The Vic 20 needs to support lots of file formats like .d64 , .t64 , .g64 , .g41 , .Tap , .Crt , .P00 , .Prg , .A0 I got lots of roms for the VIC 20 and I think this should be all the formats known by Win Vice . Good Luck for your work Regards, Denoiser

The Vic 20 ? What a dream. It was my first Computer with lots of Cartridges and the damn datasette with all the horrible " load error messages " I´m waiting patiently for this script. I have tried to set up Win Vice 1.21 in Gameex with the Gameex Included Vic 20 Config , and nothing works. I love this machine too, more than all the actually PC Games and Console Games. You see, I´m a real child of the golden 80´s Regards, Denoiser

I did it , it works fine. Now I can play all my C 64 Games , thank you for the fast help.
-
a fine update, it works with all my tapes and Cartridges thank you very much. I often wondered that I´ve been the first who started a thread about Setting up this cool machine but I think many users love the great old C 64 and are very thankfully for your great work. I think another problem of using Ccs 64, caused by gameex, is the Esc Button on the Keyboard. Gamex use the ESC Button to end the emulation and go back to the Gameex Menü. Ccs uses exactly the same Button to simulate the run/stop Button on a C64 Keyboard. When you try to play a game, and must hit the Esc Button, to start the game , the Emulation end and you will return to gameex . Maybe the Author Tom Speirs knows how to handle this. btw, Your Script works fine and makes all the C 64 Freaks all over the world happy. Best Regards, Denoiser

Hi Greatflash , I have give it up to setup my C64 in gameex :-( , since I read your Posts , now it works with your help. :-) nice work, I got it running with your Config. I use the Gamebase C64 Collection V3 with about 17.000 Games. To your question, which formats should supported also ? I think it would be nice and useful to support card images ( .crt ) and tape Images ( .tap ) , because the Gamebase C64 Collection V3 contains so many nice Original Tape Files, and Original Cartridges. I love this old stuff :-) When I point to my tape File or Card file Direktory, gameex won´t start the game with your config at this time. At this time your config, and the given runzip.cmd and unzip32 only supports T.64, D.64 right ? Many Greets , Denoiser

Hi Tempest , here is your personal ego boost :-) many thanks from me to you. I changed the bezel settings and it works fine.

Hi , I like to say thanks for all the good Advice. I tried all your hints, but I can´t figure out what´s wrong. To Remember, all the Games works fine at Mame32. I thought forthcoming Releases of Mame should be run more games. I never thought that every Mame Version needs the matching rom set. Tempest : I only copied my mame roms folder in the mame 082b Directory to try whats the reason when some Roms don´t want to start from Gameex. It does not mean, that they belong to this Mame Version. I found my Mame Rom Set ( about 5 GB, surely not all games :-) in the www and I own my Set for 4 years . Since I found the nice tool gameex for all my Emus I used my Mame roms with Mame 32 ( The one with the Windows GUI , to avoid typing all the horrible dos commands) I turned of the option Verify Roms, and also set allow imperfect roms, but I get the same result. Some Games start and some other don´t do this. I found the following Topic, and I think here´s exact the same Error, maybe we can solve the problem alltogether. http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?showtopic=5351 Bkenobi : How can I figure out which Rom Version I own , My Mame32 Directory has a subdirectory called roms. This folder contain all my games in zip format and many game subfolders. btw : I like the actually Version of Mame32 , i mean this one that gameex downloads for itself when I use the setup Wizard, I think it´s the Version 0.109. But I like to play all my games from gameex.

Thank you for your reply. I thought setting up Mame is much easier. I use the Mame Version v0.109 and most of the games works fine without gameex. I know there are diffenrent versions of mame, but i thought that the latest mame release will guarantee that more games works than a earlier release of mame. What do you mean with Vanilla Mame ? Is is an official Mame Version. Where can I get it from, to test this with my Roms ? For the first Time I used the downloaded Mame Versions of the Gamex Setup Wizard, to test how many roms work. When I try the Advance MAME , I get the error message " unknown command line option rompath " by every game :-( btw, I post my log file , maybe the solution is simple for experts like you. best regards, denoiser log file : 21:13:57.4 14.04.2008: GameEx: Version 9.19: Starting Log 21:13:57.4 14.04.2008: Operating System Platform: Win32NT 21:13:57.4 14.04.2008: Operating System Name: Windows XP 21:13:57.4 14.04.2008: Operating System Version: 5.1.2600 21:13:57.5 14.04.2008: Checking for versions of .net Framework installed 21:13:57.5 14.04.2008: .net Framework 1.1 Installed 21:13:57.5 14.04.2008: .net Framework 2.0 Installed 21:13:57.5 14.04.2008: Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 2.53GHz, 511MB 21:13:57.5 14.04.2008: 2,54Ghz 21:13:57.6 14.04.2008: Running Randomize() 21:13:57.6 14.04.2008: Loading PlugIns 21:13:57.6 14.04.2008: Checking for applications to Launch On Startup 21:13:57.6 14.04.2008: Running Misc startup tasks 21:13:57.6 14.04.2008: Setting Menu types 21:13:57.6 14.04.2008: Opening Configuration File 21:13:57.6 14.04.2008: Getting Configuration Values 21:13:57.6 14.04.2008: Using Theme: Default - Media Center 21:13:57.6 14.04.2008: Checking for alternate Image Directory for Theme: Default - Media Center 21:13:57.7 14.04.2008: Initialising Video/MNG DLL's 21:13:57.8 14.04.2008: Is Media Center running? 21:13:57.8 14.04.2008: Checking/Creating LCD Registry values 21:13:57.8 14.04.2008: Check Media Center Exit/Start Mode 21:13:57.8 14.04.2008: Media Center Mode 2 21:13:57.8 14.04.2008: Video previews on. Hi , I setup the MAME 32 Emu in Gamex by downloading and setup with the Configuration Wizard. After pointing to all my relevant path, I start Gameex. When I choose MAME it takes a while to create the gamelists. But some games in the list won´t start from Gameex. When I try to start the game, gameex will return to the gamelist without starting MAME. It happened not to all games. I think the Roms are not bad, when I start them from the MAME32 Windows GUI all works fine. Does anyone know the solution or maybe have some hints what to do ? Best Regards, Denoiser

Hello , many thanks to fRequEnCy and LB 11 for your help. LB11: The search function is simple and useful, sometimes its so easy I have found another tool based on UnGoodMerge , its called " romdeleter " and makes nothing more than filtering your rom folder and delete the roms you didn´t find useful for your Collection. After done this, I simply point GameEx exactly to this rom folder , maybe I call it " my fav roms" , without creating a map file. Thats more than enough for me Best Regards, Denoiser

thank you for your patience and hints. Can you tell me how many Box Art do you have in your Destination Folder. When I take a look in your gamebase.map there are about 2560 Games (Adf). On which Database are they based off? I mean , is this the hall Amiga Game Collection with all games based on the actually Gamebase Amiga V1.5 ? I miss some games in this map file, Do I have to add this missing games for myself, or is there maybe a easier way to handle this ?
-
Hello fRequEnCy , thanks for your help. I think thats the best way for me instead creating a map file for gameex manually for my own. I take a look at UnGoodmerge and try to work with this tool. When I want to rebuild my roms with CLR Mame Pro I have to use a No Intro Dat ? From where can I get these No-Intro Dat files ? I haven´t found these files at this time.

hello again , thanks for your help I got it working and now I have the same results I think my mistake was to create a gamelist in WINUAE LOADER before start converting artworks ? When I do this, the artwork tool won´t start working. For my understanding that I do the thing in the right order , my Way is the following : 1. After starting WINUAE Loader, I point to my Gamebase Amiga.mdb, then point to my Game Rom Folder , Create a Gamelist and starts to convert. I don´t own any WHD Load or SPS Games just adf from the Tosec Collection Does Gameex support a second Screenshot or a Box Art Back ?

I have the Goodtools Collection with about 11000 Files for my Snes. What did you mean with regular expression. I know that i´m able to open every Dat File with a tool like an editor and look at all entries but how can I make a .map file ? A map file wants to have two name in a row. One for the rom file , and one for the Game name.
