  1. I really wanted to play this one but I was battling Murve at Reactor for that month I think. I'm going to give it a go. Just doublechecking - do I turn demo mode off to play? The directions show a couple different settings.
  2. Thanks M.O. Just last night I ordered up 2 new joysticks for my tankstick. I went with the I.L. Eurosticks. I just saw recently in the Tutankamun post you responded to mine that yes joysticks do wear out so I thought I'd better get a couple new ones coming.
  3. This looks really fun and extremely challenging and I'm hoping to play next year. Life's too short, and it seems like all I do is stress about my job and how far behind I am at everything work and home related. I'm then too burned out for something I really like to do which is videogames. I need to make changes and put things more in perspective. I bought an X-Box One and don't even play it. I actually prefer my arcade a lot more. Give me a shout next year because I want to do it. I can't match the pros - Exed and M.O., and others, but maybe I can contribute a little bit.
  4. I saw others playing this one so I gave it a try. This is a cool game. I really like it. I'll have to play some more but for tonight this will be my highest as my reflexes are getting slower the more I have some nice beverages. STC 845,200
  5. Here's a little better score for me on this one. As the Elf: 11,720 STC I've been trying some different strategies so this score's strategy was to get a black ghost for 8,000 points.
  6. Thanks Han and M.O. !
  7. Hey thanks M.O. Here's my $.02 - lol Yeah, Centipede doesn't have a continue. I just pumped in a bunch of quarters before I started playing. I only used one credit for this score so it's legit. I agree for games that don't have a continue I shouldn't do that. I never actually thought of that as an issue because I wouldn't do a continue anyway and submit it but now that you brought it up, I will only pump in one quarter for now. If you look back at the other scores submitted in Centipede, I'm not the only one. Some of them show one credit so that means they originally had 2 credits, then played one and took a pic but still had one credit showing. This was the best Centipede game I've ever had including actual arcade play so please will you accept my score? I was on fire with that game and might not ever equal it again. I worked hard for it.
  8. This is definitely hard with just one person. Its much more fun with multiple players. 1 coin 8,085 as the Warrior STC
  9. Here's a good run I had back in May that I'm finally submitting. 47,947 STC Its been a tough summer and I'm hoping to play some more in another month or 2. Thanks
  10. Hey Adultery, did you make it there yet? What did you think?
  11. I did try playing this one but I really struggled moving up and down at the right times getting in the up and down tunnels. It kind of felt like playing PacMan which is a 4-way joystick game with my 8-way joystick where control is just not precise at all. I think this game is an 8-way so maybe I just need to get better or maybe my joystick is wearing out. My stock Xarcade tankstick is 5 years old or so. Do joysticks wear out? I need to do some testing to figure it out.
  12. I'm going to play this game this month. I do remember liking it but I don't think I was very good and never got very far. I think its kind of a hard game. This game appeals to me over City Connection. Hey cool - I just got my signature working.
  13. I played a lot today and finally got a pretty good score. Interestingly, I assumed I was going to get another life at 150,000 but didn't get one. It looks like there are only extra lives past the timer level at 30,000, 60,000, 90,000, and 120,00. I'm not totally sure I got the 120,000 life but I think I did. Here's my final score for this month. STC 154,585
  14. Thanks tthurman. Ok, I've been practicing this past week and seem to had regressed badly and couldn't top my score or even get close to it. Yesterday and this morning I've been starting to get a rhythm going. I'm going to play on and off today and hopefully will put up a big score to match Exed. I'm curious if Exed would be even better with a wheel/pedal combo like I've got or if his gamepad is better.
  15. Here's my wheel and pedals control setups in screenshots. I'm not entirely sure why I didn't need to make any tweaks to the GameEx joystick settings. Everything just worked in Mame when I hooked up the USB wheel and pedals to my computer. I'm guessing its because I had the -joy in the Mame command line. The 2 biggest setbacks I had was that the default Mame deadzone is set at 30% which is way too much slop in the wheel before the car actually starts to turn. I've since changed the deadzone to 0% in Mame.ini. The 2nd problem I had was I couldn't set up the brake at all. I finally looked up the actual controls on Spy Hunter and found there isn't a brake on the game which I had completely forgotten. I put the paddle and pedal sensitivities to 1 but this was before I fixed the deadzone and at that time these didn't seem to make much difference. I had them at 200 or so also so I'm not sure what these 2 settings really do. The wheel and pedals fit and clamped perfectly on my cabinet and tankstick. I did actually modify the RecRoomMasters cabinet when I first got it by extending out the platform so that there is more room for legs and that definitely helped for the pedals too.
