  1. I would really like a way to remap the joypad keys that game ex uses to terminate mame. GameEx, currently, will terminate mame if up + left + 4 + 5 + 6 is pressed on a joypad. This could be bad for certain games, like the 6 button fighting kind. I would like to see either a way to remap this like the other emulators, or a way to disable the feature (for mame only). Thanks for all the hard work!
  2. Yup, I was posting in the yahoo groups back during version 2ish, I believe I was one of the first people who requested support for mame32plus (which I might add still works beautifully to this day.) Im still running that build on one of my earlier arcade machines Thanks for the quick reply to my question. I guess for now there is nothing that can be done. But perhaps in the future you could include an advanced configfile for mame, allowing the same functionality as the other emulator setups? If not that, then some way to disable the default exit command (mame only) because you can easily remap the exit within mame to specific buttons. Anyway, just a request, and no rush. GameEx has come a long way, and im looking forward to future builds; TV tuner functionality will be incredible! Keep up the good work, and thanks again! Cuba
  3. Hope this is a question with a simple answer.... I cant figure out how to reassign the exit combination keys that make gameex terminate mame. Ive figured out how to reassign the exit keys for emulators other than mame. For example, I have zsnes exit by using joypad keys 1+2+7+8, and it works just fine. The configfile took a little work but isnt too difficult. But I couldnt find any files that would allow me to change the mame exit keys. Up+left+4+5+6 is easy to mash on a joypad if someone is playing Marvel vs Capcom (or any other frantic fighter). I could assign the exit combination within mames control file, but that wont change gameex's terminating key sequence. Am I missing something?
  4. ANOTHER UPDATE: I left my mame folder on C drive and changed the rom dir back to "E:\mame roms\roms", exiting is broken again..........
  5. UPDATE: I moved the mame32plus folder to C drive and shortened the folder name, and used the included rom folder as the rom path, so C:\mame32plus\mamep.exe for the executable and C:\mame32plus\roms as the games dir. Now the exiting works! I still would like to know how to change the button combo so I can exit with different buttons........
  6. The software was mame32plus 104u3, just the regular version. I had it installed to "E:\mame roms\versions\mameplus_bin_gcc-0.104u3a-20060228" with the roms located in "E:\mame roms\roms". However I just downloaded regular mame32 and unzipped it C: and installed one game (puckman) into its rom dir. I reset GameEx to use this mame, and now the exit with game controller works just fine. WTF. Ill do some more testing and see if I if it was the location that made it malfunction, or if it was my particular mame version....... Another question though, supposed I was mame to exit with a different button combo, whats the proper way to set that up?
  7. Ive been a big fan of gameex from the beginning, I used version 2 on a previous arcade machine. Im thrilled to see it come as far as it has, but now im trying understand some of the current options. Im planning to use gameex in my arcade cabinet. The controls will be interfaced to a gp-wiz32, which is essentially a gamepad. (Ive got a cheapo gamepad hooked to my computer for testing purposes.) Anyway, I read that gameex supports exiting from emulators using a gamepad alone, but I cant figure out how. It says button 4,5,6 +left+up, but in game that doesnt do anything. Is there an option im missing? Thanks alot for the help.
