I contacted both Arzoo and Pixelcade and they weren’t sure why this is happening. I ended up using your suggestion of places nonmame games in the mame image folder. It’s an easy workaround that hopefully will only have to do once

That may be an easy workaround if it’s just the titles in the favorites list. Since it is looking for images in the mame folder, I can copy the two dozen or so images into the mame image folder. Not ideal, but could “work” and wouldn’t be too time consuming.

Hi all. I’m having an issue where GameEx is not displaying the image for Pixelcade when using the Favorites menu in GameEx. This only occurs with games excluding Mame. When using the emulator menu it works perfectly. I took a look at the pixelcade log. When accessing the favorites menu, it identifies some console emulator files as Mame therefore can’t find the image (attached is a screenshot of the pixelcade log). At times it won’t send the prompt to search for the image until after I load and exit an emulator. I updated to the latest version of GameEx and the problem still persists. Support at Pixelcade is saying that it is an issue within GameEx. Does anybody have an ideas? TIA

Hey everyone. I just programed GameEx to use D-Fend Reloaded/DosBox. Everything starts correctly (in fullscreen mode), but after about ten seconds GameEx comes to the foreground again. The game I was playing is now windowed behind GameEx (I access it through Alt+Tab). I have tried switching ShowDesktop and had no success. Everything works as it should when running games directly through D-Fend Reloaded. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers. GameEx.ini log.txt

To be honest, I never tried as I was accustomed to page scrolling by holding the control key + up/down. Everything seems to be working now. I appreciate everything. Cheers.

That didn’t do it. However, I found that left and right will scroll by a page at a time. I had always needed to hold ctrl and hit up or down to page. Whatever it is, I’ll take it. Hopefully this isn’t something that had been implemented recently and I just wasn’t up to date. If so, my apologies and I appreciate the time/effort.

I have a handful of devices connected. mouse, Game controllers, lightguns, and standard keyboard, and iPac controller. The iPac is connected w a ps2 connection and standard keyboard is usb. The left control key sends GameEx home on both.

I tried that and still no luck. If I scroll, hold the ctrl key, and continue scrolling it will jump pages. However, once I let go of a button it will go back to the home screen. GameEx.ini log.txt

Does anybody have any ideas? Is there a file that I can easily access and remap the controls? Thanks.

I recently just upgraded to 16.28. When navigating menus the ctrl key now takes me back to the home screen instead of letting me scroll by a page at a time with the up or down arrow key. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks.

Thank you for getting back to me. I've put the roms into the do not filter list, updated, and they still do not work. I also updated to 16.28. I appreciate the support. Stay healthy.

Hi everyone. I have noticed that all of the Jak_ roms are not showing up in my Mame game list in GameEx. I have updated to 16.27, updated game list, put file names in the do not filter setting, changed filter settings, and the issue still persists. Could the file that is contained inside the .zip be the issue (they all only have one .bin within the zip)? If so, is there anything else that is being omitted that I have yet to notice. Did you ever fix/find a solution to the issue? I am having a similar issue with the following roms: jak_disf;jak_dpr;jak_dprs;jak_disn. I am able to play the games using Mame64, but I cant get them to show in GameEx. Looking at your question, I went to look for Mazinger as well. In Mame, I have Mazinger Z but not in GameEx. I was probably the one asking the question before. I'm using an AVGA with an aracde monitor. I just havent been able to get it to work up to this point. After playing with a few settings, I turned off the AVGA mode in GameEx and the games now display. I have found though that horizontal games run much slower and are choppy.

I am using GameEx with Mame32. When I play vertical games using Mame32 (without GameEx), all the games play flawlessly. When I attempt to play vertical games through GameEx, the games are scrambled and unplayable. Has anyone experienced a similar problem or know of a fix? Thanks. -Berg

I have a similar issue. When I choose a favorite from an emulator (nonmame) it chooses a totally different game. All I need to do is go back (from the game menu) to the favorites menu and try again. Then it chooses the proper game.

I'm having difficulty displaying vertical games in GameEx. I am using version 6.10, Mame32, and an Arcade Monitor with an AVGA. When using Mame32, the games display fine. I had to change the resolution settings in Mame32 under the advanced tab to 800x600. Are there any optimal settings to display the games while using GameEx? Thanks. -Berg

How about a subcategory for Lightgun games under the main Mame menu? I assume this would be done similar to the vector, horizontal, vertical, etc...

I've just installed everything into my cabinet and for the most part GameEx and the system works great. The Mame Multiplayer list option still does not appear, but it's the least of my concerns. As for FCE, when GameEx tries to load a game, I can hear the music but only get a black screen. ZNES and Fusion work perfectly. Do I need any special configurations through FCE or GameEx? I using an Arcade VGA with an arcade monitor. Thanks! P.S. Tom - Upgrading to the AVGA fixed the view controls problem that I was having earlier. GameEx.txt
