  1. the games/roms are on a local hard disk. I can confirm that the timestamps of the folder changes when i add/remove roms. i must have done something strange that only i'm encountering it. strange!
  2. i figured out that the \data\emu_xx.* files are created when i create a new emulator, so after backing the whole folder up, i deleted all the emu*.* files, and restarted GameEx. The lists got refreshed in this manner. Other than this, i'm still not seeing the updated lists. 8( I can just do a script to remove the emu*.* before gameex is launched i guess.
  3. I'm currently running registered v7.09 on Windows XP Pro SP2, with .net framework 2.0 I remembered a few versions back, whenever i add/remove roms from the folders, the game list will be automatically updated. However, with this version, (and probably some of the earlier ones as well), i cannot see the newly added roms, but i still see the roms that are deleted still showing. The workaround that i found is to use the configuration wiziard, copy the emulator config to the RAM, and then copy it back to the left hand side, remove the original emulator setting, and then i can get an updated list. I know that for MAME, i can manually choose the "update list" option. What can i use to force an update for the emulators section? Anyone figure out what's wrong?
  4. I'm a registered user and i've just enabled the DVD On Disk to test it out. What file formats is this feature looking for? DVD ISOs, VOBs? Any advice will be greatly appreciated! Cheers
  5. agreed that the loading of the emulators' list and the jukebox have both gone amazingly fast. It's time to load up my gigs of mp3 files.
  6. The first time i ran 665 after installation it actually prompted an error message and crashed. Launching it again (before i had a chance to save the log file of the crash) went through w/o issues. At the main page, my emulators menu option was gone. When i go into the MAME section and then return back to the main page, the emulators option appears! I believe someone mentioned about this same issue in 6.62? I am able to do the actions that stuartc88 seems to have problems with.
  7. Tom, is it just me or am i not able to select the last 5 roms in the emulators list after i've usd 6.57? Perhaps it's due to the top 5 games that are now listed? this occurs on all my emulator game lists.
  8. Did you add a language support in the regional settings in windows? I have the same problem, in that if i choose a regional settings of Chinese, i'll get the nag screen, and if i reset it back to US English, the nag is gone.
  9. Tom, where do i enable this feature? Just downloaded the version 6.46 today and cant find any options to enable this. Thanks
  10. Ahh... indeed it was only in the SNES torrent. Thanks for the reply!
  11. eXo, Thanks for the tip. It fixed the issue for me too 8). Cheers
  12. Hi.. in some of the previews torrents, there are LCD files. How do i use them in GameEx?

  14. I'm still not able to get it working. I found the only 16bit flag in # Specify a Video to play at Startup. AVI, MPG:, and i changed it to Use16BitColour=True The DVD section is like this: [DVD] EnableDVD=True Codec=0 DVDFFDSHOW=1 EnableDVDDisk=True DVDPath=D:\ Any ideas where to change as well?
  15. I'm a registered user, and have been trying to get the DVD feature working. If i use WMP 10 on its own, i can view the actual DVDs on the D: drive without any problems. When i use GameEx's DVD feature, i'll get a black screen, which i presume is WMP loading, and getting back onto GameEx itself. I modified the config.ini to point the DVD to D:, which is my DVD drive. Am i doing something wrong ? Appreciate any help as this is my last non-working feature in GameEx that i need.
  16. This is really cool! I like all the consoles' graphics being in a similar display fashion. thanks
  17. i totally agree too. Got a new pc and loaded GameEx, and now my wife and i have a easy to use front end to watch videos, photos, and for me to play some good old classic mame, NES and SNES. It was definitely one of the best money spent to support this great work.
  18. i've a 20" widescreen lcd, and the emulators' stretching dont bother too much, except for Gameboy games.
  19. i'm having this problem too.. still trying to figure it out on some of the MESS forums.
  20. another request... is there a easy way to verify the version number? The versioning of the gameex.exe is showing 0.0.0.0.
  21. Hi. Thanks all for the previous tips. I'm in need of some advice on how to do the following: 1) Playing actual dvds on the DVD-rom drive. I've registered my GameEX, and i ensured that the DVDPath=D:\ (D: being my DVD-ROM drive letter). Whenever i select Play DVD, it just goes to a black screen and back. Manually playing the same DVD on WMP 10 is fine. Is there somewhere else that i need to change ? 2) I think the Radio feeds cannot handle realaudio feeds yet. If so, i tried a workaround with mediaplayer classic, where i use a batch file to start mplayerc "feedurl" and put it in the external programs section. I can launch the player and listen to the stream, but this made gameex into the *invisible* background. i wonder if there's a way to launch the batch file (with the feed), and get back into gameex w/o interrupting the audio. and for gameex to stop that feed by killing the mplayerc process before launch a game or something??
  22. Thanks for the tip! That works..!!
  23. Hi. can someone advise how can i disable the screensaver within gameex? thanks
  24. Hi.. if i want to have a specific bezel for just one of the games (eg DK JR), how would i go about doing it?
  25. hi.. i just registered gameex and i really love this app! Thanks! Here's my initial list of feature requests, and sorry if these are already covered.. as i'm still catching up on the documentations and the forum. Multilanguage Support for filenames (Chinese/Japanese etc) for videos, jukeboxes, pictures etc. Jukebox -> Ability to view --> Albums by Artists --> Albums by Genre --> Artists by Genre etc... kinda like how the Library function works within WMP Pictures -> Using joystick to move forward/backward while viewing a single photo I think if i view a photo, i have to go back before i can choose the next photo.
