  1. Confirmed. Thank you very much
  2. Hello, i just upgraded my bartop to GameEx 15.07 and Windows 1709. After this upgrade i noticed that none of my buttons work any more in Mame. So i wanted to verify the input settings in the setup wizard, but as soon as i select "Input settings" i get the error in the attached image. The following text can be found in the details: Attached you can find my gameex.ini and the log.txt of GameEx and the setup wizard. Same error in GameExArcade 15.07. Any ideas? GameEx.ini log.txt SetupWizard.log
  3. Ah ok, good workaround until it is fixed. I think ini and log are not necessary as Tom and RedDog can reproduce it.
  4. ICON? I can't see any icons in the language selection of the wizard. See http://www.gameex.info/wiki/index.php/GameEx:Text_/_Language_(Setup_Wizard) If you mean the radio button in front of the text, then it makes no difference in my setup.
  5. I can't change the language in the setup wizard of GameEx or GameEx AE (both version 14.76). Version number of the setup wizard is 3.03. If i try to change the language setting, there is a window refresh for a second or so, but then nothing had happened. It doesn't matter if i start the wizard as admin or not. Other settings can be changed. The logfile of the wizard just contains one line: 26.03.2017 21:12:18: Setup Wizard 3.0.3
  6. Yes, i'm very happy with this setup now.
  7. In the meantime i have tried several other frontends on this hardware and none of them had such problems. Hardware, drivers, codecs, ... cannot be the problem, it must be something with GameEx. So i decided to concentrate on various settings in GameEx and finally found a single setting, which is reproducable responsible for this problem: If "Seek Preview Videos" under "Tweaks / Performance" is set to No, everything is fine.
  8. GameEx Arcade Edition has been updated to 14.71, i don't see that GameEx has also been updated. As i said before, the problem does not exist in Arcade Edition.
  9. I just tried with an external USB soundcard, same problem. I give up now.
  10. I tried every combination of "Run as Admin" and UAC on/off, always the same behavior.
  11. Yes, several times with different versions of the driver. Behavior was always identical.
  12. I also thought it is video related until i used ProcessMonitor from Sysinternals to examine what GameEx is doing when the screen becomes faulty. As soon as the error occurs, GameEx constantly reads sound related registry entries and does not load video or graphics files any more. When i disable the onboard sound (Realtek HD audio) either in Bios or in Windows, everything works fine (without sound of course). It is not sufficient to disable all sounds in the setup wizard, i really have to deactivate the playback device. Tomorrow i will try with an external USB soundcard. GameEx Arcade Edition does NOT have this issue.
  13. I tried countless things in the last 2 days, amongst others: different cpu different memory numerous bios configurations different codecs different pack of video snaps (with deleting all cache files) various combinations of settings in GameEx ... I'm stucked now. Is there any way to get more debug messages out of GameEx, especially for loading and displaying media files?
  14. I started GameEx in windowed mode and monitored memory usage. GameEx used 370-420MB all the time, even when the display went faulty. The total memory usage of the system was around 2GB all the time. So, nothing unusual. When i exit GameEx in windowed mode, it closes the window but it does not close the process, it's still running and uses 370MB of memory. Update: I also monitored video memory usage with GPU-Z. It was around 120-150MB all the time, so there is plenty of room.
  15. Yes, it's really 0.178. I would not call that "old", it was released in September 2016 I will update to 0.181 as soon as my time allows it, but i don't believe that it will solve my problem.
