  1. Awesome Tom that worked. I had skipped this originally because I was configuring the computer away from the joystick.
  2. I am trying to get gameex to use the first two buttons for player1 to be the select and back buttons within gamex. These two buttons are mapped by the keywiz to ctrl and alt, and unfortunately can not be changed because of an issue with the key wiz not recognizing the uploader software. Anyway I have browsed through the scancodes txt file and can't seem to determine exactly which codes to use for ctrl and alt. I've tried leftcontrol and rightcontrol but that doesn't seem to be correct. Also when I boot the system I have a usb keyboard plugged in, so not sure if that interferes with what is generated in scancodes.txt or if gameex just creates a generic scancodes.txt that doesn't differ from machine to machine. Any help on what I should be using to map ctrl and alt in the custominput.ini would be great. 1 Escape 2 D1 3 D2 4 D3 5 D4 6 D5 7 D6 8 D7 9 D8 10 D9 11 D0 12 Minus 13 Equals 14 BackSpace 15 Tab 16 Q 17 W 18 E 19 R 20 T 21 Y 22 U 23 I 24 O 25 P 26 LeftBracket 27 RightBracket 28 Return 29 LeftControl 30 A 31 S 32 D 33 F 34 G 35 H 36 J 37 K 38 L 39 SemiColon 40 Apostrophe 41 Grave 42 LeftShift 43 BackSlash 44 Z 45 X 46 C 47 V 48 B 49 N 50 M 51 Comma 52 Period 53 Slash 54 RightShift 55 NumPadStar 56 LeftMenu 57 Space 58 CapsLock 59 F1 60 F2 61 F3 62 F4 63 F5 64 F6 65 F7 66 F8 67 F9 68 F10 69 Numlock 70 Scroll 71 NumPad7 72 NumPad8 73 NumPad9 74 NumPadMinus 75 NumPad4 76 NumPad5 77 NumPad6 78 Add 79 NumPad1 80 NumPad2 81 NumPad3 82 NumPad0 83 Decimal 86 OEM102 87 F11 88 F12 100 F13 101 F14 102 F15 112 Kana 115 AbntC1 121 Convert 123 NoConvert 125 Yen 126 AbntC2 141 NumPadEquals 144 Circumflex 145 At 146 Colon 147 Underline 148 Kanji 149 Stop 150 AX 151 Unlabeled 153 NextTrack 156 NumPadEnter 157 RightControl 160 Mute 161 Calculator 162 PlayPause 164 MediaStop 174 VolumeDown 176 VolumeUp 178 WebHome 179 NumPadComma 181 NumPadSlash 183 SysRq 184 RightMenu 197 Pause 199 Home 200 Up 201 PageUp 203 LeftArrow 205 Right 207 End 208 DownArrow 209 PageDown 210 Insert 211 Delete 219 LeftWindows 220 RightWindows 221 Apps 222 Power 223 Sleep 227 Wake 229 WebSearch 230 WebFavorites 231 WebRefresh 232 WebStop 233 WebForward 234 WebBack 235 MyComputer 236 Mail 237 MediaSelect
  3. Finally after about three more attempts I've finally got it working correctly with an Nlite install. After going back and changing the nlite config to keep the microsoft jet files it still didn't work. Luckily I found an older nlite install I used on my bartop arcade with Nlite that had successfully worked. I pulled the session.ini from that install and used it on this one, and gameex is working as normal. Perhaps this session.ini will be useful to someone else trying to install a small build. The iso is 175 mb's and is pretty stripped down. 4. I'm going back and creating a new nlite install and will reimage the machine. I've found the option to remove or keep microsoft jet, so I'll include it this time. Hopefully this will work correctly.
  5. I looked around some previous posts, so it looks like I'm going to have to format the machine and start over?
  6. Tried it without luck. When I tried to install the service pack it says there's a newer one already on my system. I also searched for the msjet40.dll on the system, but I couldn't find it.
  7. Finally got this working correctly with the Nlite session.ini in the last post. I'm reinstalling gameex on a new pc for my cab. I'm thinking the issue may be with something I took out using nlite when I installed winxp. Anyway here is the error log for gameex. It starts to open goes to a black screen and then back the the desktop. Looks like this is the error: Error: The 'Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0' provider is not registered on the local machine. 13:27:46.7 2/16/2009: GameEx: Version 9.88: Starting Log 13:27:46.7 2/16/2009: Operating System Platform: Win32NT 13:27:46.7 2/16/2009: Operating System Name: Windows XP 13:27:46.7 2/16/2009: Operating System Version: 5.1.2600 13:27:46.7 2/16/2009: Checking for versions of .net Framework installed 13:27:46.7 2/16/2009: .net Framework 2.0 Installed 13:27:46.7 2/16/2009: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+, 959MB 13:27:46.7 2/16/2009: 2.2Ghz 13:27:46.7 2/16/2009: Running Randomize() 13:27:46.7 2/16/2009: Loading PlugIns 13:27:46.7 2/16/2009: Checking for applications to Launch On Startup 13:27:46.7 2/16/2009: Running Misc startup tasks 13:27:46.7 2/16/2009: Setting Menu types 13:27:46.7 2/16/2009: Opening Configuration File 13:27:46.7 2/16/2009: Getting Configuration Values 13:27:46.7 2/16/2009: Using Theme: Default - Media Center 13:27:46.7 2/16/2009: Checking for alternate Image Directory for Theme: Default - Media Center 13:27:46.7 2/16/2009: Using Images from theme: Default - Media Center V1\MEDIA\ 13:27:46.7 2/16/2009: Launching HideOS.exe 13:27:46.7 2/16/2009: Initialising Video/MNG DLL's 13:27:46.8 2/16/2009: GameEx will check for media insertion (may affect performance) 13:27:46.8 2/16/2009: Hiding Taskbar 13:27:46.8 2/16/2009: Is Media Center running? 13:27:46.8 2/16/2009: Checking/Creating LCD Registry values 13:27:46.8 2/16/2009: Check Media Center Exit/Start Mode 13:27:46.8 2/16/2009: Media Center Mode 2 13:27:46.8 2/16/2009: Video previews on. 8. If you want to actually remove certain groups of roms like adult or majong I've had alot of luck with the mame content manager program here: http://www.mameworld.net/mcm/. It hasn't been updated lately, but if you get the latest catver.ini file here http://www.mameworld.net/catlist/ and use it with this program to get rid of stuff you don't want.
  9. It seemed to work great this time, I don't know what I did differently lol So all I need to do is move the mame32.exe that i just created and replace the one in my current mame32 directory?
  10. Ok cool I will try this again tonight. I tried compiling a couple of days ago when I was in a rush, and I messed something up because there was no mame32.exe in the source folder.
  11. Quick question. If I just want to use .129 mame, and not another of the u1 or whatever versions, I assume I can just skip those steps in the process?
  12. This plugin is great Headkaze. I am still trying to get everything setup, but it seems to be working great for my pac drive and ultralux leds
  13. I am running a seperate emulator for cps3 which I can still do shouldn't be that big of a deal.
  14. Thanks I'll take a look at that. I know my version doesn't support the video changes made to mame, but I can live with that.
  15. I wanted to get some peoples inputs on the version of mame they are running on their cabinets. I stopped updating mine awhile ago and its stayed at version .106 for well over a year. What all am I missing out on, other than a few games by not upgrading to the lastest version.
