  1. Using the installer did the trick. Thanks!
  2. I'm getting a message "script error in addon.py" when trying to run this plugin in XBMC. I'm running the new "Frodo" beta version of XBMC, could this be the source of the problem?
  3. As the game info is one of my favourite aspects of GameEx I'd be very happy if this project was continued. Any chance of this? Maybe the move to SQlite serves as a good reason to update the databases... ;-)
  4. Thanks, that did it!
  5. I did everything according to the guide above. Now the Dos-Games start correctly, but after that GameEx returns immediately to the surface, with DosBox running in the background. The problem must be that D-Fend Reloaded closes after it starts DOSBox with the game profile, so GameEx "thinks" the Emulation has ended and returns to the surface. Is there a way around this?
  6. Hi Draco, I can't try your theme because the "theme.ini" seems to be missing...
  7. GameBase is a great feature for my GB64-collection. For Amiga, however, I'm currently preferring the "standard" Emulator setup. I'm using the WHDLoad-Packs from Killergorilla in conjunction with videos from Emumovies, both of which can't be used with the GameBase-Setup. More importantly, the Amiga-Gamebase is quite out of date, with many newer WHDLoad-Games missing. The only thing missing with this setup is a good database. My question for you database-wizards out there: Would it be possible to convert the GameBase-Amiga-Database (a mdb-file) into something that GameEx can use? It can be found at http://gbamiga.elowar.com/ (comes with the setup.exe).
  8. Thanks, that is a great feature indeed! I'd like to suggest a few things to make it even more useful: A) The possibility to use Emumovies together with the Gamebase (there are quite a lot of Amiga movies already) An option to use the WHDload-Games instead of the disk games (again, an Amiga-related option).
  9. Hello, I just updatet ScummVM to 1.2.0 (support for Sierra SCI-Games finally!) and in the process fiddled with the GameEx-settings. What I found is that I no longer need those "dummy files" at all! All that's needed is a Map-file with the game shortcuts, e.g.: monkey|The Secret of Monkey Island monkey2|Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge zak|Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders ... and ScummVM does the rest. In fact it doesn't seem to matter at all where the Rom-Path in GameEx points, as the correct path is selected by ScummVM itself (make sure to add the games inside ScummVM first of course!). Not sure if this is really new to you ScummVM-users out there, but maybe it'll help a few people. Cheers, Thomas
  10. Cheers, Tom! The manual update did the trick. Keep up the good work!
  11. Hi, I've got a few problems with the new version. It worked for a while, but no videos or snapshots were shown anymore. Then I switched Themes a few times to see if that helps. But now Gameex crashes as soon as I select an Emulator. The log (attached) says something about a video player at the end... I've only got a small Nettop-PC with an Intel Atom Chip, but up to now it could handle Gameex well enough. Is it maybe not powerful enought for Direct3D? log.txt
  12. This looks like a great resource for all you Theme Builders out there: http://consollection.de/ Check it out!
  13. I have a similar question: After booting up GameEx, the first time I enter a "game screen" (where I can start the game, look at the artwork and stuff) it takes a long time to load. Sometimes up to 10-15 seconds. After that, every other "game screen" loads instantly. Is there any way to speed this "first time loading" up?
  14. Hmm... seems there aren't too many Amiga enthusiasts in the GamEx community. :-) A few days ago a new pack of KillerGorillas WHDLoad games came out - including Speedball II, maybe the best multiplayer game ever. So I have to ask again: Is it possible to add these new games to GameEx using WinUAELoader, or do we have to wait until GameBaseAmiga is updated (which may never happen...).
  15. Good to see further improvements to the databases. To me, they're one of the best features of GameEx. I would really like to have Amiga and Playstation databases, but both systems have thousands of games and would thus require loads of work. I'd like to help out, but Real Life interferes too much, I'm afraid. Hats off to Greatflash for all his great work so far!
