Updated to Gameex 64Bit and used the latest Instant Sheller 0.9 on Windows 10 Pro. Instant Sheller crashed when doing it's thing with an Unhandled Exception, I rebooted and everything is as you'd expect. The PC now boots directly into Gameex. If I exit Gamex, and get back to Task Manager I can open the file explorer but when I try and undo Instant Sheller it simply crashes with an Unhandled Exception - index was outside the bounds of the array. I can do most of what I need from Task manager but some Windows 10 settings still need the desktop shell, how can I re-access this please? Running explorer.exe like back in the XP days obviously just loads file explorer in Windows 10. Thanks

As per the screenshots, the "Y" key is not visible in the displayed text. The text has been set using custom menu, and is correct there. As far as i can tell it is just the "y" key that is affected. I'd appreciate any help / suggestions as to what is causing this?

Thanks for the responses. I hadn't seen the external app for close / restart, i'll check it out as it sounds perfect. I'd looked at running gameex from a self re-loading bat but that would always reload gameex which ultimately may not be what I want. Once again, great support!

If I have the cab loaded and running gameex... Then I scroll down the game lists and realise that a video snapshot is missing or a box cover is missing, I can rename the missing / incorrect files or add them in real time over the LAN. Gameex doesn't recognise the change until it has been restarted. For me to restart my arcade cabinet, I have to exit gameex, plug in a mouse, reload gamex and remove the mouse. It would just be handy to have the option to relaunch gamex from the exit menu. This is also true when making changes to gameex themes. The update list option as far as i can see only appears for MAME and not for snes, nes, amiga, spectrum etc.... and doesn't make gameex find new artwork, videos etc... unless i'm wrong?

The reason is when updating or changing video snaps or game roms. I'm on a real cabinet without mouse and keyboard, It would just be handy to have the option to reload itself to apply the changes.

Hi, Is there an option to have gamex reload / relaunch itself from one of the menus or custom menus? ie. close itself and just reload. Thanks

After 6 or 7 years of use I have finally found had the urge to create / edit my own theme. Initially I am basing my edit on nexgen. I was wondering if somebody could answer the following please? 1) Is it possible / how do you edit the font size for individual theme objects such as Date, Time & Menu? 2) What does the object "Description" show / do? It doesn't appear to do or show anything anything. I was assuming it would provide mame game info etc but that information is contained under the object "list" 3) Is it possible to add an image / duplicate an object on a specific template, such as favorites? Lets say i'd like to duplicate the object "image" on the favorites page and display the same image / video twice on the same page. Thanks

Managed to get this figured out if anyone is interested. Created a windows bat file that runs every 10 minutes as a scheduled task under XP. The following software needs to be installed: 1) auto_screen_shot 1.0.5.3 - takes an actual screenshot of gamex / screensaver / actual game (Runs on windows start, doesn't interfere with gameex and compresses image to under 60kb) 2) NcFTP 3.2.5 - uploads the screenshot to website by FTP All programs run standalone and are accessible by command line for use in bat file. *.bat file content: cd c:\arcade\ftp (Dir where batfile, programs and images are stored) del c:\arcade\ftp\arcadelive.jpg (Deletes old screenshot if it exists) ren *.jpg arcadelive.jpg (Renames your newest screenshot, this will overwrite the current image on your FTP) ncftpput -u yourftpusername -p yourftppass yourwebsite.com path/on/website local/pathto/image (FTP's the image) # eg. ncftpput -u jimmy -p jimmypass gameexisgreat.co.uk httpdocs/arcadepics c:\arcade\ftp\arcadelive.jpg (Example) exit Add the bat file to system scheduler and every 10 minutes your website/blog can be showing an actual screenshot of your arcade machine.

Hi, moved over from the general forum. Would it be possible to configure gameextender to actually select what images can be displayed remotely? Also, an option to allow remote control of the actual cabinet to be turned on / off. I use the link to ip:port to display a gameex image online but would like to able to choose just a snapshot with no stats, marquees etc and no cabinet interactive control. Thanks

Hi, I don't use a second monitor, I'm wanting to display images from the cabinet to a website. Specifically, just a snapshot of the actual game being played rather than the stats, control panel etc that gameextender displays. Thanks

I have set Marquee Magician up, but how do MM's generated images to be viewed from online? With game extender enabled I still just see standard gameex images. With it disabled i see nothing as there are no options to set an Ip or port address anywhere in MM? Am I doing something wrong or missing something? Thanks

I have enabled the gameextender with the hope of simply showing a screenshot of the current state of my actual cabinet as a picture on a website. 1) If i connect to the actual ip & port via lan or web, i initially get a picture that if I click on it allows me to control my cabinet remotely. Although a great feature, can i limit this to prevent a random user also visiting this IP address and doing the same? (ie. if they right click my website image they can copy the url and then just connect to IP:PORT and Bingo!) 1.1) When the cabinet goes into attract / screensaver the online controls stop reacting, can an ESC key be added or amended to gain access to the cabinet again? 2) The actual reason for the topic! Can I just have gamex show the actual cabinet screen / game screenshot rather than the cabinet, control panel and statistsic images? Every time i refresh i get one of those four images. (By linking the website to this image, I remove the option of being able to click and control gameex) For the actual website image, I specifically link to this static page / url - http://mydomain:PORT/builtin/getimage-gxre640x480endre.png (I figured out by changing the 640x480 you can manipulate the image to be any size you want it to be) Every time I load this page / refresh I get the updated image from the cabinet but would like this to be purely a specific cabinet screenshot or in game screenshot. ( No panels, cabs or stats images) Thanks in advance!
