  1. Ok, I refreshed myself on all the rules. Sorry about that it won't happen again.
  2. Well just call me Dr. Alan Grant! I have officially killed off my dinosaur mame machine and upgraded. Like the rest of the world my finances are not that great so I didint go "top of the line" but I still shelled out like $500. Heres the specs: AMD Phenom 8400 triple-core (I didint even know they made tri-cores I thought they went from dual to quad) 4gb DDR2 memory (cant find the speed sorry) 320G sata hd GeForce 9400 GT 512 MB DDR2 video card. Not bad in my opinion. Going from my P2 or whatever the heck it was to this is quite a upgrade! Now, Ive actually got Gauntlet Legends and Gauntlet Dark Legacy to play for about 5-10 mins before it locks up. So Im wondering if anyone else has got any of the "unplayable" .chd games to play. ************* Deleted - Forum Rules ***************
  3. I own one of these and its great. The only problem is the little joystick on the N64 controller, if its a little worn (like all of them by 2008) Its VERY hard to calibrate. If you can find a brand new controller out there, I would say this is a perfect 10/10 product for N64 emulation.
  4. This pc would be for my mame machine only. I have a gaming pc but to be honest, I dont even play many modern games, I prefer the arcade
  5. Thanks for the info, like yourself I have bought a bunch of junk from Tigerdirect but never used so I little worried about buying used pc parts.
  6. Hello everyone! So Ive decided its about time to get rid of my dinosaur and upgrade my pc. I found a new pc (which seems to be way better then my actual gaming machine) and wanted some opinions about it. This is a "factory refurbished model" http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/se...p?EdpNo=4199866 Is the link but I know some people don't like clicking on random links so here are some quick specs. Gateway GT5662 Refurbished Desktop PC - AMD Phenom 9500 Quad Core 2.2GHz, 3GB DDR2, 500GB SATA2 , DVDRW-Labelflash, ATI Radeon HD 2400XT, 10/100 LAN, Windows Vista Home Premium AMD Phenom 9500, 64-bit quad core processor Each core operates at 2.2 GHz 2 MB L3 cache 3600 MHz system bus NVIDIA® GeForce® 6150SE chipset 3072 MB DDR2, 667 MHz, (PC2-5300) dual channel memory (two 1024 MB and two 512 MB modules) 500 GB, 7200 RPM, SATA II hard drive DVD ±RW, 18X super multi-format dual layer That should be way powerful to play almost all (old and maybe even some newer) games out there right? Now here is my problem. Its Vista its a gateway and its refurbished. So I guess my major concerns are: 1. Will it play almost everything with no major speedup/slow down? 2. Vista... is it still as bad as everyone says? 3. Has anyone ever bought a refurbished pc from Tiger Direct? 4. Gateway..... Do I have to say more? Also this is a weekend sale, so if possible the faster I get a responce the better please.
  7. Just throwing in my 2 cents... A brand new 'actual' light gun from a original arcade are usually pretty expensive. I know HAPP makes them but there going to be around the $100.00+ range. I bought two act lab (used) light guns for that price. Im having a lot of difficulty trying to calibrate them, but unless you know a lot about wire circut's I would assume calibrating the guns are no where near as hard as re-wiring a arcade gun.
  8. hmm that is not something I want to hear. Thanks, I will have to make sure to do a lot of research before I shell out money on a piece of junk product.
  9. Great information. Thank you for the post. If I cant get these two guns to work, I guess Ill put them on Ebay. There almost $100 a piece new, and I have two so I should be able to get $100 for both (or more). Then I can look into the TopGun II with the money I make from selling my Act Labs.
  10. Wow that Guncon looks ALOT like the gun made by Lik Sang. Unfortunitly they had these bars for the sensors and a really cheap wire, and it snapped. To make matters worse I guess Sony sued the heck out of Lik Sang and they went out of business. I am definitly going to have to look into the guncon2pc more. If it is the same gun just a different name, Ill buy the sensors from them. Thanks for the info!
  11. I hate to bump a post, but I guess no one has act labs light guns? Does anyone have any light gun that works well with Mame? If I cant get these things to work Im going to RTS them and try a better quality gun if I have to.
  12. Hey everyone, it's been a while but I have a question for everyone. I recently just bought 2 Actlabs lightguns for my mame machine. Im having the darnest time getting them to calibrate correctly. I know you need that special version of Mame to make both them work, and I cant even figure out how to work it, so Im just using one at the moment. Does anyone else own actlabs light guns? And if so did you have any problems calibrating them? Also what are some "must have" first person shooters out there that people know are 100% compatable with these guns.
  13. Heck no! My pc should be being excavated from the ground by a archaeologist because its as old as a dinosaur!
  14. Hey everyone, So I overspent on my cabinet, and had to toss in a old $40 pc that only has a 20g hd. It has a ethernet card, and I have it connected to my router just fine and can browse the internet and do Gameex updates perfect. But here is my question..... I have a 1TB external Harddrive that is hooked up to my network on a ethernet cord. Will Gameex be able to read my roms from this location? And if so will there be any excess lag or other undesireable effects from this? Thanks alot anything that knows the answer to this and willing to post.
  15. Far from done, but heres mine so far!
