  1. thanks! i will try both of those suggestions. i'm at work now but as soon as i get home...
  2. so, i've finally figured out how to get all my games to list, but now i'm having a problem playing them. MAME games work fine, but NES, SNES, and N64 won't display. they'll launch and i can hear the sounds, but i can't see anything. i've messed with the display settings as much as i can think to. i've set it at 800 X 600, 640 X 480, and also set GameEx to not change the resolution but nothing has worked. i'm running on a media center p.c. with just my t.v. as a monitor. any ideas?
  3. that didn't do it. but i finally got it. when i left the games zipped and set the filter for *.zip, everything worked fine. i know that it was set up correctly before, but, whatever. as long as it works.
  4. well, i figured it out. it doesn't make sense to me, but i zipped all the games (individually, not all together) and set the filter for *.zip and it worked fine. it wouldn't work when they were in their individual folders and the filters set accordingly. does that seem weird?
  5. unfortunately, that didn't do it. my working path is correct, my path to my roms are correct (once or twice it was incorrect and GameEx wouldn't start) folder settings are correct... everything is right. i've got a lot of roms in the appropriate directories. this is really stumping me. is there anyone out there that had a similar problem that you had to use some different means to fix it? the standard solutions just aren't making it happen. thanks for all of your help! p.s. - is it possible that i'm using the wrong emulators? could this keep my games from showing up? and what emulators do you guys use for NES and SNES? links?
  6. this is an update to my last post. once again, my MAME games are fine, but i can't get NES or SNES games to list out. the paths are correct and i'm running v. 5.71 (downloaded this morning). what else could it be that i'm missing? also, do most of you keep your games zipped or do you extract into their individual folders?
  7. okay, i got v. 5.71 and am still having the eaxct same problem. is this happening with anyone else. i double checked everything and can't find anything wrong with my paths or filters. this is frustrating.
  8. oh, then maybe i don't. sorry!
  9. i have v. 5.71. i just downloaded it 2 days ago.
  10. my MAME games load fine. i went into the MAME section and updated the game list and everything works fine. but my nes games won't list out at all. the filter says *.nes and everything else looks fine. the paths are 100% correct. but there's no "update list" for nes games, is there? what in the world can i be doing wrong?
