ok, i just gave it a try,, and it just came up blank on the sides... i did notice tho that its not working thru mame either, so it looks like i'll have to get it working there first..... do think they should all be unzipped? i thought i read to keep them zipped but im gonna try it. -add-- unzippping them didnt change nothin..
-
i have a registered version and i have several zipped bezel files in the artwork folder of mame32. i been reading on this and this is where its suggested the files go.. in gameex i have selected use bezels in basic setup, but all i see is the gameex bezel..how do i get the bezel artwork to work or show up??
-
ok, now that ive got all my mng files created, its not playing them in gamex.... i have selected use image/item in background in gameex, and have them located in their own folder ...one thing i did notice is that all the mng files were put in their own folder too,(example, C:/mame32/snap,<--this is where there going, and instead of just seeing the mng files listed in that folder, each game is in its own folder with the mng file in that. but even if i take them out it still doesnt do any different.. anybody have any suggestions???

ok, i FINALLY figured out my sound problem,,, if any body else is haveing desynced or scratchy echoing sound..try this.. anyways after looking into to the problem way too deep, in the end i had the "triple buffering" option selected in the mame32 default game options (sheesh!, so simple...) after i deselected that it didnt matter what i changed to anything the sound stayed flawless!!! also i found this troubleshooting sound thread that helped me figure it out and could help other sound issues ...hope this helps anyone.. and im stoked i have a perfect running machine again!!!
-
hey thanks, its working perfectly now,,,,it only worked when i used the browse button tho..when i typed it in manualy it was no dice..but thanks for the help
-
i read the docs, and did a quick search and couldnt find an answer,,... but when i hit the create mame videos button it errors saying "Unable to createVideos, check MAME paths, and AVI snap paths" ... where do i do that? or how do i fix this.. -my mame is all on the c: drive and all settings correlate with that.. is there somewhere else it is trying to find it from.. thanks
-
i think i figured out why the sound is lagging and skipping,, my cpu is running at 100% when gameex is in use.............i cant seem to find the thread that explains how to eliminate this...i remember reading about it somewhere, can someone point me in the right place.. thanks
-
of course!, it all makes a lot of sense now, i use the frontend for the most basic of functions..sheesh, i need to finish up some of my other projects and really dig in/learn and take advantage of all the features this frontend offers. -thanks for the help
-
thanks for clearing that up. that is how i have it now.. i guess i misunderstood it and the difference between run on launch and launch on startup. what are some examples of utilities one would run in the background, i cant think of any??? i wonder if running a specific game on startup would be a feature request worth requesting or if im the only one who would want such a thing......
-
i having a bit of trouble understanding the run on launch. if im reading it right i should be able to have gameex start right in a specific game of my coice right? specifically golden tee 2k is the rom im trying to have start but how do i go about that...when i choose browse i find my list of roms but their all zipped of course and by putting it in the selection bar gameex wont launch......im sure its easy but im lost..hopefully someone can walk me thru this process?
-
ok, thanks....unfortunatly i looked and it is already set to full....and i have 1gig of ram so i dont think that is an issue either....can customizing the skins slow it down maybe? thats the only thing ive done different, but im not sure when it started doing this, ive reverted back to the default skin but its still struggling on sound.. im using the onboard sound and the MOBO is only a few months old, my other mame is onboard sound too with no problems and its MOBO is almost 2 years old so im thinking theres a setting or software conflict somewheres. -any suggestions..
-
does any one know or had this problem before. the sound in ANY game thru gameex gets scratchy and skippy i guess is the only way to describe it. but when i try the same games thru the mame program everything is flawless!.. any ideas..anyone? thanks
-
ok, so im finally able to create videos but any rom newer than 1985 seems to not play smoothly as soon as it says record(extremely choppy)... is there a setting i can change temporarly to have them record normally? im using the most recent gameex version but have reverted back to mame106 because the newest versions wont play any of my vector games and seems to drop or lose a lot of my favorite games. is the mame version too old for create videos or is that even an issue maybe? any suggestion??
-
Is this something that will be a possible fix in an update or should i just go back to an older version of mame....why would the mame version make any difference? just curious -hey jthompson, you mentioned your making the videos in your pc, but is your cab using the newest version mame or old version, i tried working mng's from another cpu and still doesnt work for me.. how did that go for you?
-
!! I too have been having this issue, and waiting patiently for a possible answer. i have made two posts in the past about this, one went hot and my log is in that thread, but i will be glad to post my continued errors on this if needed!! i really want my video previews back.
-
well......, im gonna have to play with this one for awhile, its like a 3 step process and a bit more complicated than needs be i think,....whatever happened to just simply clicking the start menu link, come back in two days and voila all your videos....thanks for helping thus far, hopefully i'll figure this converter program out....i wish my old HD(Seagate ) wouldnt have melted, i wouldnt be having these troubles!! i had the older versions of everything, i had them working flawless.......think i should i go back 3 steps??
-
ok. i downloaded your file and it works flawlessly with sound....i noticed it was .avi, it is creating my files as mng, am i spose to be converting them? -after i downloded the xvid i ran the create video process for a few titles and still no result........ when im downloading ffdshow and xvid n such, im just hitting install and leaving them default, should i be putting any files elsewhere other then where they go automatically, i rebooted and nothing seemed to change. -they dont play in the MNGer player either if that means anything.....
-
im using the version directly linked thru the setup wizard of gameex which looks like a match to your link,, - audio.- other then when its being created, i cant think of ever being able to hear it thru gameex, -and no luck thru WMP, says it doesnt support the file and closes. i have nothing else installed other than these for playbacks....im appreciating the help!
-
ok, you are correct, i can watch it create mng files and its putting them in the snap folder.. i had no divx or other codecs installed prior and now have ffdshow installed. i used the installer and left everything default, is their something else i should have done or added??--stilll black screens
-
i have nothing but roms in mame(no cabs, panels, etc.) cept for the mng files created by gameex of course.... as i didnt want to continue setting up until i get past this one. thanks. 21:09:42.2 10/9/2006: GameEx: Version 6.95: Starting Log 21:09:42.2 10/9/2006: Operating System Platform: Win32NT 21:09:42.2 10/9/2006: Operating System Name: Windows XP 21:09:42.2 10/9/2006: Operating System Version: 5.1.2600 21:09:42.2 10/9/2006: Checking for versions of .net Framework installed 21:09:42.2 10/9/2006: .net Framework 2.0 Installed 21:09:42.2 10/9/2006: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ 21:09:42.2 10/9/2006: 2.01Ghz - 2 Cores or CPU's 21:09:42.2 10/9/2006: Running Randomize() 21:09:42.2 10/9/2006: Checking for applications to Launch On Startup 21:09:42.2 10/9/2006: Initialising Video/MNG DLL's 21:09:42.2 10/9/2006: Running Misc startup tasks 21:09:42.2 10/9/2006: Setting Menu types 21:09:42.2 10/9/2006: Opening Configuration File 21:09:42.2 10/9/2006: Getting Configuration Values 21:09:42.3 10/9/2006: Using Theme: Default - Default 21:09:42.3 10/9/2006: Checking for alternate Image Directory for Theme: Default - Default 21:09:42.3 10/9/2006: Launching HideOS.exe 21:09:42.3 10/9/2006: Hiding Taskbar 21:09:42.3 10/9/2006: Is Media Center running? ok ive been stuck on this for a long time now and i tried an earlier suggestion using the MNGer program but all i can ever get in result is a black screen! i finally reformatted my entire drive and put fresh OS and all drivers etc, and only mame and gameex (and roms of course) and i still only get black screens! what am i missing, ive had them before simply using the link in the start menu and now it will go thru the motions but only result in black. looking for any suggestions at this point!!!!!
-
hey i didnt even think to look outside the gameex forum ,...so a good direction,, .. ok so now this program recognizes the file and the play bar plays, but im still only getting black screens... any ideas?? it would be helpful because im stumped....., and i guess i'll start directing my questions over in the MNGer forum. (hopefully it applies)

ive read now the faq, docs, and about 10 pages back of the forum and cant seem to find anything about not being able to produce snap videos for just mame. my problem is everytime i try to create videos it goes thru them like its creating them but only leave a black mng file for all roms. ive tried divx, then saw the one thread on ffdshow which is currently installed, and it was trying to use a nero 7 file to read the mng. ive deleted nero and all associated files but it is still trying to save them as a nero imagesnap file..... if i try to open the saved mng file it asks me to choose a program to open it with and none of them will do it......how do i get create videos corrected?? thanks.

ok, oddly enough it mustve been .net 1.1 -i simply uninstalled 1.1 again and 2.0, searched out all related files and deleted them, re-installed 2.0 and it works great now. wierd it didnt workd the first time i did that. im thinking my first downlaod of 2.0 mustve got interupted or something. -anyways, back to some hardcore game play!! thanks for the advice.
