Worked like a charm! Thanks

Had a bit of a busy week, hadn't had a chance to get to the testing until today. I set the overlay to false as you indicated. Exited CP Wizard, delted the old log, started CP Wizard, then GameEx. This time when I pulled up a game the CP Wizard menu came up, but it was ignoring my joystick commnds. I pulled out my keyboard and Al-tabbed. There were two CP Wizard forms in the list preview and layout. Preview had focus. When I tabbed over to layout then the controls worked properly. I exited out of CP Wizard, unpaused and waiting a few seconds, then paused again. This time CP Wizard wouldn't come up. Here is the log with Verbose set to true. Thanks again! CPWizard.zip

Here is my .ini file. I rebooted when I got home and even the first game that I loaded (Street Fighter 2 CE) didn't have the CP Wizard menu load up. I then disabled the LED plugin and the CP Wizard menu hows up like it should. Crazy stuff. Thanks for taking the time to look into this HK. CPWizard.ini.txt

I am at work now, won't be able to post my .ini when I get home tonight. One thing to add though, if I have the LCD plugin disabled then CP Wizard works every time. If LCD enabled it works only some of the time. I'll test this evening, but think the pattern is that CP Wizard works for the first game used after a reboot.

HK, Guessing this is a configuration issue on my end. Most of the time if I have the LCD plugin running I can't pull up the CP Wizard menu from within a MAME game. Sometimes it will come up, but the majority of the time it won't. I've not been able to figure out any sort of pattern. I've tried it with both speech enabled and disabled. I've tried different settings in CP Wizard. Any idea what may be the cause? I consistantly get the speech component (player 1 button 1, etc.) but not the CP Wizard. Many thanks

I downloaded the updated DLL and now it works fine. I still have a problem with LED Plugin + CP Wizard, but since it doesn't have anything to do with this GameEx release, will post in the LED Plugin thread.

I enabled the plugin, launched GameEx, started a game and exited the game. Control didn't return to GameEx, so killed that process. I've done some more experiementing, and now believe it is related to the LED plugin update. Yesterday I tried disabling and enabling CP Wizard with no change. Same for Joy2Key. No change. I am mapping a button on my GP Wiz controller to ESC in order to support Visual Pinball and other emulators. However, I just tried disabling the LED plugin and noticed two things: 1. Escaping from a game now allows the control to return to Game Ex. 2. It now allows the CP Wizard menu to show up. Previously with both plugins I couldn't get the CP Wizard menu to come up once in game, only a voice calling out "player one button one", etc which I believe to be from the LED plugin, even though I have speech disabled in that plugin.

I may have encounted a major problem with this release. Yesterday I had some guests over and the autoupdate ran. After that the GameEx UI would not return after exiting a mame game. Task manager shows that the process is still running. I have to kill it then restart GameEx after each game played. I had also updated CPWizard the night before, but it ran fine after that. I am running Vista64, everything else is running pretty smoothly. Here are the last two lines from my GameEx Log: 13:45:53.8 7/6/2008: Running: cmd.exe /c G: G:\mame\vmame64.exe sf2ce -rompath G:\mame\roms -triplebuffer -nowindow -joy -skip_gameinfo 13:45:54.3 7/6/2008: Launching CPWizard: "C:\Program Files (x86)\CPWizard\CPWizard.exe" -emu mame -game sf2ce -timeout 9000

Thanks that worked like a charm!

Lovin the combo of CPWizard, GameEx and your LED plugin. I just finished setting up a ctrlr cfg file for neogeo as follows: default: 456 123 neogeo: 123 4 In MAME when I launch a game the buttons work properly. But both the LEDWiz plugin and CPWizard lightup and display the buttons like this: 4 123 Ideas on what I am doing wrong?

Plugin Seems to work great, bounced back and forth between 4way and 8way games and everything seemed to play fine. Thanks for developing this, definately my most valuable plugin now. Running Vista64. Not directly related to your plugin, but I have noticed that the UltraMap tool on my system does not show the actual map loaded, it seems to only display the last map loaded by the tool itself. I set my U360s to 2way, fired up GameEx and was able to navigate the menus fine in all directions. Alt tabbed over to UltraMap and it still showed 2way even after rescanning. Played 1943 in fine 8way fashion and chedk UltraMap again and it still showed 2way. So I would not rely too heavily on what it shows as being loaded.

I attached the USBHIDDevice.cs for the benefit of Oqqalz and other developers. It is part of the code that gets compiled into the SetControls.exe. End users will not need that file. Thank you for correcting me on the libusb0.dll thing, I mistyped the file name in my post. The changes I made to the SetControls.exe may have only been necessary for Vista64. Without them the SetControls.exe on my box consistently threw errors. I will do some more testing this evening to try and confirm that the maps are actually getting loaded onto the UltraStiks. I tested Pacman and it felt like it was loaded properly, it behaved like I had set it to fourway by using UltraMap. Then I went into SFII and it behaved like it was in 8way mode. I did not go over to UltraMap and look to see what it showed as being loaded. I will extend my test to cover this aspect tonight.

Finally got around to dusting off my mame project and dropped in to see the status of the U360 plugin Oggalz was working on. Saw that it was having some issues in Vista so poked around in the code myself. Seems like there are two issues: 1. usblib0.dll is actually being looked for by the filename usblib.dll. So I renamed the file and I no longer got the exceptions like Shaunopp was running into. 2. The setcontrols.exe for some reason was not finding my Ultrastiks. So I loaded up visual studio on my Vista 64 box and took a looksie. I made 4 changes and recompiled it as x86 and it seems to be working fine on my box. I am getting the status messages in Gameex with the profile that is being loaded. I am uploading my compiled SetControls.exe for those that want to give it a try. If you have any issues post the results of a setcontrols.exe as outlined above. I am also attaching the USBHIDDevice.cs file with the changes that I made. SetControls.zip USBHIDDevice.cs.zip

If you don't need to use those drives each time you log in I'd recommend not mapping them as drives, but rather access the resources with the UNC name (\\ServerName\ShareName). For convience you could add a shortcut to the folder to your desktop or start menu.

Works like a charm, thanks HK!

Yes, I have .NET Framework installed. As Tom mentioned, believe the issue is probably due to structure differences for 64bit Windows. Thanks for you guys looking into this.

It appears that it can't even write the log. I am getting no log file written to C:\Program Files (x86)\CPWizard\. Just the short error message I posted earlier. Thanks

I've run into a problem getting CPWizard setup and running on my Vista 64 system. When I go to run your application I get the following error message: "The type initializer for 'cp' threw an exception. at o.a()" I found in the InstallGS.reg that the path to GS was hard coded to c:\program files\gs. For 64 bit systems the path for 32 bit installs will be c:\program files (x86)\. I edited the reg file and imported it, but still received the same error. Thanks in advance!

I just tested it out on my Vista64 system and received the following message: Detecting Ultrastiks... No Ultrastiks found Done. I have two U360s setup and working with UltraMap. However, I did have to get a different version of the libusb0.sys from Andy in order to get it working properly on Vista 64bit.
