  1. Thank you.
  2. Has GameEX been updated to work with the history.xml file instead of the history.dat file? https://www.arcade-history.com/index.php?page=download
  3. I found it just a couple of weeks ago and fell in love. I never could get the PC version of MK Trilogy to run correctly on my cabinet (but PC version of MK4 runs great) and this was the prefect replacement. Looking forward to a new version.

    Mame Question

Well, as a side note to all this, I have to say that within the last few months I learned how to compile mame myself and it was well worth it. So, suggest anyone (with the time) who is interested in learning it, do so
  5. That pic is the shifted key view. The other view every button is populated with its normal key function. Ignore the controler mappings, those I did in shifted mode by mistake. I already removed them. Right now the Player 2 is mapped to Escape and evereything else says none. Player 1 is the shifted key, but it just doesn't say it anywhere. Not a big deal.....it works fine so I'll just leave it I guess. thanks for the help
  6. I played around and found out its the player 1 start key. If I hold that key down and press player 2 start it executes the ESC key. Pretty sweet.....thanks for the help. Is there a way to define a different key as the shifted key though? I don't see anything in the program that mentions it. Configurable or hard coded?
  7. Ahh, ok. Makes sense Now my next newb issue......how do I know which is the shifted key? Its not the literal 'shift' key, right? Attached is my shifted layout pic.
  8. Hello all, I have a Slikstik quad and in my ipac settings the Shifted Player 2 start button is mapped to Escape. How exactly do I use this though? I've tried holding down the player 2 key, but nothing happens. The normal tap works fine, and will start the player 2 game, but isn't holding it down suppose to send an escape? Appreciate any info anyone can offer. Thanks.
  9. Just would like to say a big thank you to Tom and the rest of the people on this forum who have helped me in the last few weeks. I recently started fiddling with mame again after being away from it for a while. I think I jumped from ver 1.08 to 1.21, and now 1.22. In the space of a week I went from tinkering with my lightguns to compiling my own mame. For me, thats monster steps! The support for GameEx is great and I'm very happy to be a registered user. So, to Tom and everyone on here....a Happy and Healthy New Year and just a big thank you for everything you do daily. The novice folks (like myself) appreciate it!
  10. I grabbed the 9mb one that had everything included already. Being it was my first compile attempt I wanted to try and keep things simple.
  11. I used only the hi_122 diff file and it did the hi score, disclaimers and removed the crosshairs by default.
  12. Many Thanks I've now got a 0.122u1 Pentium 4 optimized version with no nag screens and hi score support. You sir..........Rock! Thank you for the info
  13. Hey all, I think this is more of a mame setting, but curious if GameEx has a setting to bypass the game messages such as the video emulation not being 100 percent ect. I have it set to skip the normal move joystick right left or type ok message, but certain games like Street Fighter 3 for example come up with a message saying the video emulation is not 100 %, others say that cocktail rotate is not supported or something like that. But whats happening is in my demo mode when those games load, they just get stuck there. Not a huge thing, but can those messages be skipped? I'm using Mame32 0.122 and don't seem to see it in the options. I have skip game info selected, but that just skips the standard message. Any suggestions? Thanks.
  14. Hey Great minds think alike it seems. Thanks for the info. Its exactly what I think I am going to do. I already made a batch for terminator 2 and area 51, and those work fine, so will just go though and see what I play. I'm going to post a link to this thread in the feature request section. Can't hurt Again, thanks for the info/help guys!
  15. Hmm, ok. So I'm thinking I may do this for now. Have gameex use mame32. And create some batch files with the advmame command line to each gun game, then just put those in the external app section of gameex. Can also just remove them from the normal games listing so they don't show up there. Then I just have to run them from the applications section. I have Mugen there anyway, so what the heck But if this is an issue, maybe a future feature of gameex could incorporate a way to run certain selected roms under an alternate mame version? Thanks for the info bkenobi.
