  1. I quite like the name GameEx Revolution !
  2. @stigzler I did have it on the ssd (the os drive) but for reason of space and simplicity I moved it. I know I can manage where it saves things like snaps and artwork but prefer not to worry about that for now. When evolution is released I am hoping it will simply use the same folders and media I have collected for gameex.
  3. The boot drive is a ssd which explains why it was short on space.. Also the PC has 4gb of memory and the secondary drive where gameEx is going has 698gb of space. I think the bigger drive is a western digital black so should be pretty nippy. Anyway today I will relocate gameEx to the bigger drive. I haven't much really delved into the configuration side of gameEx all the time I have used it. I only had it set up with a single emu and watched movies from it before. Thanks for your feedback.
  4. Hi, I am in the process of reinstalling gameEx to another PC. I installed it to drive c and there is around 20gb left on the drive and I figured I could change the drive locations for things such as roms. However I have also signed up for emumovies so can I change the location it downloads it's media to ? I did look in the configuration but wasn't able to find it.. Or am I better off installing on another drive. Also when installing I used my old gameEx key ( I have purchased it again in preparation of Evolution ) how can I remove the old key ?
  5. Wow , thats a really neat solution ! I've seen a 'typing with gamepad' solution on the xpadder forums so i guess its not impossible. Hopefully the games i want won't need the whole keyboard anyway. Many Thanks !
  6. Hi, Is it possible to have control settings per-game say for example with the c64 emulator Vice ? Some games for that system require extra keys like the space bar and even the whole alphabet if the game needed a name typing. I have looked at using xpadder but really i'm unsure if emulating the whole keyboard (on a gamepad or arcade cab) is the way to go with this. Is there a better way to handle this kinda thing ? sp
  7. Hi, I have the arcade ambience mp3 set to play when gameEx starts up. If i then go into the jukebox the ambience mp3 stops, which is fine cos i dont need that playing if i have some music playing. But if i come out of the jukebox i dont have the ambience playing again. Is there a setting somewhere to restart the ambience ?
  8. Well i think they are car speakers in the cab, connected to a sub and then to the onboard sound of an asus mobo. I dunno, they just sound mediocre to me. I do actually have a set of logitech 5.1's for my main pc, so i might see what sort of sound i get with that before spending out for something that wont make much difference ! ps sorry for being off topic with that .. lol
  9. Hi , slightly off topic I guess, I'd like to start using the jukebox in gameex but the 2.1 speakers i have in my cab just dont sound decent with music blasting out. They were fine for arcade games and emulation etc So i think i need something meatier ! Any recommendations .. looks are unimportant as it will all be in the cab.
  10. Well after changing all kinds of settings i think i may have sorted it. I turned the attract mode timer off and it has'nt locked up like it it was doing so before. I have'nt delved into how to go about setting up attract mode yet so maybe it needs videos or something to play. Anyway now working here !
  11. Just to add that i have custom keyboard controls off (never had them on anyway) I also tried it with windows screensaver enabled and disabled. and also with all power saving settings disabled. Same thing happens Not sure what else to try except reinstall and hope for the best !
  12. I have similar problems with GameEx becoming unresponsive. http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?showtopic=7216 Similarly, GameEx was just waiting for input. I was browsing the built in radio stations and left one playing. I would guess it became unresponsive after about 15 minutes. I'm not sure if i have the windows screensaver turned off or on (Laptop is not with me at the moment to check).. is there a screensaver built in to GameEx and are they tripping over each other or something ?
  13. I have already tried the 'directinput keyboard' setting set to no. I had only just set it to yes so i know its not that. Not sure about any custom keyboard controls .. i will try that when i get chance over the weekend.
  14. ok this is the logfile from a couple of days ago. Not sure theres any kind of emulator conflict, as I only have one setup so far. 12:20:49.5 01/04/2009: GameEx: Version 9.94: Starting Log 12:20:49.5 01/04/2009: Operating System Platform: Win32NT 12:20:49.5 01/04/2009: Operating System Name: Windows Vista 12:20:49.5 01/04/2009: Operating System Version: 6.0.6001 12:20:49.5 01/04/2009: Vista Aero running 12:20:49.5 01/04/2009: Initializing Vista volume control 12:20:49.5 01/04/2009: Checking for versions of .net Framework installed 12:20:49.5 01/04/2009: .net Framework 2.0 Installed 12:20:49.5 01/04/2009: Intel® Core2 Duo CPU P8400 @ 2.26GHz, 3068MB 12:20:49.5 01/04/2009: 2.26Ghz - 2 Cores or CPU's 12:20:49.5 01/04/2009: Running Randomize() 12:20:49.5 01/04/2009: Loading PlugIns 12:20:49.5 01/04/2009: Checking for applications to Launch On Startup 12:20:49.5 01/04/2009: Running Misc startup tasks 12:20:49.5 01/04/2009: Setting Menu types 12:20:49.5 01/04/2009: Opening Configuration File 12:20:49.5 01/04/2009: Getting Configuration Values 12:20:49.6 01/04/2009: Using Theme: Default - MCE Glossy V3 12:20:49.6 01/04/2009: Checking for alternate Image Directory for Theme: Default - MCE Glossy V3 12:20:49.6 01/04/2009: Using Images from theme: Default - MCE Glossy\MEDIA\ 12:20:49.6 01/04/2009: Initialising Video/MNG DLL's 12:20:49.6 01/04/2009: GameEx will check for media insertion (may affect performance) 12:20:49.6 01/04/2009: Is Media Center running? 12:20:49.6 01/04/2009: Checking/Creating LCD Registry values 12:20:49.6 01/04/2009: Check Media Center Exit/Start Mode 12:20:49.6 01/04/2009: Media Center Mode 2 12:20:49.6 01/04/2009: Video previews on. 15. hi, i'm at work so don't have the laptop to hand, but i will post a log file shortly. Not sure why GameEx would forget what the arrow keys do .. I don't have much in the way of emulators installed on there so i may just do a fresh install and see if the problem occurs with default settings.
