  1. The USB device is a zero delay encoder similar to this one I see on EBAY; http://www.ebay.com/itm/Zero-Delay-USB-Encoder-to-PC-Joystick-For-Arcade-DIY-KIT-Sanwa-Parts-MAME-/191558265304 I see projects where somebody stuffs a PI Zero into a console controller but I don't know enough about it. I was thinking maybe somebody here might have made their own Mame wireless device. Thanks!
  2. Please let me know if I need to post this in another area. A long time ago, I built a large wooden box to house a standard setup of 2 joysticks and a bunch of buttons. It connects to my PC via a USB cable. I want to know if anybody has any advice about converting this to wireless (maybe via Raspberry PI or some other Bluetooth device) In addition to converting to wireless, I am also thinking about adding a spinner and a trackball (like I said, the box is LARGE) Any thoughts/suggestions?
  3. Worked like a charm! thank you!!!
  4. I am terrible about knowing what names to call everything, so I will describe my problem. When I am in MAME, I hit TAB and a popup menu appears where I can modify input keys. For "SELECT" I mistakenly hit ESC - now I can't SELECT any game because it ESCAPES. I can't change it in that pop up menu, because I can't SELECT! I made a mess of it, can I change back with a text editor? Which file contains those settings? Is it as easy as looking for an element named "SELECT = 'ESC'"? Any help is appreciated.
  5. I upgraded from Windows 7 and I did not have to reinstall Gameex. The only thing I have tried so far, is playing a few games and it works great! Is there anything else that I can test, or poke around with? (ps I am not a Gameex expert, but I will do what I can to help)
  6. I may have failed to mention that I am an idiot. My graphics card has a vga connected to my arcade monitor. A couple of days back, I ran an hdmi cable to my TV to watch a movie. It turns out the Mame was appearing on the TV screen, which I could not tell since it was turned off. All better now. Thank you for the help!
  7. The mame file version is 0.141.0.0 I never ran it outside of gameex, I am not sure how to, sorry ( I will give it a try) Its the command line version and I don't know the proper syntax. I put 1 rom in the same directory as the mame.exe and typed "mame tetrisp" at the command prompt. It did not work. Mame had been working perfectly via Gameex 2 days ago.
  8. I was rolling along fine and then I changed themes and added the -cheat option in my configuration. (after putting the cheat.zip in the appropriate folder of course) Now when I launch Mame and start any game, I can hear the correct game plaing, but I have no picture. Just a blank screen staring blankly back at me. The NES and Atari 2600 emulators work fine. It's just Mame. I have attached my config ini, do I need to supply any more details? Windows 7 64bit AMD Athalon II X2 215 2.7 Gh 4G Ram Any suggestions? GameEx.txt

    Spinner and Gameex

Tempest, I knew I should trust you when I saw that member name, you rock! I got a personal note from 'iano' referring to that DirectX problem and he gave me a link to a thread he started which lead me to an entry by Tempest about reinstalling DirectX, and it worked great. And thanks also to Brian Hoffman. I did the -mouse option in Configuration/Advance Mame Configuration and viola, I have spinner action! I would have replied sooner but I got carrined away and played about 50 games of Tempest in celebration! thanks bunches for the pushes in the right direction

    Spinner and Gameex

I appreciate the information and advice - thank you. GameEx was erring out on me with a DirectDraw error and I have not been using it lately. I still had the tempest spinner issue but I never tried to edit my ini with the "-mouse" option, I will try that when I get my DirectDraw problem figured out.
  11. Let me be the first to say 'Amen', yeeehah, and hooray! I would love to see a site like this.

    Spinner and Gameex

Hey Wonko, its me Wonko Apparently you did not follow the forum rules or maybe you put your question in the wrong area. Whatever you did wrong, nobody is going to reply or try to correct you. Keep checking back and maybe somebody who is smarter or who has been here longer will ask the same question and you can get your answer there. Until then, keep gaming! thanks Wonko
  14. Hi, this question has probably been asked and answered but I can't find it. I am new to GameEx and I love it! The only problem I have so far is this, when I play Tempest in Mame32, the spinner works fine. When I fire it up in GameEx, it does not work at all. I went thru the basic configuration settings and I don't see a place where I can enable the spinner. Can someboady tell me what to look at/modify? thanks
