thanks tom, ive just turned off mame demo modes for now, and it just plays videos for now, which is cool with me. i understand you do a *lot* of work on this, so i can wait

if your sega cd games (or any cd game) is in a format of iso and wav/mp3 files, you'll need to create a .cue file showing the location of all the files for that cd game. make sure to convert your mp3's to wav! you can use winLame for windows for this. it'll probably help to use a .cue file from another cd game as a template.

just checking to see if you've had a chance to look at the log file. lemme know if you have. thanks!
-
thanks, yeah it took hours and hours, but i converted my collection to bin/cue format with about a 95% success rate with isobuster.

hitting F9 while ccs64 is running brings up a config menu that includes setting a fullscreen resolution now

so my arcade cabinet is doing really well, and im about 90% done configuring everything... im just having a hard time with my sega cd games. im using kega fusion 3.5 as my emluator, and i know that fusion will open sega cd bin/cue images, but most of my sega cd games are in mds/mdf (alcohol 120%) format, and when i export them to bin/cue with isobuster, a lot of the games lose sound or won't work at all. so my solution to this is to run daemon tools to mount/unmount the cd with the 'launch before'/'launch after' command lines in the configuration. this works fine, but i can't get sendkeys to send a "ctrl+b" (or "^B" in the configuration) to fusion (ctrl+b is the shortcut to boot a sega cd from a cd drive). ive even set the delay as long as 20000 (20 seconds) to give it time to boot up the emulator, but nothing happens. do i have this correct? what am i doing wrong? can anyone help? is there any hope?

sure, turning off videos doesn't seem to have any effect. my log is attached. thanks for the help log.txt

okay, so i *FINALLY* got a working configuration for this! it basically involves mounting the turbografx cd before running the emulator and unmounting it after closing the emulator with the "launch before" and "launch after" options: [Emulator_8] Enabled=True DumbyValue= STARTPAGENAME=TurboGraphix16 CD TITLETEXT=TurboGraphix16 CD StartPageLogo=turbografx ROMFilter=*.cue RomsInFolders=False RomPath=D:\Games\TurboGraphix 16 CD Roms SnapPath=D:\Video Snaps\EmuMovies Turbo Grafx 16 AVI Game Previews TitlePath=D:\Video Snaps\EmuMovies Turbo Grafx 16 AVI Game Previews BoxPath= CartPath= WorkingPath=D:\Emulators\Magic.Engine.1.0.PR10.1.ENG-Full MapKeys=True WaitBeforeKeys= SendKeys= ReplaceDash=True ReplaceUnder=True Capitals=True RemoveBrackets=True ShowDesktop=False Debug=False MAPFile= AlsoLaunch= Command=Pce.exe "D:\Emulators\Magic.Engine.1.0.PR10.1.ENG-Full\syscard3.pce" OLDatZip= LaunchBefore=""C:\Program Files\DAEMON Tools\daemon.exe" -mount 0,"[RomPath]\[RomFile]"" LaunchAfter="C:\Program Files\DAEMON Tools\daemon.exe" -unmount 0 configFile= ExcludedFiles= CustomBackground= PlayMusic=True PCGame= DATABASE= i believe the reason this works now, is that i upgraded to magic engine 1.0 PR or whatever it's called. now it recognizes that there's a cd in the virtual drive, as apposed to 0.99, which just freezes. i recommend upgrading... also there are all sorts of new video setting available in the latest version. also, the command line boots the emulator directly into the system card, which is really important. you're going to want to make sure to edit your pce.ini file to specify *only* your virtual drive.

hi, im just having a weird quirk with the game ex attract mode... the games stop every 2-3 seconds for half a second, giving it a weird stutter. the attract mode videos play fine, so im guessing it's a mame issue? im not sure. all the mame games play fine. im running the latest version of mame32/gameex, on a dell 1.7ghz, w/256ram. can anyone help with this? thanks in advance.
-
anyone? i can't get sendkeys to do a ctrl+b in kega fusion either.

this community is great, ive learned a lot since i first started working on my arcade cabinet... and i really appreciate this frontend! it really is the BEST one out there!

hi, im trying to use sendkeys to make magicengine go up in the menu 3 times, hit enter, and go down 4 times, and hit enter twice. im using this line in the sendkeys field of the configuration (after putting a delay of 15000): {UP} {UP} {UP} {ENTER} {DOWN} {DOWN} {DOWN} {DOWN} {ENTER} {ENTER} i know this would be easier, but it didn't work at all for me: {UP 3} {ENTER} {DOWN 4} {ENTER} {ENTER} it registers the up's, then enter, but it takes a second to load the next menu, and the rest of the keys get sent while it's loading and the emulator misses it. my question is, how do you put a delay between keys? i tried sendwait, but it didn't do anything. thanks!

after trying a ridiculous amount of things, i still cant get this to work. Daemon tools gives me a security message asking me to confirm mounting the image, so the emulator says there's no cd in the drive. turning off security in daemon tools just makes the emulator sit there saying "just a moment..." and just sits there until i hit escape. i tried doing this with alchohol 120 by changing the configuration in gameex to have the alchohol mount the image and run the supercd.bat file like so: "C:\Program Files\Alcohol Soft\Alcohol 120\AxCmd.exe" G: /M:"[RomPath]\[Romfile]" @"D:\Emulators\me099-english-beta5\SuperCD.bat" with the same effect as daemon tools. with the image still mounted (in alcohol) i start pce.exe, and it runs fine. EDIT: i just tried using the "launch before" and "launch after" commands in the gameex config to mount and unmount the image in daemon tools before and after running PCE with the following command line: Pce.exe "D:\Emulators\me099-english-beta5\syscard3.pce" i checked daemon tools while pce is still trying to load the cd and it's mounting and unmounting the image fine, but there's still no effect in pce.... ive been working this for hours... and this emulator just doesn't want to recognize freshly mounted cds it seems. it's really frustrating, so any help would be appreciated!

thanks for the help, i will try that

sweet, that worked great for me. thanks again for the help!

i couldn't seem to find this in the forums anywhere, so i thought id ask. im trying to make custom logo images for the emulated consoles in gameex, but they always come out all choppy on the side and really ugly looking. does anyone know how to create custom images or properly create the backgrounds so the console images have transparancy? thanks!

thanks for the reply, but i think there's something missing from your command line... i get the error "handy.exe -g="[RomPath]\[RomFile]" -d=2" is not a valid handy rom cartridge. is there supposed to be a number just after the "-g=" ?
-
hi, im trying to get the handy emulator to work in game ex, and it does, if i turn 'show desktop' on, but it only plays in a window. i tried looking around the handy website for a commandline fullscreen option, but i didn't find any. is anyone using this emulator and running it in fullscreen? any help would be awesome. thanks!

what is this 'wrapper' you're talking about? i see a 'magicenginecdwrapper.exe' in your config, but i can't seem to find it on the web. perhaps some more detail about how to get the iso/bin/cue or whatever to mount before it's loaded into the emulator would be helpful

im using the same setting for magic engine for the TG CD games as i am for the TG16 games, yet all i get is a blank screen and i get kicked back into game ex... im not sure what im doing wrong here... does anyone have the tg cd games working? thanks!

no one has any ideas for this?

thanks for that list, it's great! i will give nestopia a try!

hi, im trying to get my sega cd games to show up in gameex, but only the bin/cue ones are showing up. none of my iso's are... ive added *.bin; *.cue; *.iso to the roms filter, but im still not getting any sega cd isos... any ideas? also, some of the games are in a format where there's one .iso and several mp3s. dumping all of that stuff into one folder is kinda a mess... can i use isobuster or something to convert these to bin/cue files, or just take all the games and unpack them (again, with isobuster) into individual folders and set "roms in folders" to true? ive got about 30gb of sega cd games, so im hesitant to go ahead with these ideas until i get a second opinion!

hi, i was wondering if someone could help me with this... im using the FCE Ultra emulator for my nes games, and everything runs fine in the emulator itself (outside of gameex) but when i try to run it through gameex, the game starts and i can see the game fine for about 2-3 seconds... then my monitor looks like it's changing resolution and just goes to a black screen (i can still hear the game playing). in fce i have my resoultion set to 640x480 which my monitor definitely supports (mame plays fine at 640) so im not sure what im doing wrong here. any help would be greatly appreciated!
