  1. Hi guys - when I turn on my PC I want it to boot straight into GameEx. Is that what Instant Sheller does? Thanks
  2. I can't seem to locate an option to disable it in the Setup Wizard Thanks
  3. I managed to sort out the emulator issue, but the original question remains - does GameEx have the function to map keys so that they are effectively then used in all emulators, or does the mapping have to be done emulator by emulator? Thanks
  4. Retroarch is an emulator that runs SNES games? I thought it was a frontend like GameEx. Thanks, I'll take a look Just so I'm clear before I start getting into it, once I've downloaded RetroArch and can run the SNES games on it, am I then pointing GameEx to RetroArch instead of snex9x?
  5. Hi guys - I appreciate this is really an SNES question, but I can't find an active forum for the emulator, so hoping I can get it answered here. I've got MAME set up and my keys mapped - the Esc key exits the game. I obviously want to map the same keys in Snes9x so that my Ipac works properly, but I can't map the Esc key to make it exit the game in Snes (the Esc key in Snes hides/shows the emulator tab). I was sure that I could set a key in GameEx to work in all emulators - so no matter which emulator I was in I could press Esc and it would exit the game? Am I right in saying that, and could you walk me through how to do it please? Thanks
  6. Thanks Draco - I was looking in the wrong place 🙃 Problem sorted
  7. I did - I looked there a few times, but if it's there I can't find it. I assumed it would be in the enable/disable features section, but I can't see those particular items, nor some others I would like to hide. Is it possible that I can't see it because I'm using GameEx Arcade and it's an abbreviated Set Up Wizard?
  8. Thanks again for your help - that Command line worked and got the emulator and games running in GameEx. Oddly enough though, I can see the top of the Emulator screen (as if I were running the emulator in isolation). I'm sure it's a basic setting to remove it, but I couldn't find it?
  9. Can I remove/disable these menu options that I'm not going to use?
  10. Hi guys - as previously mentioned, I'm doing a re-build of a cocktail cabinet where the previous PC died. I'm keeping it really simple this time - only 50 or so games, using GameEx Arcade and probably only Mame and SNES emulators. A couple of newbie questions please - I've got the Mame games running fine on GameEx Arcade, but I can't get the SNES games to load. They're running fine in the emulator. I'm sure it's a problem with my Command line, but have tried a few options to no avail. What should it be saying? (below). One other question, on my last build I had a specific Çocktail Games menu, where I'd specified which games would run in Cocktail mode and would screen flip. I can't work out how to do it in the latest GameEx version. Any advice please? Thanks
  11. Thanks, and I agree with you re the Mame version - but I've got hundreds of old Mame roms and I have no idea where to start looking for updated versions of them given it's not legal to download them etc (or is it?) So if I'm hearing you right, if I try to use my old version of Mame and roms I'm going to run into issues with the latest version of GameEx Arcade?
  12. An update to this - have decided to install GameEx Arcade with the new codecs as recommended. Going to keep my old Mame version though - I installed the new Mame version and a lot of my roms wouldn't run, so given they were running fine on the old version I figured why mess with it. I haven't tried to run other emulators yet, but suspect it will be a similar story. One early issue though is that my old version of GameEx won't run on the new PC (maybe something to do with 32-bit versus 64-bit?). It doesn't need to run obviously, because I'm re-building, but I was hoping to reference some of the config settings that I used so I could copy them in the new system. Any suggestions? Thanks
  13. Thanks very much, that’s really helpful
  14. Hi guys, I was an early adopter of GameEx, and built a couple of Mame machines using the GameEx frontend. One of the machines I built has died, and I'll need to do a re-build with a new PC. It was running GameEx V12.75. I've still got all my original GameEx Config files, but I'm thinking I may be better off just starting from scratch with the latest GameEx version (?). Last build I put in a bunch of emulators - Mame, Sega, Daphne - the list goes on. But this time I think I'll keep it simple and just use Mame (and download the latest Mame emulator) - I've got more than enough roms for that. The other things I'm considering are that the last build had no internet access, but this time I'll probably include a wifi card. The only other thing to think about is that it's for a cocktail machine, and I recall last time it was a pain working out all the games that had to flip screen for player 2. Any early advice before I start getting into it would be appreciated. Any tips or tricks I should be mindful of moving up so many versions of GameEx? Thanks in advance
