  1. Just a follow up. I uninstalled and ran Malwarebytes and Norton Power Eraser, neither program found anything. I then ran CCleaner and manually deleted everything left I could find. I then reinstalled 13.32 and reconfigured everything. So far everything is fine and I have not lost any settings or had it reset to default over multiple shutdowns and reboots over the last four days.
  2. If I were to uninstall it how could I be sure I got rid of all the registry info as well? Any guide for that to make sure I got it all? Thanks.
  3. No problem. I really appreciate all your help. Obviously I have the cloned drive I could swap in, and I don't mind setting things up again, but if there's something to figure out here I'd rather figure it out. if possible.
  4. Sorry. Yes, when I checked the properties read only was not checked nor was hidden.
  5. I had been running 12.56 since it came out I'm sure. It's the version on the cloned drive, and I had updating cut off and had not updated it since cloning it. The problem is, that's the version that was basically blank when I cut the machine on Tuesday for the first time in a few weeks. It was fine a few weeks ago, my cp worked, I had 10 emulators set up and running, etc. I cut it on Tuesday morning and everything was reset: default theme with no others downloaded, no emulators visible or set up, direct input shut off, etc. - basically default settings with nothing installed. I went ahead and downloaded 13.32 and installed it before reloading everything thinking I might as well update if I had to reinstall everything. It took me a couple of days to get everything installed and tweaked. I cut it off last night and I had everything working in 13.32. I cut it on this morning and there was nothing there. Default screen, no emulators, nothing set up. Just like a couple of days ago when I cut it on and it had been running 12.56.
  6. The log file that is included in the body of the message above is the one from this morning after everything had been wiped out. It was the second time I booted the machine and included just a couple of changes I made to the theme and to enable Slikstik support, etc. I upgraded to 13.32 three days ago because when I cut it on then it had been wiped clean. The log file that is an attachment above is the log file from a cloned hd I made about two years ago. It was running 12.56 at the time it was cloned. So, it has lost all settings running 12.56 and 13.32 in the last several days. Hope that helps clarify. Thanks.
  7. I cloned my HD on this machine a couple of years ago. Nothing had changed really since then and the first total wipeout. Here is the log file and the config file from the cloned drive, the way it's supposed to be. Obviously it's an also older version of Gameex. GameEx.ini log.txt
  8. I can do all that, but have you seen any type of Malware/Virus that just wipes out Gameex? I should mention that all the emulators are still working fine and still have all the custom control settings working, etc. It is just Gameex that has gotten wiped clean twice now in the last few days?
  9. Trying one more time. I guess I actually forgot to attach the file. Hope this is the correct .ini GameEx.ini
  10. Hope this is the right .ini file? If not let me know and I will get the right one. Thanks.
  11. Sorry, I missed the spoiler bit. Edited the post to add it. Hope that's the correct way.
  12. Alright here's the log info. This was the second time I cut it on this morning, after I had re-enabled the red theme and keyboard input and a couple of other things. This wasn't the log from early this morning when everything first disappeared again:
  13. It does have a wireless adapter on the pc and it will logon to the internet automatically after boot up. Do I paste all this log and config info into the body of a message or send it as an attachment somehow?
  14. Let me go check on directories and try and get the log file and ini file. I do know there is no user login info at play. It is an XP machine with only the default user and also there are no separate drive partitions. Only one installation of Gameex ever. Thanks for the help. It's strange it would just do this after several years?
  15. Hello all, I've been using Gameex for about 5 years or so with no problems. I registered it long ago. I would sometimes go months without turning on my cab and all would be well. I used my cab about two weeks ago and it was fine. Turned it on three days ago and it went straight to the generic default Gameex startup screen (not the Arcade theme I'd been using for years). All my Mame settings were lost, the list of emulators was empty, etc. Everything was gone. I went into advanced configuration and everything was gone and empty. I went ahead and downloaded the latest version of Gameex and over the last couple of days reloaded and set back up everything, Mame, multiple emulators, etc. Last night I had gotten Daphne setup and everything was running smoothly. I had rebooted several times and so on. No problems. I cut the cab on this morning and everything was gone again. Back to the default Gameex startup screen, no emulators setup, all control settings gone, etc. Anybody have any clue where to start with this? No changes were made to the cab or the pc or anything? I hate to go through all the setup just to lose everything again. Hoping to find out a possible reason before I sit down with it again. Thanks in advance if anyone can help!

    Another VP9 question

I did try that and it works for me also. I have one of the shifted keys on my cab assigned to F3 so I can go with that for now. Thanks for the input.

    Another VP9 question

Thanks for the input. So far I am still coming up short on a solution that will allow the displays to show up on top. Maybe someone else who has VP9 working can offer some more insight?
  18. Hello all, I have been running VP8 with no issues for a long time. I upgraded my system and decided to run VP9 as well. I have it launching and playing, but the display (DMD or other display) which is handled by VPinMame, is not running on top like it should. It seems to be running behind the table screen. I searched and read all the posts I could find on VP9, and I saw where this issue had been asked about it, but I never saw a solution. I saw a "visual pinball assistant" launch file referenced but never found the file itself. Anyone have the same issue with VP9? Any suggestions for how to fix it? VP8 continues to work fine with no issues. TIA if anyone can help.
  19. No, the usb hub is recognized once the pc boots up. Problem is instead of the power switch cutting the pc on, it puts it in a standby mode, it takes a second flip of the switch to actually cut it on.
  20. No, right now I have everything plugged into the smartstrip. I will try plugging the hub in and see if it fixes it. Kind of stinks if that's the problem, since the smartstrip allows just one plug for the machine. Thanks for the input.
  21. I know this is kind of OT, but my PC inside my Mame cabinet runs GameEx so maybe it's close enough to being on topic. Anyway, I have had this PC in the cabinet for at least a year and use the "resume last state" setting in the bios to have it boot up when the power switch to the cabinet is turned on. I also have everything in the cabinet: PC, marquee, moniter, etc. plugged into a smart strip so that when it receives power everything is cut on. Here is my problem. I added a powered USB hub to the setup to add external USB ports, and after adding that to the mix when I flip the cabinet switch the PC goes into a standby mode, I then have to flip the switch a second time to get the PC to boot up. Everything else comes on the first time the switch is flipped. BIOS settings are unchanged. I have tried changing the port the powered hub is plugged into with no success. I need the hub, and everything works great with the second flip of the switch, it's just bothering me that I can't figure it out. Any ideas on what's causing the problem?
  22. I am actually using a slikstik panel in my cabinet, so that may be the problem since I do have the option to use it enabled.
  23. Thanks for the file, I appreciate it. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to do anything other than place a mouse cursor on the game menu screen. It doesn't allow me to scroll through the games, etc. Perhaps I am still not understanding things? Thanks again.
  24. That would be awesome if you would compile it for me and let me run it as an .exe I really appreciate your help. Thanks again.
  25. I hate to seem the total idiot, but I'm new to figuring a lot of this out. How do I implement this script? Thanks a lot for your reply.
