and RAM for games... No problem with ramdisks (if you really have much ram) you can really do everything with your hardware via command line. The license is worth tinking. I really don't know, but since i have enough windows licenses for all my computers i won't use Linux at this time. I would maybe use a dual-boot option, to play multi-mice, -spinner or -gun games. Also i would like to test the CHD-Games under Linux when loaded from a ram-disk (if i really buy 3 Gig of RAM). BTW: I'd like to test this under windows, too. ;-) If GameEx works on linux I would use it for these things, but i would not use Linux as my "everyday" cab system since i'm more interested into console emulation. Cupid!
  10. Sorry, have to do something more for my job. I will do them this weekend.
  11. Automatic ini-updating works for me... I have no problem with the updates on all my computers.
  12. OK, i will resize them and clear all the edges asap.
  13. works well for me (tested on WinXP SP1 P4 (256 mem), Fujitzu-Siemens Board WinXP SP2 Athlon 1300 (512 MB Mem), Asus Board WinXP SP2 Athlon 2800 (1 GB Mem), AsRock Board WinXP-MCE SP2 Athlon 2800 (512 MB Mem), Barebone with NForce2 ).

    nag screen

Wouldn't it be possible to send some left right left right left right commands after starting mame? The games should not have any problems with this, should they? (Like in the Emus, where you can send everything to switch to fullscreen, turn Menu Bars off and so on) Cupid
  15. I think my icons could good be overlayed when switching between these aspect modes. Of course a little bit smaller (thats why they are so simple) and maybe with bigger letters in the middle). And with some GameEx Background (thats why i uploaded the PSD, so that you can change the background.) The PSD has many Layergroups, you can change one Aspect mode by hiding one group and displaying another. (if you're not familiar with Photoshop). Benefit: No translation is needed and it's easier and faster. Great work!!! Cupid!
  16. does it mean "to" play and "to" resume "to" restart this is what i translated or playing and resuming and restarting
  17. Great addition... I hope you are planning a TV-Record-funtion as well. Do you have a PVR 250/350 in your system? I have a 350 with my MCE. to your DVD-Player: I translated the words in the attached file. But it seems to me that many don't know what every Aspect-Ration/Zoom means. Would it be possible to add little icons? can you read photoshop? Cupid ge.txt
  18. Great improvements to gameex. Your DVD-Player works great. It seems I have to build a DVD-Slot in my cab. ;-)
  19. Hi Tom, New German Translation. Try to leave the Umlauts öäü and in. Last Time you deleted all. If you cant programm Umlauts and into gameex you could instead write ae(ä) öe(ö) ue(ü) ss() but that looks very ugly... here you are: --- translation cut out --- edit: Your bb deletes all Umlauts... so I attached the german translation. Please look for to much Carriage-Returns in the file. I don't know if everything is all right. Cupid german.txt
  20. often this cache thing can be solved by adding <META HTTP-EQUIV="Pragma" CONTENT="no-cache"> <META HTTP-EQUIV="Expires" CONTENT="-1"> to your website. Often proxys cache some sites, by adding this to your head-section you will prevent proxys from caching your site.
  21. Great! I have to install it, when i'm back at home!!!!
  22. Great Work! See you ;-) Cupid!
  23. you said you have mame32. Have you tried mame (from mame.net)?
  24. If you need a translation of some words (for new features), you could post them here and i will translate them to german. Cupid
