No I haven't tried shark007 codec pack. I don't have internet access on the gameex machine where I want this karaoke to work so when I try installing Shark007 codec pack the install doesn't succeed. Point me in the direction of a good set of codec's that's not loaded with malware and i'll give it a try.

I have Windows XP and Direct X 9.0c installed. Lastest version of GameEx installed. Video previews and music play in GameEx when selected on song, but when launched screen goes blank and then can hear the mp3 playing No Video showing lyrics. If I double click a .cdg file in my Karaoke folder Media Player launches and it looks fine. I have tried WmpFull also to eliminate an issue with Windows media player and same issue. I am not sure what else to try. Have installed LavFilters also and no changes. Looking for suggestions on what to check next. Thanks.

Now I am setting this up on my arcadepc, its a 2.93ghz pc with soundblaster Live card. What is the preferred input to use for the microphone? LineIn or MicIn? Will one sound better than the other? Has anybody got any suggestions to get this setup, is it best to use LineIn and have a mic preamp or is that not needed? Thanks for anybodys experiences in this matter.

I can record my voice just fine in sound recorder. it plays back my voice just fine. But it does not come through the speakers unless i play back. It doesnt go through the speakers as I record, only as i playback.

Just got done using dxdiag, found out my sound card does not support hardware buffering. Is that the cause of the problem?
-
I checked there and the linein and microphone both were selected and the volume was maxed out. Is there any requirements for the sound card that is to be used with karaoke directx? I am testing this out on my dell laptop and its only an inspiron b120 with the sigmatel audio (not the greatest..) This really is confusing because when i go to the control panel > sounds and audio devices > Voice > Test Hardware then the microphone works fine I can hear my voice just fine, it works awesome. its like in gameex its not switching it on or something.

**BUMP** Anybody have karaoke working that can give me some pointers? I have tried another microphone and still no voice in karaoke songs.
-
I have tried pluggin into line in and microphone port and i do not get any voice coming through to karaoke in gameex. I would really like this to work, I have a registered version. Whatever I try i get no voice coming through. I tested the hardware in teh control panel and i do get it to work there, just nothing at all in gameex karaoke. Any suggestions?? Thanks!

Here is a wierd one!! All of my mame avi previews are upside down and mirrored. Never seen this one before what would cause this? I am using gameex 5.87 and winxp.

Thats about exactly my config file on the PC i am having issues with, and on the PC that is working great. One is XP and the one having issues is win98 se. I will keep on searching for a solution. Rocknesx is working, it goes full screen but i just need to setup autohotkey so i can get the emulator to exit. if i hit esc. it unloads the rom but leaves the emualtor open. Jnes is still launching full screen for a second then it goes windowed mode. I know i will find a solution sooner or later with either using rocknes or jnes. thanks for all the helpl guys!
-
Would the same -m work to disable the jnes or rocknes gui also? i am having success launching snes and nes emulators now, but exiting is something i am working on now. with rocknes when i hit exit it closes the rom but leaves the emualtor gui up and i have to hit file and exit. Jnes launches but goes full screen and then flashes back to windowed mode, i have showdesktop = false, mapkeys = yes,and in jnes selected "open full screen when rom is loaded". Jnes also seems to run very smooth, rocknes launches better ( no windowed) but it seems to stutter on some roms. anybody have suggestions. Thanks All it has been a pleasure posting here. Oh and also again i must say Gameex rocks!!
-
Thanks the Start /wait is working i can now launch the nes and snes emulators from gameex. next thing i gotta work on is getting rocknes to exit. if i hit escape it closes the current rom loaded but leaves open the emulator so i have to click file and exit with the mouse and then it returns to gameex.

Thanks for your quick response this will help immensely. this at least tells me im not doing something wrong on my end i will need to add that start/wait tonght and see how it goes. This is a relief! Thanks a bunch!

The only difference i see besides path names (obviously) is the -m command line parameter What does that accomplish?

I am using gameex 5.87 win98se and mame games are working great. but i am struggling at setting up nes & snes. I am using Jnes and zsnes and they work fine by themselves but when i launch them using gameex the screen goes black and i can hear the game running in the background and the title screen flashes up for a split second then it exits right back to gameex. if i alt-tab i can see emulator running. Any ideas or suggestions. I have had mamewah setup with this same pc and same emulators and it launched fine, but gameex is so much a better frontend for what i need so i really want to get it working correctly. Awesome Frontend and well worth the registration fee!! thanks everyone.

Thanks I will check that out tonight. Probably dont have that set to Yes i suppose.

I am using ver 0.6 Jnes and gameex 5.78. I can use escape key on keyboard to exit out of all emulators (mame, snes, daphne, etc) except for Jnes (nes emulator). Anybody have any ideas? Only thing i can do is ctrl-alt-del. and end task on jnes to get back to gameex. have been searching forums and not found a similar issue. thanks for your help. Awesome frontend!! Keep up the good work Tom!

Been searching and could not find answer to this. I know its possible to only show one version of emulated games. How do i do it? Nintendo games are showing like 3 or 4 or more versions, and with all the same name i cannot tell what version is being launched. is this what map file is used for? Thanks awesome program!!
