  1. Lol, I wouldn't necessarily say we're the only ones interested, this thread has been viewed many times
  2. I get the impression that it's designed specifically for playstation games. I'm not really sure how this works, though. I can't imagine how this doesn't screw up the game. I was hoping someone may have already tried this and can attest to it.
  3. This is certainly interesting. I'll have to give this a run if I switch back to ePSXe. It depends on my mood, honestly, which playstation emulator I use.
  4. Disc Combining Kits Does anyone know anything about this? Apparently it was intended for ePSXe, but I wonder if it would work with any emulator? Has anyone tried it yet? This would make my psx collection quite complete if it really works!
  5. Hmmm...yes this will work. Isn't launching from dameon easier?
  6. If you want ePSXe to work with gameex, you must use dameon tools or some other virtual drive to mount the games. If you have bin/cue games with multiple bin tracks, epsxe doesnt like those. I'd have to dig around to find my config file if you want it, but my epsxe booted find after a little toying around.
  7. Well....better is an opinion. psX DOES outperform ePSXe on most every standard, but there are certain things that ePSXe that pSX refuses to do, such as better graphics rendering. That being said, I would highly recommend switching to pSX. I doubt you would notice much difference in gameplay, except that pSX is easier to set up, more responsive, and is more compatible with most games than ePSXe.
  8. anyone who wants to support this request should go to the feature request thread on dolphin's forums and let them know
  9. Hey guys, so here's an update on the Wiimotes: I can't see a way to automate the process without someone coding a command into dolphin, and so such thing exists....yet. I posted a feature request on dolphin's forums, here's what I said: "My feature request is that I would like a way for the wiimotes to be picked up as the game is started, without having to interact with the wiimote plugin. So, my understanding of the plugin is that you alternate pressing 'Pair Up' and 'Refresh' until your remotes are recognized in the windows bluetooth stack, and then subsequently recognized by the plugin. So, how about this? Leave an option for an 'Automatic Pairing,' where this sequence of entires happens automatically after the game starts playing, perhaps for the first 30 seconds or so while the Wii warning screen displays, and then someone could just press 1 and 2 simultaneously as the game starts, and their remote would be entered into the bluetooth stack and recognized by dolphin."
  10. It looked promising to begin with, but it seems that the thread has been long dead, and most of the talk regards recording wiimote movements and transcribing them to a gamepad. I'll keep looking into it, maybe I'll post a feature request regarding this to dolphin's google code site.
  11. Ah yes, I've seen that. Nothing there about messing with the wiimote plugin. Well, I'm assuming the wiimote functionality is a plugin to the actual emulator, I can't say if that's actually the case... Edit: it is a plugin, but I still can't figure out a way to interface with it through the command line.
  12. Ok here's my progress: So far, I have been unable to figure out a set sequence for connecting the remotes without interacting with the emulator. Once I do that, I should be able to automate what happens with a string of commands or a script. When the emulator is open, before the game is loaded, I click on the Wiimote button, then click 'Pair Up' then click 'Refresh'. Before I hit this string of keys, I press the '1' and '2' buttons simultaneously so Dolphin knows which remotes to pick up. This works, and seems to be the only reliable route for connecting the Wiimotes. So, the question that I believe needs answering is how to send these entires to Dolphin without using the Dolphin GUI. Does anyone know if Dolphin accepts command line entires? I tried messing with the Alt+F5 command, but that seems to do nothing. Whether the Wiimote reads as being connected or not doesn't change when using these shortcuts, but you do get a message notifying you that a Wiimote has been connected or disconnected.
  13. Hey all, I'm thinking of picking this up to see if I can't get it working properly. I'll keep you posted on the progress.
  14. I would really like support for unzipping rar files. I have entire collections of wii games that are rarred and wiiscrubbed, and it would save a considerable amount of hdd space if I was able to play the same way i did with my 7-zipped playstation games. The registered unzip feature is one of my favorite things about gameex!
  15. Well, as far as media center software is concerned, I have been working on my HTPC for 2 years now. I've heard of MediaPortal, and I've actually tried XBMC before. Each piece of software has their advantages and disadvantages, depending on what you want to do. If you just want to watch and record live TV from a computer without any hassle or setup, then WMC is the way to go. If you want something that looks really nice, and has amazing client/server functionality (after all, that has a lot to do with it's history), XBMC is top notch. I haven't taken MediaPortal seriously last I'd seen it, but since I've taken a second glance, they have come a very long way in terms of video file organization and management. After messing around with it for just one day, it does everything I want it to do. EDIT: So, I've been looking around on the forums, and I didn't see anything substantial on people launching GameEx. Awhile ago, people were using My Programs, but now, people seem to be using MultiShortcut. Now if only I could get the damn thing to work right... DOUBLE EDIT: Ok, so My Programs is no longer under development, but theres another plugin called MultiShortcut. You can use this plugin to turn any Windows program into a plugin for MediaPortal, complete with it's own menu entry and customizable title! It's not exactly user-friendly yet, since it's still under development, but it works!
