  1. AWESOME!! That solved it. Latest is not always the greatest huh? Not sure exactly when I updated FFDSHOW, in fact I don't recall that I did until AFTER I had the lockup grief in an attempt to resolve it. Oh well, for future reference the original FFDSHOW is the version that works.
  2. Thanks a lot for that tip. It has been driving me a bit nuts I'll try it out tomorrow. I'm using the FFDSHOW tryouts version which I updated hoping to solve the issue so will revert to the old one and see what happens. Fingers crossed. Cheers Mark.
  3. So it looks like a few of us have been encountering this issue with the videos that cause the system to freeze up. In another forum I notice that Tom reckons nothing has changed in the way videos are handled in GameEx, but it seems strange that many are having the same issue on systems that were previously working since a few updates ago. Tom, If there's anything I can do to shed some more light just let me know. BTW I found that having GameEx running in a window and not hiding the desktop makes it easier to shut it down without restarting the system.
  4. Not sure if this is the same issue I've been having lately. Since a few versions ago GameEx has stopped working for me in the same manner MadMan describes. I've narrowed it down to GameEx freezing when it goes to play the video snaps. My codecs are fine as I can play all of the video snaps in media player (classic), VLC or what have you. Have tried different themes and it makes no difference. BTW. and maybe off topic, How can I identify the new v4 themes in the theme selection list? I have some that have v1 after them but no V4s.
  5. For most brand HDDs the jumper settings for slave are "no jumpers". You may have had it set to "cable select" with the jumper on it.
  6. Funny that, because it IS a photo of a model . Could you photoshop it a bit more "cartoony"?
  7. could you use this for r-type (NEC) : http://flickr.com/photos/gogdog/2294617561...57603996288197/
  8. Although you already seem to have plenty of ideas for PC images how about maniac mansion : http://mojoart.mixnmojo.com/original-art/m...t_1600x2012.jpg or Day of the Tentacle: http://mojoart.mixnmojo.com/original-art/d...t_1600x2009.jpg Characters are in the posters. I was going to suggest the likes of California games for '64 but no recognisable characters in that, nice legs on the cover though.
  9. Which systems would you like characters for specifically? By the way [back to the] future pinball was tongue in cheek pun.
  10. What about [back to the] future pinball? http://www.ipdb.org/showpic.pl?id=126&...7909&zoom=1
