  1. I'm looking to play video_ts folders and MKVs with soft subtitles through gameex. I seem to have video_ts folders working with the dvd mpeg 2 codec set to Microsoft DVT-DVD Video Decoder. using page up/page down keys doesnt seem to affect the subtitles though. Also, MKV files encoded with handbrake - the video plays, but pressing page up/down or CTRL + up/down doesnt bring up the subs (the subs are in vobsub format within the mkv container, i think). they are confirmed to be working ok and switchable in media player classic and VLC. I'm running windows 7 with Shark007s win7 codecs installed - MKV uses Haalis splitter.
  2. ZX Spin 0.7 works perfectly with that command line. at first i got a run time error whenever i quit, but they seem to have stopped. i'm running it as a +2 rather than the default 48K, so maybe the games i have are 128k versions. thanks again for sorting me out.
  3. hey, thanks for the reply. i was using spectaculator when i first posted this thread, but since then i noticed most people use emuzwin with frontends so i switched to that. as to why i used /PAUSE, i had searched for emuzwin on here and was just pasting from an .ini someone else had used, though that post was made in '06 or '07. anyway, i used your command line and at least the correct game loads now. it struggles with fullscreen in windows 7, like it flickers to fullscreen then gives up and reverts to windowed mode. if i then go to view > display mode > full screen, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt, though if it does go full screen it always shows the task bar. also i'd tried zx spin, which seems a lot more stable and has no problem with full screen. but with the command i was using (simply: ZXSpin.exe "[ROMFILE]") it kept saying it couldnt find the rom, even though i made sure of the paths. i've got a feeling maybe i should just pay for spectaculator, because at least that supports win7.
  4. i've tried emuzwin, with the command "C:\GameEx\Emulators\EmuZWin\EmuZwin.exe C:\GameEx\Roms\ZX Spectrum\[ROMFILE] /PAUSE /FULLSCREEN /ESCEXIT" which starts the emulator, but not in full screen mode, and the game is usually the one last played rather than any new game selected. anyone who has ANY spectrum emu working, please help...
  5. I'm trying to set up spectaculator in gameex, but i had a good search and couldn't seem to find a guide. Doubtless its out there and i'm using the wrong terms. Anyway, spectaculator itself is set up, playing games and is good to go. I'm guessing I've now got to set up an .ini file, paste it into C:\GameEx\CONFIG\EMULATORS\IMPORT-EXPORT, then follow tempests "How to setup an emulator in GameEx" thread. But really I've no clue. Any pointers appreciated

i started the game in debug mode, this is the contents of runitgame.bat in C:\GameEx\DATA C: CD "C:\Emulators\WinUAELoader" @echo. @echo @echo. @echo. @echo winuaeloader.exe -mode whdload -rom "SensibleSoccer_v1.1_0384.zip" @echo. @echo @echo. PAUSE winuaeloader.exe -mode whdload -rom "SensibleSoccer_v1.1_0384.zip" I dont know if its something to do with winuaeloader.exe isn't in C:\Emulators\WinUAELoader , it's in C:\Emulators\WinUAELoader\WinUAELoader\ . thats the default location the gameex installation set up.

still no joy tonight, so I thought I'd uninstall everything and begin from scratch and list every step in case you guys can spot some glaring mistake. my OS is windows 7 home premium. quad processor, 4gb ram. 1. downloaded and installed winuae 2.0.1 2. got the correct kickstart roms and renamed them to kick40068.A4000 etc 3. downloaded whdload games 4. downloaded GameEx 10.69 - Windows Install - 25MB and installed. Installation selections: install to C:\GameEx checked 'download default themes' and 'download emulator databases' wizard mode - basic setup emulators? - yes selected winuaeloader whdload, moved to left panel, downloaded downloaded emulator database kept all winuaeloader settings at default, exit setup 5. copied kickstart roms to C:\Emulators\WinUAELoader\WinUAELoader\WHD\Devs\Kickstarts 6. copied '[PC] Commodore Amiga (WHDLoad).mdb' from C:\Emulators\WinUAELoader\WinUAELoader\Data\GameEx\DATA\EMULATORS to C:\GameEx\DATA\EMULATORS 7. copied '[PC] Commodore Amiga (WHDLoad).ini' from C:\Emulators\WinUAELoader\WinUAELoader\Data\GameEx\IMPORT-EXPORT to C:\GameEx\CONFIG\EMULATORS\IMPORT-EXPORT 8. copied games into C:\Roms\Commodore Amiga (WHDLoad) 9. ran winuaeloader.exe from C:\Emulators\WinUAELoader\WinUAELoader 10. in Paths tab set WHDLoad ROM Folder to C:\Roms\Commodore Amiga (WHDLoad) 11. in Settings tab, Screen 640x480, in GameEx Options clicked 'Generate Map Files' 12. in Tools tab, ROM Testing > WHDLoad ROM Type > Run ROM, tested fine 13. ran GameEx, Emulated Games > [PC] Commodore Amiga (WHDLoad) > Sensiblesoccer V1.1 0384 > Play This Game - Screen goes black for 2 seconds, then returns to 'Play This Game' screen. 'Times Played' increases by 1.

    hi, thanks for the reply. i'm not quite sure what you mean, but i went into gameex configuration, and clicked export emulator to get an .ini file. if thats what you meant, the result is this: RequiredFiles= Website=http://www.winuae.net/ Info=For more info visit http://headsoft.com.au/index.php?category=winuaeloader TitleText=Amiga (WHDLoad) StartPageName=[PC] Commodore Amiga (WHDLoad) StartPageLogo=Commodore Amiga Command=WinUAELoader.exe -mode whdload -rom "[ROMFILE]" RomFilter= Database=[PC] Commodore Amiga (WHDLoad) ConfigFile= MapFile=C:\Emulators\WinUAELoader\WinUAELoader\Data\GameEx\MAP FILES\[PC] Commodore Amiga (WHDLoad).map RomsInFolders=False ROMPath=C:\Roms\Commodore Amiga (WHDLoad) SnapPath=C:\Assets\Commodore Amiga\Snaps\WHDLoad TitlePath=C:\Assets\Commodore Amiga\Titles\WHDLoad BoxPath=C:\Assets\Commodore Amiga\Boxes\WHDLoad CartPath=C:\Assets\Commodore Amiga\Carts\WHDLoad WorkingPath=C:\Emulators\WinUAELoader MapKeys=False WaitBeforeKeys= SendKeys= ReplaceDash=True ReplaceUnder=True Capitals=True RemoveBrackets=True ShowDesktop=False Debug=False AlsoLaunch= OLDatZip= LaunchBefore= LaunchAfter= ExcludedFiles= CustomBackground= PlayMusic= PCGame= GamesIn7Zips=False

I'm looking to set up a portable htpc that also emulates the amiga and spectrum. I'm going to use a Revo 3610 as the PC, probably with XBMC for movies/music and GameEx for emulation. Unfortunately I can't seem to get the amiga emulation working so far. I've installed winuae + kickstarts, winuae loader and gameex, downloaded the whdload games, put them in the C:\Roms\Commodore Amiga (WHDLoad) folder. I also verified them by testing them in winuae loader itself and they work fine. But when I try to play the game through GameEx, it just goes to a black screen for a couple of seconds then returns to the games list. Is it something to do with my GameEx being unregistered and WHDLoad games being zip files? I will register, I'd just like to get everything set up first.
