    Gameex.ini

Had a finished setup working with 50+ emulators for years. Turned on the machine a couple weeks back and now it only lists 8. Isn't gameex.ini the place that determines lists and setups of emulators? When I view the file it lists tons of emulators. Is there another location that may be overriding that file so only 8 emulators are listed?
  2. Is it possible for GameEx Arcade to no longer include the game Kindergarten Killer as one of its listed games. I'm not big on censorship but I hope Tom agrees that it has to go.
  3. PS.... I am an idiot.. I mean XP!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Something just happened to make me think it could be GameEx itself. I had it running 1000 Mile rally Mille Milia (sorry for the poor spelling). After a few minutes the screen went black but I could still hear it playing in the back ground. Did a ctrl-alt-delete and saw two tasks running, the GameEx 1000 mile game and a second gameex.exe -quick. I stopped the gameex.exe -quick and the screen came back but it was back in the gameex game select screen but you still heard the game running. I then let it run for a long time outside of GameEx in mame32 and it has been going fine. gameEx going to a black screen has been happening to my cab for a long time and I can never find out why. Doesn't ATI cards have some kind of issue with GameEx? I thought I read that a while back. Maybe that it also why GameEx seems to be sluggish at times?
  5. Guys, My cab has been running a bit weird so I wanted to reinstall Windows 95 to hopefully clear up some problems. My question is how much will that affect GameEx? I know i would have to reinstall my full version registry key again but how much would it screw up the way GameEx works. I don't think many emulators write to the registry besides possibly Daphne. thoughts, opinions, suggestions? weird = random long load times between actions in GameEx. I could be flying through the game names in Mame and then it will freeze for a few seconds and continue. Or when going from page to page it will do the same thing. It never did this when I built it. gameEx was also set to max( all switches were set for maximum performance and graphics) when first built and it ran fine. Slowly it got worse and I'd cut back on features until I have every extra turned off and it still has these hiccups.
  6. Guys, I am having a problem with my automatic update. Gameex will no longer start up. It goes right to the update page, shows no progress, then goes right back to the desktop. It will stay there for about 15 seconds and then do it again. It just loops through that same sequence forever. I am assuming the answer is to just apply the latest version manually but I'd like the advise of the masters first.
  7. I'll post my config next time I use the machine. I was thinking about your resolution but don't think that's it. If the path was wrong it would happen every time, not without rhyme or reason like it has been.
  8. ok TEMPEST.... I hit my cabinet with a hammer as you said but it still has the same issue. Did you mean for me to hit bkenobi instead?
  9. Guys, would a command prompt window that says 'modeler.exe' is not recognised as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file be the cause of my problems?
  10. I've only seen it happen during MAME but there hasn't been much playtime with anything other than MAME so I'm not sure if others are having an issue too. Is there something I can do to Gameex to keep it from "hogging" windows? Meaning when I hit the windows key and I see the command prompt tab on the bottom is there anything I could do to make Gameex let me view the window when maximized instead of forcing a black screen?
  11. Definitely not something as simple as that. It seems as if GameEx is relinguishing control to another program to be the top window. The only other window is the command prompt window which points to the gameex directory. No idea what would make that open up.
  12. Hey Guys, ran into a new issue and was hoping someone else experienced this and has an answer. When running GameEx for long periods of time the screen goes black. The system isn't dead, GameEx is still running but the screen just goes black. If you hit the windows key the taskbar will come up with two tabs 1. is the gameex button but 2. is the Command Prompt button. If I click the Gameex button the game comes back, clicking the Command Prompt button does nothing. Placing the pointer over that tab just shows the gameex path (C:emulator\arcade\gameex). I can only assume that the command propmt box popping up has something to do with this issue. Any ideas? I was hoping that there are some suggestions prior to having to come up with the error report. The machine isn't with me (parents) and it's quite a trip to get to it. ATI Radeon HD 2600 3 gig Dell celeron 4 gig ram
  13. As usual the original HOFF doesn't let me down... Sucks that I have to redo all the hard work I already put in this machine
  14. Guys, I just installed NullDC in my GameEx cab and have ran into a problem.. I defined all my emulators to run off the basic mame layout (left CTRL, left Alt, Space, Left Shift etc) but NullDC won't accept any of those keys. Must I recode my Ipac and ALL my emulators or is there a fix that I am not aware of? Any help is appreciated.
  15. Any idea as to why video plays so low (audio) when played in gameex? If the roms and music plays at a comfortable level most video files will play so low that I have to crank my speakers to the max. I realize I could adjust the gameex audio level but i was hoping that their is a "fix" to my issue. If I play the same files in VLC the audio levels are at their normal level, it only happens when running the files in gameex.
