  1. I was hoping maybe there was a windows call that only changed local desktop color that could be used instead of the global one, and he could only set the font for that screen instead of system wide. I like having one shared account.
  2. Don't know if there is anything you can do about this, but I added my cabinet to my domain the other day, and noticed that when gameex changes the background to black, hides the desktop icons, and changes the font, these get pushed to every other machine I'm logged into. I set them back a few minutes later they get pushed right back. I went into policy manager and tried to turn off roaming profiles everywhere I could find them, but for the life of me I can't get the profiles from getting pushed out.
  3. Ahh, I have only run the setup wizard once, no wonder I didn't find it. ;-)
  4. When I was having this problem before, someone suggested I run a gameex config check tool, but I never found the tool.
  5. I would think the mame directory would work, but I usually set mine to blank. I had the pcb one cause mine to not show games when it was set to a path that didn't exist.
  6. When this happens to me, it's always been on of the secondary paths that wasn't right, something like the link to pcb files pointing to a directory that doesn't exist.
  7. Seems to me the plywood/mdf is one of the cheaper things in the project. Good plywood is $50 a sheet, and you can spend hundreds quickly on keyboard controllers, buttons, monitors all of which will need upgrading down the line, but hopefully your cabinet won't. I'd rather stick a used xbox one with a hacked gamepad and a 19" tv from a garage sale rather than skimping on the wood. You can easily swap the guts out for better guts later a piece at a time, you build a bad foundation, you are stuck with a bad foundation.
  8. I got one of the go2live things at target for $5 after xmas, I hooked it up and played a few of their games online. It kept shutting off during play, wasn't accurate, and only seemed to work while in a web browser. Maybe there is a mouse driver for it I missed.
  9. I load the bluetooth drivers, load that BlueSoleil crap, load glovepie, load script, click run, blue screen of death. Wish like hell I could get it to work right.
  10. I didn't know if Tom realized that some paths give you good messages like c:\mame\roms not found, while others display a much less meaning full error message that can leave you scratching your head. I didn't realize there was a tool to validate paths. ;-)
  11. Birch plywood is a million times better than mdf. I would figure you would need to use a 32" or larger monitor moved back some for 4 player driving games to be much fun.
  12. I was having the same kind of problem, turned out to be some of the mame paths that didn't exist. The config utility defaults some directories to something like emulators\mame32\pcb. All seems to go fine the first time you run gameex, but the next time you run it, no mame roms show up, and you see the error message mame roms not found.
  13. Is it possible to add your own custom buttons? I would like a more touch screen theme if possible. like putting up a mini keyboard on the bottom, I can't seem to get it to let me add custom objects/buttons.
  14. I have a 2 player setup with 6 buttons per player, plus a 4 way with 2 buttons, plus a spinner with 2 buttons. Is there a cheaper way to have all these buttons light up in the correct color for each game than 2 $45 LED-WIZs? I think it would be really cool, but the wife isn't going to like be spending another $200 on the control panel.
  15. I have almost every thing on a gig-e nas mapped to G: and some reason, gamex keeps dropping the connection and not finding the drive. Anyone have what could be causing this, if i uninstall gameex and reinstall it, it comes back, otherwise I can't see mame games. It will work for a day or 2, then it starts this crap again. G:\mame>net use New connections will be remembered.
