Thank you for that link Tempest. Currently all the controls work and the emulator is programmed, works fine by itself. GameEx boots and shows the game list, when I select the game list the screen goes black until I escape out of it. I have a N64 emulator running fine, but I can't notice any differences except for the fact that N64 has the picture of the console on the emulator select screen, for some reason I dont see the NES console picture anymore. I've read through as many tutorials as I can find, I've set it up several times; but I just can not get my consoles to work. I gave up for a long time, but now that I've enjoyed my arcade for a while I want to add these features. I got the emulator for N64 to work fine, but I can't get any for NES or any others to load the game. Is there a step-by-step guide available to get it set up using VirtuaNES? Any others? I set up the commands, all the files, everything is correct....but when it goes to select a game it just doesn't click...

I have my GameEx set up for MAME and love it, I haven't worked on my cab in a while since I got it up (go figure). Now I'm ready to get back into programming some of the other emulators. Is there a step-by-step guide to get them set up? I go through the options but something always messes up and it isn't a fluid transition from GameEx to the emulator. If there is a particular program that is recommended for any system I'd love to know as well. :0)

At the moment I'm slapping my forehead, but thanks! I was looking for filters and that was frustrating because I've turned them all off, I never saw the update game list link--that's gotta be it, it's taking forever now (which is good). I would imagine I'll be golden once it loads, if not I'll yank the comp from the cab and hook it up to the net for the INI. I appreciate your help, lets hope it works!!

I've been trying to figure it out, but there are several games that do not show up on my game list through GameEx. I have verified that they are working ROMs through MAME, but for some reason I can't get them to show up on the list. Is there a way to refresh my GameEx available games?

I'm not familiar with the Xpadder, what is that??

Thanks for the link! I actually contacted X-Arcade a couple of days ago, and you can program their keys on everything EXCEPT the XXL Tankstick.

Okay, I will search for that and see what I can find. Unfortunately, I can not program what my buttons are. I'm using the X-Arcade XXL tankstick, which uses left alt+left ctrl, somehow pushing them the right way or many times is minimizing my screen. I'll follow up with whatever solution is found. Thanks guys!

When I'm playing games my Player1 controls sometimes minimizes my screen, which is quite frustrating. My guess is it is a hotkey, like Alt+Tab. Does anybody know a program to disable these?

The computer is in the cab and isn't online unfortunately, what information do I need to post--I can scribe...

I'm going through trying to add consoles to my GameEx and I can get the list of games loaded with video previews; but when I go to load the games it tries loading everything, then reverts back to the game selection screen. Is there a common error I have missed?

I am mounting my monitor, and I realize that if I mount the monitor directly to the bezel I'll be able to take it out and switch between Horizontal/Vertical rather easily. One thing I was wondering is if I could program an Admin button on the control panel to switch the view back and forth from vertical to horizontal.

For the theme, what I'm talking about is the intial video as GameEx loads. It has a neat video that says "Intialisation Complete", I was wondering if we have the capability to use our own video file for that intro?

Tempest, thanks for your reply! I just brought my computer out of the cab and hooked it up to register GameEx, just waiting on the email that tells me what to do to 'upgrade' to registered version. I'll check out those videos at the link you gave me. My biggest question now is if I can change that intro movie, if I can do that I think my setup will be just about complete! Well, once my control panel comes in that is.

I tried making a list of all the things I need to get set up and that I'm curious about, I know there are a lot of really helpful people on here and it's been a tremendous help! So far the things I've wondered are: Can I donate money to remove nag screen when the computer is not online? GameEx offers a torrent with MAME preview movies, but it is not seeded. Is there a current seeded torrent with the MAME videos? Is there a way to change the "Initialization complete" video on GameEx load?

I went into the MAME32 emulator and took off the "Save game state on exit", restarted the game a couple of times, then turned the setting back on...now I have my sound, maybe I just started it up on a fluke? It's playing now, I'm not sure why it would have done that...any ideas? Right now I'm going through and setting everything up on the computer before putting this in the cabinet. Any ideas? I'm trying to delete as many Vista load screens as possible, I'm sure once I get everything hooked up in the cabinet I'll find some great ideas and wish I had set it up earlier!

Where do I find the .ini? Also, if I run the DK in Mame32 by itself the sound works fine; so somewhere along the line it's dropping some of the sounds. I'll see if I can find the ini.

I've searched the FAQ and the board, but have not found a solution. When I use GameEx to run my roms games like Donkey Kong lose some sounds. For example, when Mario is walking there is no walk sound, no jump sound, et cetera. It has sound for when I jump over a barrell, use the hammer, but it really takes away from the original feel. Is there a setting I have arranged incorrectly? I just installed GameEx for my new cab today, other than this I absolutely love it! Once I solve this problem I am definitely going to make the donation (okay, admittadly it's partly out of selfish anti-nag screen reasons; but I do love the software). I hope to meet a lot of fellow game addicts around here!
