  1. I just decided to build a new PC for my arcade cabinet. I downloaded newest GameEx Arcade Edition and newest MAME. On this side: https://forums.gameex.com/forums/topic/24806-needed-gameex-mapped-controls-to-function/ Jondard asks the same question: “the cabinet icons don't change with toggling up/down on the wheel selection (always shows donkey kong)” I newer got this to work on my previous set-up, but now I would like to try again. The Cabinet folder is pointing to a folder filled with *.PNG files, showing all the cabinets. So, I guess that OK. When starting MAME alone, no frontend, the cabinets are shown. Any idea as to why GameEx Arcade Edition will only show the default cabinet? Tanks!
  2. Thanks to the help in this tread, I got my system back up, and it runs nicely : So, I added some Gameboy emulators. Again, it does as it is supposed to do. The menu “rolls” with these items, I thinks that is what I expected. Menu: Genres, Search Games, All Games, Original Games, Multiplayer Games, 4 Player Simultaneous, Last Game, Vector Games, Not Played, CHD Games, Horizontal Games, Vertial Games, Live – GameEx Favorites, Neo-Geo Gmes, CPS Games, Atari Games, Lightgun Games, Trackball Games, Spinner Games, Golden Era Of Arcade, Nintendo Game Boy Color, Nintendo Game Boy Advance, Update List, Favorites, Most Played, Last Played, Play Random Game, Exit GameEx, Turn Off System. The two Nintendo Game Boy is setup in GameEx Setup Wizard 3.2.0, in the Emulator Selection menu. “1: [Handheld] Nintendo Game Boy Color (VisualBoyAdvance)” and “2: [Handheld] Nintendo Game Boy Advance (VisualBoyAdvance)” Now I got the idea of setting up some Pinball, I added “3 [Pinball] Visual Pinball”. See and behold, when I start up my GameEx Arcade a lot of the menu has disappeared (???). The menu now “rolls” with far lesser items. Menu: Genres, Search Games, Arcade Games, Nintendo Game Boy Color, Nintendo Game Boy Advance, Pinball, Favorites, Most Played, Last Played, Play Random Game, Exit GameEx, Turn Off System. The Pinball is there, that’s kind of OK. But the following dissapered: All Games, Original Games, Multiplayer Games, 4 Player Simultaneous, Last Game, Vector Games, Not Played, CHD Games, Horizontal Games, Vertial Games, Live – GameEx Favorites, Neo-Geo Gmes, CPS Games, Atari Games, Lightgun Games, Trackball Games, Spinner Games, Golden Era Of Arcade, ... and most importende the: “Update List” dissapered too. I now exit GameEx Arcade, start GameEx Setup Wizard, goto Emulator Selection, remove the tick in “3 [Pinball] Visual Pinball”, exit Setup, start GameEx Arcade. And voila, all the menu items are back in place, except off cause the Pinball that I removed. Question: How do I fix this? I would like the 3 Emulators AND the hole meny :-) BTW: I did install the 16.83 edition af GameEx Arceade. 3. Thanks a lot. Downloaded, installed an tested. All OK :-)
  4. Experiment: Downloaded 0.228b 64bit. Extracted only mame64.exe and mame64.sym to the MAME folder. Not quite sure if this approach is OK, maybe other files are needed. Redirected Gameex to use the MAME64.exe file. It didn't help.
  5. Experiment: I ran Gameex as administrator, it didn't help.
  6. I am local administrator. Neither Gameex Arcade not MAME is set to run as Administrator. I am starting to wonder if the problem is in MAME configuration, not in Gameex configuration. When a game is running, and I hit the Global Exit, what does Gameex actually do? Send some kind of a keypress or perhaps the TASKKILL command?
  7. A few years ago, I build an Arcade machine. Inside is a Windows 10 build 20H2, it’s configured with 2 joysticks and 2x12 buttons. I choose Gameex Arcade Edition as frontend. Now, during corona lockdown, I felt it was time for a bit of tiding up. So, I started all over. GameEx Arcade Edition 16.74. MAME 0.229b 64b bit. Nothing else. Everything worked – I thought. I can play every game and the controls seems to work as they should. When I hit the Joystick Exit buttons as defined in “Global Exit” there is a problem. First of all, they seem to react much slower than in my previous installation. But the real problem is that it does NOT shut down the MAME game I was playing. Global Exit does return me to Gameex Arcade, and I can start a new game. But the one I started with, is still running in the background. When I exit Gameex Arcade I find to programs running. One black cmd-windows with the text: “Active code page: 65001”, and secondly the MAME game itself. When I kill the cmd-windows the MAME game disappears. If I kill the MAME game, the cmd-windows disappears. So, I guess I’ve made some kind of faulty setup. Any idea on how to make a correct Global Exit that kills the MAME game. Included log of latest attempt to play and exit asteroid. Afterwards I stopped asteroid as described. BUR, Denmark log.txt GameEx.ini
