  5. not from me but its on the mameworld.net news so i put it here for you all ChrisQC Hey all, ClientServerMAME and ClientServerMESS 0.8 have been released. You can grab them here: https://github.com/MisterTea/ClientServerMAME/downloads 0.8 is a complete rewrite from scratch, but the basic premise is the same: A desync-free, low latency multiplayer support of MAME and MESS emulators over the internet. The main difference between 0.7 and 0.8 is that 0.8 uses a peer-to-peer network architecture for distributing player inputs, and only uses the client-server architecture for correcting desyncs, so latency is much lower and desyncs are rare. I've made a video showing ClientServerMESS running Super Mario Kart on an internet simulator, check it out here: I'm working on a program called MAMEHub that will allow players to meet and arrange games. MAMEHub provides a GUI interface to CSMAME, so people will not have to mess with the command line parameters. MAMEHub also checks to see if you have correctly forwarded port 5805 to your PC, and will warn you if it is not correctly forwarded. MAMEHub is currently not ready for public release, but is in an alpha testing phase. If you wish to be part of the closed alpha test, please email me or send me a PM. For more details and updates, check out my blog: http://10ghost.blogspot.com/ I try to squash as many bugs as possible but with so many emulators and roms, I'm sure there are bugs out there. If you find any, please post a comment here or on the blog. Posted by Digitalghost at 08:58 PM
  6. Thanks
  7. i noticed something since the 2 last update of gameex...sometime when i try to go the the net play list i got a "not available" instead of a "no game" ...and sometime it freeze when i try to go to the netplay list ...one time it froze so bad i got to reboot my cab
  8. i don't see any game in the list ,i will host it try to join me
  9. funny ...i got 4 to 8 request a day but i'm the only one to host a game :S does that make sense ?
  10. thats propably why it does not work direcX update maybe or try to reinstall vmame or...a fresh format ?
  11. 3. Enable Client/Server MAME in the "SETUP WIZARD" under "custom" option. then make sure your path and exe are correct in the "Advance MAME" setup in Advanced Config. 5. To start serving a game make sure you have port 5805 UDP allowed on your ROUTER and Windows Firewall or use upnp ( vista and windows 7 run GameEx in Admin mode one time so it will configure windows firewall all by itself ) 6. once in GameEx select "MAME" from the main menu you should now see a new option "MAME NetPlay" this is the list of hosted online game that you can connect to as a Client 7. to Host a game choose "All MAME Games", select a game from the list, then in the Game Info screen select "Request NetPlay".
  12. last test didn't work too ... wich windows are you using ? if its vista or seven try to make your mame.ini open a command prompt "in administrator mode" and your file should be created using the command vmame.exe -cc
  13. some say that you don't need a config file
  14. sorry after 3 shot i was pissed off and did not reply anymore lol update your client/server to 0.7c and we will test again also check if your 5805 port is open on both router and windows firewall or else it won't ever work
  15. it was me dude ...are you using the latest client/server ? the latest version is 0.7c get that and it will probably work
  16. ok thanks now i understand better i will still work on some guide for gameex use and submit it ,about the gigawing game the ping was 115 ms here no lag at all in either control or main game ,it was a perfect test
  17. i don't want to annoy annybody here but is this a gameex feature ? or a mame feature ? i know its a mame derived stuff but the way gameex temper with it is not the same way than with the command line ... so that part (at least) should be explain better ..see all the emulation world now know that this cs exist but whats the point if its too complikated to use ? see somewhere i read that you need a mame.ini... and now you don't need it annymore. again i don't want to annoy anybody i can help built that guide and you may correct it later
  18. as i said somewhere in the begining of this thread... a well writen guide is needed for gameex user ,see this is not some user friendly stuff héh ! i'm not a newb and did got a hard time make that work a good guide where it explain if mame.ini is needed or not, where to put file etc etc this is an awesome feature ! i like it alot but why not make this simple so there may be more people comming to play
  19. ok i guess your right but i will continue to use mame.ini annyway i need it to enable cheat in my mame built and also there is some tweak option in it i was just replying to someone who needed help about that mame.ini ,i'm not the one asking
  20. well there is your IP adress in the mame.ini wich is needed i guess but i may be wrong ...
  21. for those who have vista or windows seven you have to execute the command promp in "administrator mode" for the mame.ini put your file somewhere like c:\vmame then in the command prompt type cd.. cd.. cd.. til you are in the c:\ only ..then type cd vmame now the vmame folder is on so imput the command vmame.exe -cc ,if you did it in admin mode it will work and your file should be in your vmame folder
  22. a good feature that i may suggest is "an autorefresh" of the game list every 5 second or somethin coz for now i need to back and select each time i want to update the list ,could be a great thing to add i tested the "request get you out of the screen saver" it did work and i hear the sound but i got a mame ui error that i have to click ok for ,it work but need some adjustment keep up your good work ChrisQC
  23. dunno who played "Joust" with me yesterday but it was verry funny the nickname was "boboss" or somethin ... here it was verry fluid as usual ( as a host ) this nickname and me were succeful in connecting and playing each other at least 3 time , i got my computer and my cab next to my bed lol sometime i hear the " should we play a game? " sound and i jump off the bed to accept the request loll so everybody who want to test somethin please feel free to ask me any game subjection i really enjoy that new feature and can't wait for the next version of the server wich is supposed to correct a lot of bug !! please stay connected and try to share a game online so i could try again to connect to someone else ( never did it quite right ...) by the way sorry for my English as i am a "Quebeckers" from Quebec, canada so i'm used to speak French
  24. yeah no trouble,i'm here to test too and allow so i remarqued somethin when you connect to me. in the console it seem to have a hard time maping the control ...are you using a joystick or somethin ? try a test with keyboard as control to see if it goes ingame.
