Great! I will be adding this option to the site on Sat. 23 2008 so everyone else can do the same! Also, I have a custom metal bracket made to mount the monitor with. I am going to negotiate a good price from my vendor so I can offer those with the cabinet... JC
-
I would probably do one for about $199. Similar in price to MameRoom, only better materials and design IMHO! Plus, you can pick what color you want the cabinet to be, same as the full builds. I'll be adding this to the website in the next day or so... Email me your zip and I'll quote you shipping too! Thanks! JasonC

You can also try... Cronin's Custom Arcades

Yes, I will be selling them as a 'shell', I just haven't got all the details ironed out yet. If you are interested in one, I can email you with a quote. Just fill out the 'contact us' form on the website and I will respond. Thanks.. The ArcadeVGA features are here ... ArcadeVGA..it does make a difference and besides its not much more than I would spend on a VGA for an arcade machine PC, so why not? JC CCArcades

Thanks... Yeah, I have several designs that I will be launching over the next few weeks. I wanted to get the site going so I am using just one for now. I will be offering the designs just as cabinets soon.... Thanks for the input! JC

Hi all, I've just launched my new web site building custom arcade machines. I will be using a commercial version of Game Ex and wanted some input from the Game Ex community. Have a look around and tell me what you think. (Note to Tom, you'll be the first to know when orders start coming in! Thanks again!) Thanks Jason C Cronin's Custom Arcades LLC http://www.ccarcades.com (previously croninsarcade.com)

Anyone have a good C64 emulator running with Game Ex? If so, where is it found and what is your set-up? Thanks! JSC Cronin's Arcade

Completed Feature Requests (Moved)
MrScary replied to jr9770's topic in FAQs, Guides, & Other Useful Information
I'm sure this may have been requested before, but I will ask anyway.... Is there a way (or future feature) to manually remove a game from the list(s) without resorting to filtering? Sometimes when I filter it takes some games away I don't want it to. I know that this would be tedious (especially the mame list!), but it would be nice. For example, there are 3 or 4 versions of a specific game and I want to use version 2 for some reason. I would then like to remove 1, 3, and 4. Thanks! Carpe Diem! -
Here is a picture of my latest Arcade Cabinet. We raffled this one at my daughter's school auction. Plans will be available soon at (for free)... Cronin's Arcade Here's the pic... More at my site... (Sorry, meant to post this in the proper topic, how do I transfer it?)
-
Not sure how practical this would be, but is it possible to add an option to remove a game from the list manually? For instance, I may select a game and part of the option list is to remove game from master list. There has been more than one instance when I just wanted to remove a few specific games without having to apply a filter and updating the list. Filtering also seems to get rid of some games that I do not want removed. Also it seems, certain clones or sets work better than others, so filtering would not help me pare down the ones that don't work and the ones that do. I know that manually removing games from the list would be tedious, but having the option to do so would be cool. I apologize now if this can already be done and I just do know how to do it. Thanks.......

Completed Feature Requests (Moved)

Had a thought about showing the control panel. Someone asked if it can be loaded just prior to launching the game. My thought was this...how about the contol panel can overlay the game you are playing only for the duration that the button is held down without interupting the game. It seems that when you do that now, it gets 'out' of the emulation to show you the control panel layout. This other way, it would not interfere or disprupt gameplay. (much like the mame configuation menu)... Thoughts??? -
Is there a setting in Game EX to turn the volume for the intro video down or off? I like the ambiance playing and the video makes everything sound jumbled... I looked through the forums and did not find the answer (unless I missed it)... Thanks.

Nevermind....found FFDShow.. That'll teach me to look in the forums before posting!! Sorry! L8R!! You're quick Tom, you responded as I was adding my own reply...thanks.... ..Great program by the way.... Real quick...is there any way GameEx can show the pic if no intro is available for it (my video list is not complete)... Thanks. JSC
-
Not sure if its me...but the intro videos for MAME work ok in GameEx, but the videos for Atari2600 and Sega Genesis do not. When selecting a game, I get kicked out of GameEx and can only see the desktop. The weird part is that GameEx is still an acitve window and I can hear the video. The only way to get out of this is to cancel GameEx through the task manager. The videos are in AVI format, the same as the MAME videos...any ideas????

These work on TV's... http://www.act-labs.com/scripts/proddetails.asp?Pid=132 and these work on Computer Monitors.... http://www.act-labs.com/scripts/proddetails.asp?Pid=92 And these are new Arcade specific.... http://www.act-labs.com/scripts/proddetails.asp?Pid=866 (must have VGA Gun box though) These guns are rated very high by many sites that have reviewed them, for example... http://www.retroblast.com/reviews/actlabs-04122006-01.html L8R!!

If you are referring to the Snapshots for Mame, they should be out of the zip file and in .png format....(in the snap folder) If you are talking about something else, please be more specific....
-
More likely than not, it is a setting inside MAME32. I had a similar problem, only instead of being off an inch or two, it was zoomed up to 3x.... Not sure how it happened and it only did that on a few. Check the default display settings inside MAME32 and play around with it.....
-
Well, I'm an idiot! I am embarassed to even say what was wrong...when I copied over (unzipped) all the snap files into the snap folder, I left the 'keep path' on winzip and it made a folder called snap within the existing snap folder! ...Dumbass!! That's what I get for doing this crap late at night! Thanks for the suggestions though, it led me to look into the problem a little closer! ...stupid!!....(me of course)... L8R!

I tried every setting, check the forums, WTF? Only a few snapshots for the ROMs in Mame show up in Game Ex. Everything work fine through Mame32, but for some reason, it doesn't work in Game Ex....did I miss/overlook something??

Here is my mostly finished cabinet. I still need to add some sideart and a bezel to spruce it up a bit....I took the photo without the flash in order to see the screen OK (and show the glowing balltop joysticks!) For those who are curious, this was a old arcade cabinet that I refinished. It used to be red and ugly. I got it from a local arcade. It was a generic machine with a monitor that could be used as landscape or portrait (it now has a 27" flat tube CRT TV). I completely gutted it out, reinforced it and covered it with new Formica. It has been a year long process to get all the pieces needed, then one week of 1am work days (could only work on it at night). Finally, I added Game-Ex. I am very pleased with this program and am excited to see where it goes....L8R!!! JSC "MrScary"
