I noticed that launching youtube videos in game-ex open s a browser and plays youtube off that in game-ex... problem is, its sloppy and staggers (very slow playback) anyone else experiencing this issue? Thanks guys, Merc

is it possible to write a VBscript for specific actions in game-ex such as exiting windows? Where is it located in the menu? I have a friend who knows VB script. If this is possible i would like to setup some sort of dialogue warning message with an OK and CANCEL button. thanks everyone for their suggestions! Merc

Hi Everyone, Just wondering if there is a function in game-ex whereby you can add dialogue boxes after a specific action like exiting to windows? How hard would it be to implement? Just a small warning message dialogue box like: "you are about to exit to windows, please be careful and do not modify any of the back-end settings" or something along the lines of this. Hi Guys, as you know in mame when playing cocktail style games like donkey kong and pacman it displays a mame logo/game-ex on the sides. Why does it do this? Why cannot it go into full screen? Also is it possible to modify those logos and perhaps make it just black? Thanks guys in advanced, Merc p.s i am running a 26 inch wide screen monitor. I know it probably wont utilize the entire screen but it also does it on my 15 inch monitor. So i guess size isnt the factor here... Any ideas?

Hi Guys, i like escape - only when quitting games. However is there a disable escape in the main menu of game-ex so it doesn't exit it to windows? IF so how do i go about setting this up in game-ex? Thanks guys in advanced, Merc

Hi Guys, i seem to be having issues settings up the way i want the games list to look in game-ex. a few questions: 1. Do i need different emulators for each rom set? e.g if i want to play snes roms i will need a compatible snes emulator? 2. when doing an update list (a feature in game-ex) does it scan the entire harddrive for games or only the specified roms path you selected in advanced configuration? 3. how do i set it up so in the main menu it will show each emulator set like SNES, MAME, NES etc and when you select them it shows the games with their corresponding sample video on the side. 4. i seem to cant play games in the mame micro that game-ex comes with - is there a known issue? I have put the bios files in the default roms folder and it still doesnt work. Games dont play at all. 5. also the demo and samples that game-ex comes with - the ones with the videos on the side - do they actually play? Or are they just for show? Thanks guy in advanced, Merc.

ah sweet launching explorer.exe actually unhides everything and loads the startbar and windows. So its like booting straight into XP when exiting game-ex! THANK YOU!

I am trying to achieve a clean boot straight into game-ex so i disabled logon and cursor in the InstantSheller settings - so it logs straight into the main account...no option to login to another account... that is one issue i am trying to address when trying to access a "backend" Does anyone have any alternative setups? Perhaps a disable instant sheller upon exit of gameex feature? Thanks guys, Merc

Perhaps i am going about this the wrong way? What are the usual boot setups that is popular now days amongst mame cabinet modders? Is everyone using instant sheller? Or are they doing manual setups? Hi Everyone, I purchased game-ex last year and am very pleased with its capabilities. This year i have started to build a purpose built cocktail cabinet which is finally taking shape. Its really a work of love as there were no expenses spared - from the screen - industrial 26inch LCD monitor used for modern day poker machines, to the genuine (direct from japan) Sanwa controls and the 7 coats of paint that will be used to finish this 1-piece beauty. I can attest to the amount of work that has gone through and can safely say the cabinet is looking as i would like. I have even put extra niggly bits such as front speakers - in-front of the players, a USB slot and a headphone jack that will all be within easy access for the user. My only problem now is SOFTWARE! It appears that InstantSheller does not work properly. These are the problems i am experiencing with InstantSheller: 1. after exiting - it will just display a blank screen - not explorer 2. when i goto safe mode and try to access my "backend" - the mouse is a dot - so i cannot see it - thus i cannot access anything. 3. safe mode does not even display the start bar - so i have to ctrl-alt-del and launch run to access explorer.exe. I would really like to avoid logging in as safe mode just to modify the "backend" I am looking for a program similar to instantsheller but would like it to work as i please and more control. Is modifying the registry my only option? or is there a program similar to the frontend Mala that will modify exactly how i would like to boot into windows. Mala actually has the ability to launch explorer upon exit so you can modify the "backend". THANK YOU EVERYONE! BIG BIG HELP! Merc
