  1. I have been playing with about 10 different front ends on my cabinet for about 6 months now, I had previously used Mamewah for quite some time but it just was missing some things.. After testing all the front ends I could find I decided on GameEx because it simply is the best. There are a few things that I am wishing for and I am not sure are possible. 1. I wish I could manually edit the game lists, add, delete, change the name displayed in the list ect.. The main reason for that is because the rom list system is great but it misses a few of my favorite games that I know for a fact work and I have on my hard drive. (Yes I have allow imperfect set to on) The other reason for a list editor is that I hate the (extra) bracketed text in the list but I need it on some games to tell the difference between some versions. If I could change the displayed name it would be a quick fix, I used to manually edit my game list in mamewah all the time. 2. A easy to use key config app. I have a custom key set made but it would be nice to be able to change the key mappings similar to mame through a menu. Just my two cents, keep up the great work.. -Jeremy
  2. Yes, as Tom suggested I used an advanced config and told it to monitor the executable that was called by the launcher. Works great, I have 2 act labs guns on my arcade cabinet and it is an absolute blast! -EliteCGI
  3. I have been trying to set up House of the Dead 3 with GameEx however you have to start the game with a launcher program that calls the actual game .exe file. The issue is the launcher closes when it calles the actual game and that kicks me back into gameex with HOTD 3 running in the background. Is there any way to get this game running? I was trying to find out if the launcher simply sent a command line to the game but I couldn't figure it out. Any help would be great.. Thanks, EliteCGI
  4. Instead of password protecting individual files I wanted it to have the ability to password protect an entire directorys. Then you just stick all your mature files in there own directorys and your normal music/videos in a normal directory. When you choose "play random" or "play all" you would have to have already entered the password to have entered that directory. It would be easy to implement, you could even add it similar to linux/apache .htpasswd system. If the directory contains a password file then it is password protected. It would be an awesome feature...
  5. I absolutly love GameEx, I used Mamewah for over a year before I discovered it sucked compared to this! I have a couple of feature requests however.. 1. Password protection... I have a lot of music and dvd videos on my system that I don't want my children to have access to that have cussing and nudity in them. It would be great to be able to password protect video, audio or even mame adult games. Basically if you tried to access the directory a prompt would appear and you could enter a controller combination to access the contents. Something like "Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right..." Umm... yeah, something like that anyways. 2. Individual Settings for different Emulators/Videos/Music/Mame.. What I mean by that is, like the show additional game info menu. I love it for Mame, however I absolutly hate it on the videos, and some of the other emulators I have. I would love to be able to turn it on or off for each individual section. 3. Easy to use Key Editor Also a easy to use Key Editor would be great, so you can just bring up a editor screen and hit the key you want to use for each command instead of editing the cfg file. 4. Multiple keys mapable for each command. It would rule and I know a lot of other people would love this feature as well. It just makes sence to have all the players controlls be able to operate the menus. I love the program keep up the great work..
  6. No rush, I am a programmer as well and I know how much 'FUN' technical support is. Especially when most people can't be bothered to simply read the doccumentation or search for a answer in the forums. It's a great piece of software, I just swapped to it from Mamewah, after running mamewah for the past 2 years or so. Thanks, EliteCGI
  7. I really wish the developer could just tell me if it's possible or not. I am using a Ipac so I guess I could just set it to make player 1 & player 2 controlls identical untill it launches mame or another emulator, however it just seems to me that it should be simpler then that. Thanks, EliteCGI
  8. You have missed my poit I think. I don't care about the mappings in mame. I want the 1st and 2nd player joysticks on my cabinet to control GameEX.
  9. Is there a way to map multiple keys to the same function in GamEx? Example: Player 1, Button 1 = Select Player 2, Button 1 = Select Player 1, Joystick Up = Up Player 2, Joystick Up = Up I have been playing around trying different things for about an hour now and have searched the forum and the doccumentation but can't find any info on it. My Setup: Dedicated Cabinet Ipac 4 Windows XP Thanks in advance...
